Summer is at its fullest and it’s reaching up to 40°C every other day here where I live. In this condition, there is no other way to survive than having a shower twice or thrice a day. Every time you have a shower, you need to make sure you smell good because summer makes you all sweaty and stinky. A nice fragrant bath can make you feel a lot fresher. So, choosing good shower products is very important now. Today, I’ll be talking about two of my favourite products for a perfect summer shower routine from the brand Skinella– Skinella Mandarin Gel Body Wash and Skinella Pink Guava Body Polish Scrub.
My Summer Shower Routine
My summer shower routine includes only two steps- washing my body and scrubbing my body. I wash my hair thrice a week so that doesn’t include in the everyday shower routine. Thrice a week, I also use an intimate wash. Currently, I am loving the Everteen Intimate Hygiene Wash (read the review). Coming back to the two bath products, I use the Mandarin Gel Body Wah for squeaky clean my body and then the Pink Guava Body Polish Scrub to get rid of the dead cells.
I love using shower gels during summer. Shower gels are more fragrant than soaps and the fragrance lingers for quite some time. Also, shower gels are more hydrating in comparison to soaps. Because you cannot put oil or heavy creams on your body post-shower, it is clever to use a moisturizing body wash in the first place. You can then hydrate your body with a light lotion if you feel the need.
Skinella Mandarin Gel Body Wash has an exotic mandarin fragrance which freshens you up and makes your shower time pleasant. The citrusy smell is apt for summertime.
As I can already make out, the body wash comes in a gel form, a little product goes a long way. This product is suitable for all skin types. My body is dry most of the time and this product doesn’t dry it out and provides long-lasting hydration because of the essential oils in it.
No matter what the season is, I love scrubbing my body. It doesn’t only help me get rid of the dead cells but also makes me feel a lot fresher and my skin feels supple and smooth. Skinella Pink Guava Body Polish Scrub is one of my favourite body exfoliators because it has very finely milled scrubbing particles that they claim to be real oink guava. It works very gently yet effectively on my skin. I hate scrubs that feel like wet sand on the body. I don’t like exfoliating my body so much that it feels like ripping my skin off of my body. A mild scrub with tender particles works best for me.
I am quite disappointed with the fragrance. It sounds like an exotic aroma but in reality, it doesn’t. The smell is so faint that it almost smells like nothing.
This scrub doesn’t dry out your skin. You don’t feel the urge to apply body lotion right after the shower. This is hydrating to some extent.

It had been quite a while (read ages) since I last oiled my hair. The last time I had oiled my hair was when I was in school. My Experience with Lalam Oil Plus Hair Oil
My scalp is always very oily. That is the reason why I wash my hair more often than I should. It tends to trip off the natural oils from my scalp. So, it was necessary for me to oil my hair at least twice to stop my hair from getting dry. I always thought, if I oil my hair it will make it worse since my scalp is already very oily. But, to my surprise, it did nothing of that sort.
I use this oil thrice a week to avoid any extra oiliness in my hair but the company says the best results will show up if you use this oil every day. If you are like me, use it thrice a week and you will get a good result too. It has arrested my hair fall for about 60%.
The best thing about this oil is that it is non-sticky and does not cause any irritation to my scalp or facial skin. A great tip on hair-oiling for you would be- always apply hair oil on a clean scalp. Shampoo your hair first and then apply the hair oil the next day. It will allow the oil to come in contact with your scalp and provide nourishment.
When I massage my scalp with this oil, my hair looks and feels more manageable than ever after I wash my hair. It has a mild fragrance of herbs, mostly methi. The smell lingers for long even after a couple of washes.

