Hi, guys! If you follow me on my social media then you must know that I attended a #VLCCStyleStatements session a few days ago. VLCC is India’s leading wellness brand that is the one-stop destination for all your skin and hair concerns. They have various beauty services and personal care services. Also known for their weight loss services, VLCC has several therapies and treatments for beauty and wellness using natural sciences. In this post, I am going to talk about the VLCC skin treatments.
At the event, we had Mr Rohit Murgai, Head- Beauty Sales, VLCC Healthcare who discussed with us various beauty treatments that VLCC has to offer. We got to know about various usual services like Vampire Facelift, Medavita Treatment, Kerafusion Treatment, Microblading and two new treatments that have been introduced in VLCC, Kolkata i.e. Ionic Detox and Cryofreeze Therapy. I’ll elaborately talk about each of them later. Also, read till the end to see if your questions have been answered!
Different VLCC Skin Treatments
Microblading
Most of us must have heard about Microblading, but despite that, we are not much familiar with the term. Mainly because the treatment is not easily accessible and not many places in India have this facility at this moment. We were being informed about this process by Mr Murgai when we got to know the difference between Microblading and Eyebrow Tattoos. Microblading can be called semi-permanent makeup. In this process, pigments are inserted into the epidermis, whereas in tattoos, pigments are inserted deep into the skin. We were lucky enough to have witnessed a Microblading session up close during our event. The expert had a pen-like tool with which she was actually drawing some hair-like strokes on the client’s eyebrows. This process takes almost up to two hours to complete depending on the thickness followed by a touch-up within a couple of weeks. We were told that these pigments last for 15-20 months. VLCC is a trustworthy place to stop by for microblading in India, mainly because they have the best experts.
Ionic Detox
Mr Rohit Murgai told us about the two new treatments that have recently been introduced to VLCC, Kolkata. One of them is Ionic Detox. In this therapy, the client goes through a pedicure which sucks out all the toxins from different organs of the client’s body. The description sounded was quite interesting. We were told that the colour of the water in the pedicure tub changes from transparent to black, green or muddy brown depending on the organs that release toxins.
Cryofreeze Therapy
Another thing that is new to VLCC, Kolkata is this Cryofreeze Therapy. This is mainly an anti-ageing therapy that gives you an instantaneous glow. This is a 20-minute session in which your body temperature is taken down to sub-zero level to constrict your blood vessels. Now, when the temperature is black to normal, the blood gushes back to the entire body giving it an instant tightness, glow and it also instantly reduces the appearance of your fine lines. This therapy is another intriguing one.
Now, we were requested to ask our questions to Mr Murgai and he answered all of them with a smile. I am going to list down Mr Murgai’s answers to the question that you had asked me on Instagram and Facebook. Most of the cures included cosmetological help.
1. Remedy for Hair loss
Firstly, Mr Murgai made it clear that hair loss is curable at any age. There are different therapies that you can try out like Medavita or Mesotherapy in which certain proteins and vitamins are infused into your scalp. Else, you can go for hair transplant, hair patches and toupees or Polydioxanone Threads which is an advanced solution of Androgenetic Alopecia in which hair strands are thread embedded into your scalp.
2. Remedy for Frizz
The more humidity, the more frizz. At VLCC, they have a treatment called Kerafusion that is a keratin therapy for hair. In this process, your hair is given a coating of Kerafusion which makes it more manageable. Another thing is called Velour that is an advanced, in-depth Medavita treatment that is a re-energizing frizz-reduction treatment.
3. Remedy for Open Pores
You need to go through a daily CTM (Cleansing-Toning-Moisturizing) routine. Exfoliate your skin on a regular basis. Use a scrub that has walnut, avoid those that have small beads. There is a tool called derma roller that helps to reduce the appearance of open pores. You can also take help of collagen-based products that helps fill in the pores from within. One of the VLCC skin treatments include Vampire Facelift which is great for treating open pores, as well as dark elbows and knees.
