You guys all know my undying love for scrubs. I also categorize them according to my preferences. Some I like on a daily basis, some on the days I pamper my skin and some for special occasions. Today, I am going to talk about the Vasu Sugar Scrub– a new face scrub that I recently came across. This scrub belongs to the last category I mentioned earlier. This particular product is a new addition to my skincare stash, however, the brand is not. I have previously used their Kumkumadi Thailam facial beauty oil. Will talk about it some other day. Today’s product in focus is the sugar scrub and I am already excited to know your views on this.

I know many of you have used sugar scrubs before but I want to know how many of you used them for your facial skin. I am wondering because I have always been sceptical about using any sugar-based exfoliants on my face as I always feared they might be too rough for the skin. I remember one such incident where I used a homemade sugar scrub on my face and I got dry patches on certain parts of the skin. I have used them for my body many a time though. Had I not used the Vasu Sugar Scrub, I might never overcome this fear. This is probably the mildest sugar scrub you’ll find in India, or maybe the only one. Believe me, I am not exaggerating.

Ingredients-

The Vasu Sugar Scrub is full of some extraordinary ingredients that make it a unique formulation. They say it is enriched with the power of 22 herbs. The key ingredients are-

Texture & Fragrance-

The texture of this is very unique, something I experienced for the first time in my life. It is a sand-like texture but you can feel the mildness of it once touched. The consistency is thick and sticky consistency but I spread effortlessly on the skin. It is a light golden-brown colour with visible sugar granules and some black particles which I assumed must be the black sand.

The fragrance is a very soothing ayurvedic smell. As far as my nose could perceive, the product smelled mostly of saffron, sandal and a little bit of honey and I am quite convinced as the first two are generally present in Kumkumadi oils. Kumkuma- the main ingredient in Kumkumadi oil is saffron. These make the product quite aromatic and it is something that doesn’t bother you.

How to Use Vasu Sugar scrub-

Wet your face and neck,
Take a dollop of the scrub on to your palm and rub it between your palms to spread the product evenly before applying.
Gently massage your face with the product in circular motions focusing the nose, chin or any other problematic areas on your face.
Rinse your face thoroughly with cold water.

About 1-2 minutes of massage would be sufficient as you won’t want to over-exfoliate your skin. You must use this product on wet skin as the consistency is quite thick and it won’t spread on the skin evenly only to make it tough to massage properly. You are advised to use this scrub once or twice a week for better results.

My Experience with the Vasu Sugar Scrub

I have already told you my experience with sugar scrubs before Vasu Sugar Scrub came into my life. Now, I am going to share my experience after using this product for almost a month. First of all, I am in love with the texture of this. It is exactly how I like my exfoliators to be, loaded with scrubbing particles. If you and I have the same taste in scrubs, you’ll love this product to the core. It comes in a 50g jar but that lasts for long as a little goes a long way.

The sugar granules in it remove dead cells and impurities very effectively without being harsh on the skin. It’s very mild and gentle which is quite unusual for sugar scrubs. This product contains the goodness of Kumkumadi oil that is well-known for its magical properties that adds a youthful glow to the face and is a natural anti-ageing agent. Most popular among teens, this type of night suit for women is loved for its cosiness and breeziness. These are also available in different prints, colours and styles considering the taste and mood of the one who’s going to wear them.

5. Knee-length Night Dress-

This is another type of nightwear that is most loved by women of all ages. This is by far the best invention in the world of nightwear. These short nighties are very comfortable to wear and easier to move around in, and also these are great for summers since they are breezy.

6. Baby Dolls-

One of the most sensuous night wears, Baby dolls are mostly opted for by new brides or those who are looking for adding some spice to their night suit. Baby dolls are mostly made out of satin or silk materials, usually come as a dress or two-piece cami & shots. The material typically is semi-sheer or sheer and sometimes lined with laces making it appealing to the eyes.

These are certainly not the most comfortable sleepwear, but these have a hugged fit and come with adjustable straps for optimum pleasure. ZEE5 Bebaakee Review- The Much-awaited Romantic Drama

On 17th of August, ZEE5, one of India’s most popular OTT platforms dropped a brand new show called Bebaakee starring Kushal Tandon, Karan Jotwani and Shivjyoti Rajput and Indian audience is more excited than ever. The gripping story of three young adults, Bebaakee, presents a different take on love and friendship. Among many other love stories India has watched on television, this one is certainly like a breath of fresh air.