Nivea Coloron Lip Crayon Hot Pink-
Hot Pink is a bright fuschia pink with cool undertones that suits most Indian skin tones. The colour gives you a subtle hint of pink when applied to the lips so it is not an on-the-face hot pink unlike the name of this shade.
Coral Crush is again a bright shade of coral/orange. I am not very fond of coral lip shades but the subtleness of this shade makes it one of my favourite everyday summer colour!
Nivea Coloron Lip Crayons come in regular plastic lip crayon packaging. It is a fat, twist-up pencil with a transparent lid. Although the tip of the crayon still remains outside even after twisting the crayon down till the end which can damage the tip if you are inattentive while putting the lid on. What I liked about their packaging is that each crayon is colour-coded and also the transparent lids make it easier for you to pick your desired colour in a hurry.
My Experience with Nivea Coloron Lip Crayons-
If you are following me for a long time you’d know that I am obsessed with lip balms. I hate the feeling of chapped lips and I cannot step out of the house without moisturizing my lips. For daily use, I prefer tinted lip balms that protect my lips also give me some sort of colour to the lips. I cannot leave my house in bare lips. Mostly, I am into lipsticks but sometimes you just want to ditch the lipsticks and go for something natural-looking.
When I received the Nivea Coloron Lip Crayons, I was beyond happy because I found what I was looking for quite some time now. These crayons are insanely pigmented and oh-so hydrating. The longevity of these crayons is not very bad considering they are very soft and sheeny. The texture of these crayons is very smooth and creamy so that they don’t accentuate the creases on your lips. The crayons literally glide on your lips. You can lessen the shine by dabbing a tissue onto your lips or by applying some translucent powder on top. I like them as they are. These are also transferable. The colour fades to the edges after a meal, but they provide long-lasting moisture. Even after the colour is gone, your lips are hydrated. You can always reapply these whenever necessary.

There was a two-for-two offer going on pre-ordering the sheets, so I got four of them. I am going to review the Gooseberry + Papaya for Nourished + Brightened Skin sheet mask today.

The sheet masks weren’t the interesting part but their desi ingredients were. I love how they have merged India and Korea in such a fancy way. All the ingredients used in these sheet masks are 100% originated from India and made to target specific skin concerns. Today, I am reviewing two of their 11 variants- Gooseberry+Papaya and Pear+Hyaluronic Acid

How to Use-

My Experience with Nykaa Skin Secrets Face Sheet Mask Range-
Now, let me tell you what I honestly feel about this particular range of sheet masks.
Packaging- The packaging is very nicely and meticulously done. An image of the key ingredients of the corresponding masks is printed on the packaging itself. Also, the name of the ingredients and the effects of the mask is also written boldly on the pack. So, the user is completely aware of what they are putting on their face and there is no room for confusions.
Fitting- The fitting of these sheets masks is what makes it my favourite. The holes are made keeping Indian face shapes in mind. A difficulty that I face with most of the Korean sheet masks is that the holes for the eyes are not wide enough to fit me. But Nykaa’s sheet masks have bigger eye holes so that they fit people with bigger eyes.
Consistency of the Serum/Essence- I have never used a sheet mask before that doesn’t come with a thick, hard-to-absorb serum/essence. My experience with Nykaa Sheet Masks was outstanding because the Nykaa face sheet masks are soaked in a serum that is very lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. The essence does not make my skin oily, it just adds the right amount of moisture.

From my childhood, I have been told numerous benefits of natural ingredients by my mother. She is all about DIYs. I remember she used to make a papaya mask for face and an amla concoction for the hair. I have seen papaya doing wonders for my face. It adds a healthy, natural glow to your face instantly.
I think this particular mask is very average when it comes to the results. I have not seen any visible or drastic change in my skin except for it made it really nourished and clean in a way. It might not make you fairer (because you know that’s not possible!) but definitely would brighten up your face a lot. The serum penetrates into the skin very quickly giving it the proper amount of hydration. This mask is a great option to get an instant pick-me-up before any party or occasion.
Overall, I loved both the masks for the instant glow that they provide. These masks are nothing extraordinary so don’t expect them to completely change your skincare game. Rich n Fudgy Mug Brownie
(1 Serving)
Ingredients-
Flour- 3 tbsp
Powdered/Caster Sugar- 3tbsp
Cocoa Powder- 1 ½ tbsp
Salt (Optional)- a pinch
Vegetable Oil- 1 ½ tbsp
Milk- 3 tbsp
4-5 Chocolate chunks
1 tbsp Gems/M&Ms
Method-
Mix all the dry ingredients in a microwave-proof mug.
Add in all the wet ingredients and mix well.
Add chocolate chunks and gems and mix again.
Microwave for 1.30 min and check. If it’s still gooey, leave it for another 1.30 mins.
Top it off with vanilla ice cream/chocolate sauce.
Caramel Popcorn Milkshake-
(1 serving)
Ingredients-
Vanilla Ice-cream- 2 scoops
Cold Milk- 1 glass
Caramel- 2 tbsp (Buy- https://amzn.to/2I9nwdb)
Unsalted Popcorn- 1 cup
Caramel sauce- Make it by using 1 tbsp milk and 1/2 tbsp caramel
Method-
Mix all ingredients (except the caramel sauce that we made) in a blender jar and blend well.
Line in a smoothie glass with some caramel using a spoon.
Pour in the shake.
Top it off with some popcorn and drizzle some caramel sauce over it.