4. Remedy for Dark Circles
Dark Circle happens because of the lesser blood circulation under your eyes. You need to increase the microcirculation there by getting yourself a proper treatment. You can go for a vision energy treatment or you can try eye cell treatment which is best for deeper dark circles. The only thing to consider and remember is that dark circles never go away completely, a treatment can only lessen their appearances.
We were also introduced to botox and fillers by Dr Das who is a very skilled dermatologist. Those are very common ways of improving one’s facial aesthetics and slow down ageing. Also, one very important thing that I have learnt there is that everyone person is born with a different skin type. So, we all need a skincare that is tailor-made keeping that particular skin type and skin conditions in mind. If two people have oily skin that doesn’t mean that the oil-free products that suit one will also suit the other. We need to get our skin tested to find the best products according to what our skin needs.
The event ended with some healthy snacks. The #VLCCStyleStatements session was very informative and enriching. I as well as you got to know about a lot of things. I hope you liked knowing about the VLCC skin treatments as much as I did.
That was it for today’s post. I hope you found this post helpful. Make sure to share it with your family and friends if you did. Pour in your thoughts in the comments. Disclaimer: I was invited by VLCC, KOLKATA to attend the bloggers’ meet.
When we are young, we don’t value things in life as we believe that we can get away with anything. Growing up, we learn so many things that actually benefit us in the long run. For me, it was skincare. Skincare was the thing I paid no heed to. The reason behind it was undoubtedly the lack of knowledge. The moment I started learning about things that do and don’t benefit my skin, I started taking my skincare quite seriously. In fact, I started a proper basic skincare ‘routine’ just a couple of years ago.
It took me years to understand that my skin has some special requirements that need to be taken care of. I was lucky that I had not caused any severe damage to my skin. But, not many are fortunate. That is why I wanted to share the mistakes I made when I was younger so that you who are still teenagers learn from them. So, here we go
1. Washing Your Face At Least Twice a Day
Talking about basic skincare, the one common thing I can think of is washing your face. People who don’t follow any skincare routine, at least wash their face religiously. But, do they do that twice a day, are the most likely to forget washing their face at night? In most of the cases, yes. People wash their face in the morning for a dose of freshness but as the day proceeds, they start to become tired and lethargic which leads to skipping the nighttime skincare.
This practice is definitely a no-no if you want to have clearer and healthier skin. During the day, your skin surface gathers dirt, grime, sebum and what not! You must get rid of those impurities before sleep to prevent those things from clogging your pores and producing acne.
Make sure you are using a cleanser that is meant for your skin type. Use a gentle/mild cleanser if you have sensitive skin, an oil-free foaming cleanser if you have oily skin and a hydrating, soap-free cleanser if you have dry skin.
Speaking of clogged pores and acne, how can I miss the part that is often overlooked but really important in basic skincare. Exfoliation is a must for your skin, no matter how much you neglect it. Scrubbing your face at least twice a week makes sure your skin gets rid of all the impurities and dead cells which will result in an even skin surface. When your dead cells are removed and new cells are uncovered, you know that all the toner, serum or moisturiser that you use actually goes into the skin instead of stopping there on the outer surface. Exfoliation also helps unclog your pores, helping it breathe properly.
If you have oily skin then you must not skip this part. People with oily skin have more open pores because of which they secrete more sebum. If you don’t exfoliate your oily skin religiously then the impurities will clog them which will result in breakouts.
Remember to exfoliate and not over-exfoliate your skin.
One thing that I have been doing wrong all my life is not moisturising my face during summer. It’s not too long ago when I actually changed this practice. Every single skin-type needs proper hydration. If you don’t moisturize your face, it will reflect more signs of dullness, ageing and fatigue. The drier your skin, the more chances of appearance of fine lines. Now, people with dry and normal skin cannot think of moisturizing their skin. It’s the people with combination to oily skin type who often skin the moisturization part thinking that oily skin does not need hydration, especially in summers.