An Overview of Bebaakee-

Set in the pristine locations of Shimla, #Bebaakee is a story of two best friends who are more like brothers falling in love with the same girl. The story revolves around the lives of these three and an emotional and passionate take on love, friendship and enmity.

The series will somewhat give you a taste of a family drama as it goes around the lives of two best friends (Mohit Chauhan and Sameer Malhotra) living under one roof with their families and the lives of their sons (Kushal Tandon and Karan Jotwani) growing up together like siblings following the footsteps of their fathers. In spite of that, it won’t take your minds off the fact that this is a passionate love triangle, a very complicated one.

The story is as gripping as it could be and to top off, the set and cinematography is nothing less than a big-budget Bollywood film.

Sufiyaan hails from a rich family and looks after Manali’s biggest media house which is a family business. Having a complicated personal life makes Sufiyaan distrustful of women and of ‘love’. He can be described as an egoist to some extent. He eventually falls in love with Kainaat.

Karan Jotwani as Imtiaz Alqaazi

Imtiaz is the son of Sufiyaan’s father’s best friend and they grew up as best friends and blood-brothers. Imtiaz’s character is completely in contrast to Sufiyaan’s. He is caring, intelligent and respectful of all the relationships that he has.

Shiv Jyoti Rajput as Kainaat Sahni

Kainaat is a happy-go-lucky girl with dreams in her eyes and goals in her mind. She becomes the love interest of the two major characters of the series- Sufiyaan and Imtiaz as she joins their media house as a journalist.

Other than these three main characters there are many known faces in supporting roles such as Mohit Chauhan, Sameer Malhotra, Suchitra Pillai, Indraneel Bhattacharya, Saloni Vora, Aditi Vats, Ishaan Dhawan, Krutika Desai, Pubali Sanyal, and Pratik Sehajpal.

The Plot of Bebaakee-

The story of Bebaakee is the story of two best friends or more like brothers, Sufiyaan and Imtiaz, who are poles apart in characteristics but both are very strong personalities in their own way. The only thing that ties them together is the love for each other. In this situation, Kainaat enters Sufiyaan’s life as a journalist in the media house that he runs as a family business. After a short tiff between the two, their mutual love for journalism brings them closer and eventually they find strong chemistry between them.

Things take a turn for worse when Imtiaz falls for the same woman i.e. Kainaat. In one hand she has this passionate love Sufiyaan and on the other Imtiaz, a woman’s dream man with a gentle and caring nature. This triggers the childhood friendship between Sufiyaan and Imtiaz turn into extreme animosity that invokes a chain of unanticipated events that will throw the lives of them in distress.

What Keeps Me Glued to Bebaakee-

Bebakee is certainly not something very new to Indian audience but what makes you still watch it is the extremely good direction, the raw and real acting of the cast, the gripping flow of events, the picturesque views of snowclad mountains of Shimla, Manali and the Himalayan foothills, beautiful cinematography and most importantly the emotions of love, friendship and drama.

The dialogues like “Bebaak mohabbat aakhir kya hoti hai? #dilkihitchki” or “Woh Ishq hi kya jismein paagalpan na ho…” are also very catchy and makes the audience even more attached to the characters.

The song Intehaan is a treat to your ears as well as your eyes. It beautifully connects to the audience. The emotions shown through the show is so real that it’s starting to seem very relatable from the very start.

30 Things I Learnt Before I Turned 30

As you are reading this post, I have just turned 30 somewhere under the blue sky. To be very honest, I have been thinking about this day since my early 20s. Turning 30 is like turning my mom’s age when she had two school-going kids! Most of the 90s girls can relate to this weird feeling where turning 30 has always seemed to feel like a distant dream and at the same time, it has been too tempting to step into this new milestone in life. Anyway, to sum up, I would say that I am a little nervous yet very excited to enter this new phase in my life. After all, you age like a fine wine and also someone told me 30 is the new 20!

Like every other person in this world, these thirty years of my life has taught me so many things- good, bad, ugly that gradually and eventually helped me grow as a human being and made me who I am today. These events have taught me not to regret anything in life rather make your failures your opportunities to start afresh in life. Today, in this post, I will tell you 30 things I have learned before I turned 30. This post might get a little lengthy but I promise I won’t make it boring!

