Mamaearth is another admired skincare and haircare brand that has gained immense popularity in the past year because of its affordability and efficacy. 3. Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner

It’s been years that I have been religiously adding Plum products into my skincare regime and let me tell you that the association has been proved worthy. The Green Tea toner from Plum suits me the best as it’s free from any harsh chemicals, paraben, sulphate, silicone and of course alcohol. Because of that, it doesn’t irritate the skin nor does it create any burning sensation. It just mildly tones your face and effectively removes any extra dirt that your face wash was unable to clear out.

4. Biotique Bio Papaya Revitalizing Tan Removal Scrub

When someone asks me for any product recommendation for tanned skin, I blindly say this name. I have emptied several packs of this particular product and have gone gaga over this on all my social media platforms. The Bio Papaya scrub had got my back when no other products did. I tried several brands and zillions of products that claim to remove tan but nothing worked for me*.

Biotique Bio Papaya helped me get rid of my tan in two-three usages and those were sunburns that were the result of a beach trip. You know how hard it is to get rid of them!

5. Lotus Botanicals Vitamin C Skin Brightening Face Serum

Vitamin C is an essential part of my skincare regimen. I am in my early 30s and anti-ageing is one of my top priorities when it comes to choosing skincare. Vitamin C helps my skin look younger, brighter, and fights off dark spots beautifully. That makes me go on a constant hunt for the best product containing Vitamin C so that my skin doesn’t settle with a particular product.

Recently, I came across this Vitamin C face serum by Lotus Botanicals which is  100% vegan and cruelty-free, free from parabens, silicone, mineral oil and preservatives, non-comedogenic formulation. It beautifully sinks into the skin giving it a healthy glow. I am still using this one every morning and I can say I am loving it so far.

6. Pilgrim White Lotus Natural Face Mist & Toner

Pilgrim is a brand that has been gaining popularity over the past couple of years and there are valid reasons for that. First of all, the concept is one of a kind, something that the Indian skincare industry is quite new to. Secondly, their ingredients are 100% natural and exotic. They are gentle on the skin and suitable for all skin types.

I have used many of their products including their skincare and bath and body products and I can vouch for their quality and efficacy. The product I love the most from their huge catalogue is the White Lotus Natural Face Mist and Toner. Using it for a while, I have realized that White Lotus is a gentle ingredient that suits my skin so well. I use this product as a mist and it has worked in different ways for me. One, it soothes irritated skin, tones it, balances oiliness, provides hydration and refreshes the skin.

A lot of you got really excited when I shared a picture of the Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask that I bought from Nykaa during their Valentine’s Day sale. I have been using it since then and I am so impressed with it that I felt the need to share my thoughts with you guys. So, here I am sharing my review on the Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask.

Packaging- Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask comes in a simple transparent plastic jar with a screw-open lid. A wooden spoon also comes along with the product. The label on the tub has all the information including ingredients, usage and effectiveness. I really like the simplicity of the packaging. It looks simple but definitely not cheap.

How to Use- Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask comes in a powder form. So, you need to make a paste out of it using either water or milk. I like to use it with organic rose water.

My Experience with Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree & Charcoal Face Mask

As I said earlier, I have been using this for the past few weeks. I use this pack twice a week and every time I use it I see visible results. I use rosewater to make a paste out of the powder. When the paste is made, you can see that it is a little crumbly. This is because of the finely milled oatmeal and almond. I apply the mask evenly on my face using a spatula and then let it dry until its semi-wet. Then, I just rub it on my face in circular motions and finally wash it off using lukewarm water. I finish it off by splashing cold water on my face.

The oatmeal and almond meal in this mask efficiently exfoliates the skin and removes blackheads. One of the two main ingredients, activated carbon, sucks out any dirt from the pores and unclog them. Another main ingredient is Tea tree oil which is really effective on acne. Its antibacterial property helps fight acne. Then there is peppermint which is great for oily skin as it controls the secretion of excessive sebum and prevents the pores from being clogged and causing acne. My skin is not acne-prone so I can’t tell you if this face pack really works on acne or not.

I would highly recommend this mask to you. The smaller size comes for Rs 300 only and you get the benefits of a scrub and a mask in one product. This is definitely a great value for money. This product is all-natural, contains no preservative and good for sensitive skin. Those who have oily or combination skin must try it out this summer. This controls excess oiliness without making the skin dry.

What’s your favourite face mask at this moment?

When it comes to skincare, French brands have always ruled the market. Vichy is one of the leading French skincare brands which is not only famous in France but also across the globe. Vichy is also loved by Indian women as it has proved to be a trustworthy brand that works great for the Indian wet and dry tropical climate. I have recently switched things a little bit in my skincare routine and have included the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum in it. I have been using this serum for quite some time now so I thought of sharing a review of it with all of you. Let’s start-

Price- Rs 1850/- for 30ml (Buy at Amazon, Nykaa)

Packaging- The Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum comes in a pretty blue glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The pump is protected with a clear plastic cap which closes tightly ensuring no spillage. Although the look of the product is great but it is not safe for travelling. The glass bottle has to be handled very carefully which is quite a task for me.

Texture- Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum is a whitish serum that has a thin, silicone-y texture when it comes out of the bottle but when rubbed between the fingers the texture becomes watery. Having a thin texture allows it to get absorbed easily and instantly into the skin.

My Experience with Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum Review| Cherry On Top

I have been using this product for almost a month now and I can definitely say that it has become the most favourite part of my winter skincare. If you have normal to dry skin or if you have combination skin that gets dry during winters then this product is for you. I use it twice a day before moisturizing my skin. Before starting off with my experience with the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum, I jus want to let you know a little bit more about my skin and its concerns. I generally have a combination skin which means normal skin with an oily t-zone. During most part of the year, it behaves like that but during winters it becomes very dry. Sometimes I observe the appearance of dry patches or skin peeling around my mouth and my nose. Last year, I had a hard time dealing with a couple of dry patches around my lips which was really irritating. I do not usually get acne on my face except for that time of the month or if I get any kind of anxiety or stress or if I skip my skincare routine which is a rare case.

The Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum is really hydrating as you can guess from the name itself. At least for my skin type, this product hydrates my face enough for it to need any extra moisturizer. Those who have very dry skin must apply a moisturizer. Although I do not skip on my moisturizer , it keeps my face moisturized for good 9-10 hours when applied on its own. As it gives a nice hydration, it can be used as a multipurpose skincare product in summers.

Not only the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum gives a surge of hydration to the skin, but it also replenishes the skin, improves the skin texture and makes it soft and supple for a long time. You can definitely notice a healthy glow on your face after using it. I won’t say that it has brought about a dramatic change to my skin but it has definitely improved it a bit. This year, I did not observe any kind of dry-patches or skin peeling on my skin which was severe last year. To add more, Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum is hypoallergenic, free from parabens, non-comedogenic, non-oily and safe for sensitive skin. The only bad thing about this product is that it contains silicone.

With this, I sum up my first review of 2017. Hope you had a great New Year’s Eve. Wish you a very happy new year. May this new year bring new opportunities to your lives.