Just because your skin looks greasy doesn’t mean it’s properly hydrated. People with combination to oily skin use products that help control the secretion of sebum and make your pores shrink so that it secretes less oil. In this process, we actually make it dehydrated. You definitely need a dose of hydration to make it healthy. You should use an oil-free moisturizer for your skin.
4. Don’t Rub Under Your Eyes
This is another thing that I have learnt so late. Now, I want to warn you while you are young so that you don’t make the same mistake. The skin under our eyes is extremely delicate and thin. It gets thinner as you age. Rubbing them can cause irritation, it can also accelerate the appearance of fine lines under your eyes. This is something we don’t need at all. I have spent the majority of my life rubbing under my eyes for removing that stubborn kajal and it has caused me a couple of baby-fine lines there.
You should always use a good eye makeup remover to remove your makeup so that you don’t end up rubbing it. Take some makeup remover onto two cotton rounds and press them against your eyes for 10 seconds and gently wipe the makeup off of your eyes. You will see how easily it removes your eye makeup, even the intense ones.
Applying eye cream is a must for as you start ageing the skin under your eyes tends to sag and also becomes thinner. You need some firming eye cream to help tighten the skin. Take the eye cream onto the tip of your ring finger and gently dab it on the under-eye area. The ring finger is advisable because it producesthe least pressure. If you are not concerned about ageing skin or fine lines, you can always use a brightening eye cream for obvious reasons. Our under-eye area tends to get dehydrated, so we need to give it a boost of moisture. Try and make it a part of your basic skincare.
5. Don’t Go to Bed with Makeup
Never ever do this! The primer or base makeup that you apply fill in all your pores, suffocate the skin and results in a massive breakout (or a few pimples). The mascara that you have on your lashes makes them weak and then they tend to fall. Make sure to break down all your makeup using a good makeup remover and then follow it by a good wash using a deep cleaning face wash. One product I can swear by is the Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean. I have already finished three bottles of it!
I like to scrub my face after washing my face to make sure that my pores are open and can breathe. This is one of the most important points to remember in your basic skincare.
6. Invest in Good Products
In skincare, what you give is what you get in return. Consider this as an investment that going to benefit you in the long run. Use good products, quality products. Don’t hesitate in spending your money (Obviously, don’t make a hole in your pocket!) on quality products. Use paraben-free products, collagen-based products for your basic skincare.
7. Always Read the Ingredients List
If you are even a little bit aware of harsh chemicals and how they affect your skin, you must read the list of ingredients written on the product that you are buying. Don’t go for products that don’t have a proper ingredients list unless you have read several reviews on those products. Avoid anything that has SLS/SLES, Paraben, Silicone, Propylene Glycol etc.
Which mistakes are you still doing?

Hi, guys! I am back again with yet another post for you. A lot of you got really excited when I shared a picture of the Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask that I bought from Nykaa during their Valentine’s Day sale. I have been using it since then and I am so impressed with it that I felt the need to share my thoughts with you guys. So, here I am sharing my review on the Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask.
Packaging- Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask comes in a simple transparent plastic jar with a screw-open lid. A wooden spoon also comes along with the product. The label on the tub has all the information including ingredients, usage and effectiveness. I really like the simplicity of the packaging. It looks simple but definitely not cheap.
How to Use- Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask comes in a powder form. So, you need to make a paste out of it using either water or milk. I like to use it with organic rose water.
My Experience with Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask
As I said earlier, I have been using this for the past few weeks. I use this pack twice a week and every time I use it I see visible results. I use rosewater to make a paste out of the powder. When the paste is made, you can see that it is a little crumbly. This is because of the finely milled oatmeal and almond. I apply the mask evenly on my face using a spatula and then let it dry until its semi-wet. Then, I just rub it on my face in circular motions and finally wash it off using lukewarm water. I finish it off by splashing cold water on my face.
The oatmeal and almond meal in this mask efficiently exfoliates the skin and removes blackheads. One of the two main ingredients, activated carbon, sucks out any dirt from the pores and unclog them. Another main ingredient is Tea tree oil which is really effective on acne. Its antibacterial property helps fight acne. Then there is peppermint which is great for oily skin as it controls the secretion of excessive sebum and prevents the pores from being clogged and causing acne. My skin is not acne-prone so I can’t tell you if this face pack really works on acne or not.