To me, ageing is like an upgradation. With every year, you upgrade your inner and outer self, your mental state and your life’s vision by adding or eliminating things, vibes and people depending how much value these things are adding to your life. 30 is the age when you are almost aware of the fact that it’s more practical to stop clinging onto things or persons that no longer serve you and there is nothing wrong in that. The only way we age, at least for me, is all in our mind. For instance, mentally, I feel I am still in my early twenties or maybe late teens. That’s why I never dreaded turning 30 though it surely feels crazy to realise how time flew and landed me here.

Anyway, let’s start the part you are here for! Thirty years is enough to learn almost 90% of our life lessons. Some might have been hard for you and some might have been delightful but overall they all have helped you to grow into this beautiful person that you are now. Here, I am sharing mine-

30 Things I Learnt Before I Turned 30

Love other people but not at the cost of your self-esteem.
Never take any moment of your life for granted.
Live in the moment.
Everything happens when it’s destined to happen. Never force anything.
Family comes first.
Get out of a toxic relationship be it your family member.
Sometimes it is better to silently distance yourself from people rather than get yourself into a conflict.
Count your blessing.
There is nothing like being humble and kind.
People can be qualified yet uneducated.
Find joy in little things.
There is nothing called a right time to start living.
There is no replacement for hard work.
It’s okay to reset and start afresh.
Taking breaks are necessary.
Only invest in something that brings you peace.
Mental peace is the most important.
Never let anyone take your emotions for granted.
It’s okay not to be in everyone’s good books.
Journaling helps overthinkers a lot.
Sunsets are my most favourite thing to watch every day.
The moon/moonlight makes me happy.
Negativity attracts negativity. So, it’s better to distance yourself from negative people and negative thoughts.
When you stop procrastinating, great things happen.
Patience is the key.
Not everyone is qualified to be called a friend.
Pretence irritates me to the core.
Don’t judge a book by its cover.
Life becomes more beautiful when you embrace it without asking anything in return.
NEVER GIVE UP. Good things happen when you least expect it.

Even though turning 30 is still so far from reality to me, I am going to cherish every moment of this new phase in my life, make memories, be hopeful and grateful and lastly, I will always stay young at heart. Looking forward to the journey ahead ️

How to Use Cutishine Anti-acne Face Wash

Wet your face and apply a pea-size amount of the facewash on to the skin and neck. Massage in an upward circular motion. Wash off with cold water followed by a light moisturizer. For best results use twice or thrice a day regularly.

Packaging

A part of the tube is transparent so that you can keep a tab on how much product you are left with and it also adds to the aesthetics.

Texture & Smell

The texture of Cutishine Anti-acne face wash is like that of a gel and the consistency is quite runny. The face wash is transparent and has no colour whatsoever. It contains tiny white and golden beads in it which help in gently exfoliate the skin while cleaning it.

The smell is quite like an aftershave or a gent’s EDT. The smell isn’t something I am really fond of. I find it a bit strong for my liking. I love skincare products that are mildly scented.

My Experience with Ethicare Remedies Cutishine Anti-acne Face Wash

Having been suffering from occasional acne (mainly hormonal) and ‘blessed‘ with oily skin, I never stop searching for that perfect wash for my skin. I have been using this face wash for the past few weeks and I think this is something I definitely should continue using this.

When I started using this face wash, I did not have any active acne. So, I cannot tell you if this removes pimple or not but it certainly helped me keep the occasional pimples at bay. It delayed the arrival of the pimples and as I continued using this, it completely stopped them from appearing.

But, acne is not the main skin concern that I have, it’s the oiliness that bothers me more than the occasional pimples and this face wash has effectively taken care of that. It removes any traces of the excessive sebum that my skin produces during the night and gets accumulated mainly around my nose. Also, the tiny beads in the product help gently exfoliate the skin, unclogging the pores. These beads are not at all harsh on the skin thus could be used on a daily basis.

Despite removing all the extra oil from your face, this product does not dry out your skin or make it stretchy at all. Both Tea tree oil and Salicylic acid work wonders for the acne, tea tree oil is also a great anti-oxidant that fights free radicals. Glycolic acid and Salicylic acid are gentle exfoliants that remove any dead cells from the skin without being abrasive on the skin. Liquorice helps brighten the skin giving it a radiant look. Glycerine and D-Panthenol are great humectants that help moisturize the skin without making it oily. Aloe vera helps the skin soothe and adds a bit of moisture too. Overall, the ingredients list is quite impressive which makes the product totally safe to use.

Despite being engineered for oily, acne-prone skin, it’s suitable for all skin types.

MamaEarth Coco Face Scrub Review