I would highly recommend this mask to you. The smaller size comes for Rs 300 only and you get the benefits of a scrub and a mask in one product. This is definitely a great value for money. This product is all-natural, contains no preservative and good for sensitive skin. Those who have oily or combination skin must try it out this summer. This controls excess oiliness without making the skin dry.
What’s your favourite face mask at this moment?
That was it for today’s review. I hope you found this post helpful. Make sure to share it with your family and friends if you did. Pour in your thoughts in the comments. Your comments encourage me a lot! Also, if you want me to review any particular product then let me know. I would love to do that! Hi, guys! Hope you all the doing great. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and most of us are busy choosing the perfect gift for our moms. Today, I am going to share with you guys some gems that my mom loves to use and are definitely effective for everyone.
Mommies are the most careless persons on earth when it comes to their skincare. They work hard for the family, to feed us and takes care of every single trivial thing for us and forget to care for themselves. This Mother’s Day, we can pamper our moms by gifting what they deserve- some skincare love!
My mom used to do nothing for her skin before, then I forced her to maintain a proper skin care regime. She, like an obedient child, followed my instructions and now she does not skip her skin care routine no matter what! My mom has normal to dry skin. These are the products she uses every single day-
1. Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Facewash (Buy here)
Now this one is my mom’s all-time favourite. This face wash is actually good for oily and acne-prone skin as it claims to have the anti-bacterial power of Neem. I myself have used this and loved it. It’s great to take away any oil from your face, plus, it keeps breakouts at bay.
This product is supposed to fight seven skin problems including aging and wrinkles. My mom is 40 something and she needed to include an anti-aging serum in her skin care regime.
3. Fab India Vitamin E De-Pigmentation Cream (Buy Here)
I love Fab India for their pocket-friendly skincare products that are effective too. I have used and loved their Orange and Cinnamon scrub so decided to make my mom try this de-pigmentation cream. She had a few blemishes on her cheekbones which have reduced a lot using this product. It is very lightweight cream with the perfect moisturization power.
Actually, I bought this for myself but it somehow did not suit my skin so I gave it to my mom. She uses it every day, even if she is staying at home and not going out anywhere. It is a part of her post-shower skin care routine. Moms who spend most of the time in the kitchen must use a good sunscreen with good SPF to protect themselves from the heat that comes from the stove.
5. The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish (Buy Here)
When I asked mom to pick something from her shower that she loves the most, she picked this one up. This was bought by me for myself, but when I went on with the Gia Bath and Body Works Coffee Body Polish, I gave it to my mother. This thing has a delicious smell! It makes your skin soft, supple and moisturized, plus, its scrubbing particles effectively yet comfortably removes dead skin.
So, these are the 5 skin care items that my mom swears by. The best thing about these products is these are suitable for all skin types. You can assemble all of these in a nice basket along with some chocolates, flowers, and handmade cards and gift it to your mommies. If you try this idea for this Mother’s Day then don’t forget to let me know her reaction.
What are your plans for tomorrow? Tell me in the comments.
That was it for today’s post. Until next time, be safe & keep smiling!
The lips have to be visible for them to be considered beautiful. Therefore, most people with thin lips are in the struggle to enlarge their lips and those with already large lips apply lipsticks to make them more pronounced. It is only through plumping your lips that you can be able to make your lips as beautiful as in your dreams. There are a variety of natural substances that can be used to plump your lips available in the market. The following are the best ways to plump your lips:
1. Exfoliate
Exfoliation is the removal of the outer layer of dead skin cells. There are some the products used to peel. Consider using these products instead of peeling your lips manually to prevent mechanical damage. Exfoliation allows new younger lip skin to appear and collagen to get more nourishment. A significant role enhancing because when you remove the outer layer, it allows maximum flow of blood hence nutrients and oxygen reach the skin cells for food. Kiss me is one of the scrubs that you can consider for exfoliation. Just avoid over exfoliation because the skin around the lips is thick in regenerating new cells.
2. Apply a lip plumper
The best lip plumpers are readily available in the market to eat lower prices. Choose lip plumper that contains ingredients that promote the health of the collagen. Collagen is responsible for the elasticity of the skin hence prevents wrinkles and fine lines. Intensive injection lip plumper contains vitamin A that is great for the health of the skin. There are those that contain hydraulic acid that is useful for keeping the skin moisturized for a longer period.
3. Apply a stimulating product
Apply any lip gloss that contains pepper and cinnamon. These two substances irritate the lips causing swelling that increases the volume of the lips. Under normal circumstance swelling is a sign of a problem on the affected side but for this case, swelling means that the lip gloss is working actually. The swelling may be slightly uncomfortable but is totally harmless to your skin.
4. Avoid using darker lipsticks
The primary aim of plumbing the lips is to make simply them more visible. Bright colors are more visible compared to the dull ones. Therefore, to achieve the objective of pumping bright colors must be considered. The red lipsticks are the most common more famous lip plumpers available on the market. Choose a color that complements your skin color, rather than the one that makes you duller.
5. Hydrate
Lack of water in the body could lead to the drying of the lips. Drink seven glasses of water daily to keep your skin hydrated. This prevents your lips from drying and cracking. To complement the function of water, apply a moisturizer whenever you feel the signs of drying.
6. Use natural treatment before bathing
Apply a thick coat of honey before your bath and avoid wiping it off when bathing. Steam to allow penetration of the healing agents in the honey. Clean the honey residue on the surface of the skin and apply you favorite moisturizer. This treatment will enable you to have naturally smooth lips that you always wish to have.
7. Consider organic oils for plumping
The natural oils are known for their effectiveness in enhancing the beauty of an individual in different ways. It plays a significant role enhancing the beauty of the skin as well as that of the skin. Apply coconut oil on your lips regularly to keep it moisturized.

The secret of having the most beautiful lips is exfoliating and ensuring that they are moisturized. Choosing the color of your lip plumper also matters in the appearance of your lips. The above methods of plumbing your lips are most of what you need to rise to the standard of Angelina Jolie’s lips. Commitment is most of what is required.

Hi guys, today I am very excited to share my winter time everyday skincare routine with you guys. Ever since I started posting makeup looks on my blog, you guys have been constantly requesting me to post about my skincare routine. This actually is the most requested post on my blog since I started blogging. I am happy that I am finally posting this on my blog.
Before starting off, I would like to let you know a few important things. First, I am already blessed with a good skin, I never had breakouts, freckles or blemishes. I occasionally do tend to get one or two small pimples somewhere around my brows or on my nose but not more than that. I have a combination skin type which means my t-zone is oily and the rest of the face is normal to dry. But, in winters, my t-zone becomes really dry and flaky. So, my winter skincare routine is totally different from my summer skincare routine. The second thing I would like to tell you is that I do not say you can get a perfect skin just by copying my skincare routine. We all have different skin types. What works for me might not work for you. If you have the exact skin type like I have then you can surely use the products I use. If you are not taking care of your skin then do start the basic at the earliest. Don’t forget to cleanse, tone and moisturize your face at least twice a day. Skincare is the best investment you choose for yourself.
My morning skincare routine consists of three parts- Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing. I will now be talking about each step elaborately and I will also mention the products I use.
Cleansing
The first thing I do right after getting up in the morning is brushing my teeth followed by cleansing my face. I make sure there is no change in this routine. The cold splash of water immediately wakes me up and makes me feel fresh. I love that feeling. I try to wash my face thrice a day but most of the days I end up washing it only twice. I don’t use any particular face wash for a long time. I keep switching my face washes firstly because I want my skin to be responsive, secondly and most importantly because my skin doesn’t react weirdly to different products. Anything and everything that I use suits my skin well. I just finished using my Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser (review will be up very soon) which I mentioned in my October Favourites post. Currently, I am using the Vitamin E Hydrating Face Wash by Gia Bath & Body Works. I received it as a deluxe sample in my November Subscription Box.
Scrubbing
I prefer scrubbing my face after I wash my face. I scrub my face every alternate day. I don’t like the feeling of bumps on my face plus, I have blackheads appearing every day. So, it is necessary for me to use a scrub regularly. I am currently using the VLCC Indian Berberry Face Scrub which is quite good in keeping my face hydrated even after scrubbing. So far my favourite facial scrub for winter is the Lotus Whiteglow Yogurt and Oatmeal Scrub, mostly because of its creamy texture and larger scrubbing particles.
Toning
I was not much into toning my skin until I found out how seriously effective it is for my skin. In summers, it takes care of the oiliness and in winters, it balances my skin properly. There are different types of toners for different purposes available in the market. I am currently using the Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose Water which I use as a toner, mostly because it balances the moisture during winters very well. Also, it keeps my face fresh throughout the day.
Moisturizing
Winter is very harsh to my skin. My skin feels like a paper if I don’t use a good moisturizer during winters. Recently I have found out my holy grail moisturizer for winters and it is the Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion. I barely need a moisturizer for the rest of the year but in winters, I need a heavy duty moisturizer to take care of my dry, flaky skin. This moisturizer does a great job hydrating my face for a long, long time.
My under-eye areas tend to get very dry during winters. So, I don’t forget to moisturize under the eyes as well. For that, I use my long time favourite eye cream which is The Body Shop’s Moisture White Shisho Brightening Eye Cream. I love this cream for two reasons- first, it has a great consistency that it doesn’t feel heavy on the delicate areas and secondly, it has a slight shimmer to it which helps to brighten up my under-eye areas.
For moisturizing my lips, especially during winters, I use a family-favourite cream that I have been using since childhood. It is the Boroline Antiseptic Ayurvedic cream. Being a Bengali, I have grown up relying on this cream. I love it. Nothing is as effective as Boroline on my chapped lips in winter.
I was not a skincare person even a couple of years ago. The only skincare I used to do is to wash my face and apply a cream. But, that eventually ended up as a fail. I used to get frequent breakouts even if it was not that time of the month. I am so happy that I finally gave my skin some time and care and it gave me a great result. Now, I make sure I don’t skip my skincare routine whatsoever. I hope this post helped in encouraging you to start off with your own skincare regime. Do let me know if you have any query.
What is your favourite facial cleanser at this moment?
Let me know if you want me to post about my nighttime skincare routine for winters. I would love to share that with you. Till then, be safe & keep smiling!
Skin is the canvas where the traces of years, experience, mistreatment, neglecting, bad diet and other influences are reflected. That’s why it demands special care and attention. Attaining desired radiant glow is never easy, but it’s not impossible. Skin radiance comes from both inside and outside.
To achieve the best and lasting results, you’ll have to change some habits from the roots, build skincare routine and, if needed, change your nutrition. Don’t worry, there is still time to do that, start with the new practice this guideline will recommend first thing in the morning and don’t give up. You’ll be amazed with the results.
Glowing inside out
As mentioned above, healthy diet makes half of smooth and youthful skin. By eating certain foods, you can achieve perhaps even better results than with skincare products.
Nutrient that are rich with omega-3 fatty acids supply your skin with oils that can reduce inflammation and thus prevent acne, redness and scaly skin. Trout, salmon and herring are the best fishes for the job.
Foods with Vitamin C (kiwi, lemon, orange, tomato) stimulates collagen production and protects skin against wrinkles. The extra treat is dark chocolate which is helping your skin stay soft and hydrated. Speaking of hydration, it is crucial that you drink at least 2 liters of water (non-carbonated) per day, and sometimes even more.
Skincare routine
Developing healthy skincare routine is one of the most important steps to take to achieve wanted results. This means you need to wash your face regularly, especially before going to bed. Use makeup remover, gentle soap and only then rinse with water. Remove excess oil with toner and then apply moisturizer.
Make it a habit to exfoliate once a week in order to remove excess skin cells. You can make your own exfoliator or buy trusted product in a store. To keep your skin youthful, protect it from the sun, by applying sunscreen every time you are going outside.
Finishing touches
If you are following these steps you already have glowing skin which needs just a bit more shine. For that, you can use woman’s most trusted tool – makeup.
Start the beautifying process with a primer to create a hydrated and smooth surface. Next, even out the tan with foundation (choose it based on your tan and skin type). If needed, cover spots (acne, redness) with concealer. Lock it all in with powder and accentuate cheekbones with blush or bronzer. Add an extra touch with nude or peach shade lip gloss. The results will be astonishing!
Soft pencil or eyeliner can be very effective solution if you want to highlight your eyes. You can apply the standard one or opt foreyeliner tattoo. However, for evening plans, you’ll need to try a little harder to make your skin glow and cheekbones pop, perhaps do some highlighting and contouring, and you are just few strokes of a makeup brush away from the Hollywood diva look.
There is no reason to have dull and dry skin if you can make it radiant. Where filet of salmon can’t help and exfoliating is just scratching the surface, some primer, foundation and blush will do the trick.

Hey dolls, hope you all are doing good. I just noticed that I have not posted any product reviews for a long time. So, here is one for you. I have been planning to review a body scrub for so long and now here it is. Today, I am going to review a very famous coffee body scrub from one of my favourite skincare brands that is Gia Bath & Body Works. If you are following my blog for a long time then you would know that I have reviewed their soaps once on my blog. If you have not read that post, check it now here.
Coffee may not be good for your health but it is really good for your skin. Coffee has the power to reduce tan and exfoliate efficiently. I have always wanted to make a DIY coffee scrub but I failed several times due to my laziness (guilty as charged). But, my wish came true when I found out a jar of the delicious-smelling Coffee Body Polish hiding in my Gia Bath & Body Works products. Gayatri, the owner of Gia Bath & Body Works is too kind to send a freebie with the purchased products. I am really thankful to her for she chose just the right product to surprise me. Thank you, Gayatri di 😀
Now, let’s jump into the review. Let me tell you first that I have been using the Gia Bath & Body Works Coffee Body Polish since April and loving it since my very first use.
The product comes in the plastic jar with an aluminium screw lid which is totally spill-proof. The label mentioning the name of the product, ingredients and price is attached to the jar. The appearance of the product states its handmade attribute. The sturdy plastic packaging makes it travel-friendly. The scrub is very sticky in texture. It smells of real coffee. The moment the whiff enters your nose you immediately know that you have spent on the right product. The Gia Bath & Body Works Coffee Body Polish is high in consistency thus need to be mixed with little water in order to apply evenly all over the body. Because of the intense consistency, a little amount of the product is enough for my entire body. The fragrance lingers for a long period of time which is a bonus for me.
Price: 590 INR for 150gm
The gentle yet effective sugar granules help scour out the dry skin making the skin really soft and smooth. The scrub is not harsh on your skin at all. It doesn’t irritate or dry out my normal skin. I have not experienced any type of skin allergy or side effects on my skin so far. 150 grams of product is priced 590/- which I think is totally fair for a handmade product. I have been using it for 2 months for twice a week and I think I have only finished up 30% of the product so far. So, this is absolutely a smart investment.
I am in love with this product since I started using it. When it comes to skincare we all need something that contains the right ingredients that prove to be beneficial for your skin. Gia Bath & Body works is such a brand that I can completely rely on. I would definitely suggest you to buy this scrub and to try out yourself. You can buy from their website or you can contact them on their Facebook Page to order directly or for any queries.
I hope if found this review helpful. Write in the comments if you have used any of the Gia Bath & Body Works products and why you love them. Comment below telling which is your favourite body polish/scrub so far. I will be back again with a new post soon. Till then be safe & keep smiling!
Hey all! How are you? If you follow me on Facebook or Instagam you might know that I lost my maternal grandfather a few weeks ago. Blogging took a backseat since then as I was totally busy in attending his funeral and other rituals. After spending almost a month at my maternal grandparents’ home, I am finally back. I promise to blog more often from now. Now, let’s talk about this post. A fellow blogger and friend, Shreoshe from Bong Beauty Palette, asked me to collaborate with her in an activity called ‘Twice As Nice’ by Garnier. I readily agreed to her proposal because of two things that flashed in my mind at that time. First, I had never done a collaboration post with anyone before and second, the name Twice As Nice impressed me a lot.
We decided to combine the topics we mostly talk about in our blogs, like, she mostly reviews skincare items and my blog is full of makeup items reviews and tutorials. So, we are going to talk about how makeup and skincare works together to make you beautiful and how they are twice as nice!
Shreoshe from Bong Beauty Palette
Shreoshe will tell you how daily skincare is must to make your skin happy and healthy forever. This is what she has to say-
“
As the temperature rises high in summer, our skin has to face the harsh sunlight every day. Adding to that our skin feels oily, sweaty and thus attracts a lot of dirt in summer, not to forget the suntan and blemishes that joins in! Here are some handy tips to keep your skin healthy and radiant during summer:
Keep yourself hydrated. Drink 8-10 glasses of water each day and carry water bottle while you go out.
Use sunscreen before going out in the morning. Apply the sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you leave the house.
Use natural toner at home like cucumber juice, store it in fridge and use it whenever your skin feels dull or tired.
Cleanse your face twice a day with a good face wash that will remove dirt and oil effectively.
To get rid of tan, mix gram flour with yogurt and apply the paste all over the tanned area. Wash it off after 20 minutes.
Use shower gels and bath salts to get a glowing skin.
Have a good sleep to reduce stress.

Making Your Skin Happy| The #TwiceAsNice Project with Garnier
Now after the very important skincare regime, you need some more pampering. Let’s allow your makeup products to take that responsibility. I will show you how to do a very easy, fresh and effortless makeup for this summer. Follow the five easy steps to achieve the look that I created-
Prepare your base with any BB cream/ tinted moisturizer and concealer you like. Don’t forget to apply a matte and sweat-proof compact on top of that.
To add a natural flush to your cheeks apply some pink/coral blush to the apples of your cheeks.
Tightline your eyes with a black kohl. If you have very oily lower waterline like I do then skip tightlining your lower waterline.
Curl your lashes and apply a good amount of mascara.
Apply your favourite summery pink lipstick.

~My Take on the Garnier Pure Active Duo~
The Garnier Pure Active duo is basically a face-wash and a scrub, a combo that is #TwiceAsNice. We all know that scrubbing your face at least twice a week is very good for our skin as it removes all the dirt and dead-cells that tend to clog our pores and causes breakouts. The Garnier Pure Active Exfoliating Face Scrub is a creamy scrub filled with apricot seed powder. The scrubbing particles are finely milled so that they don’t feel harsh on your skin. This mild scrub gently scours away all the impurities from your skin without making it dry.

Garnier Pure Active Neem Purifying Face Wash
The Garnier Pure Active Neem Purifying Face Wash is rich in all the benefits of Neem as you can tell. It’s a gel based face wash that lathers well but doesn’t make your skin feel stretchy or dry after the wash. It removes the extra oiliness from your skin which is best for me in this season. It also deep cleanses your skin to remove all the dirt from your pores. I love the smell of both the products. They have very refreshing, fruity and summery fragrance in them. I love how they make my skin feel soft and fresh. I have been using them for a week now and so far I am impressed by their effectiveness. I can share my final opinion about the duo only after using them for a couple of weeks. The duo is worth trying out. Have you guys tried the Garnier Pure Active duo yet?
I hope you like this #TwiceAsNice post. I would love if you check out Shroeshe’s take on this topic. If you loved this post then don’t forget to share with your friends. I will be back with another post this weekend. Till then be safe and keep smiling!
