Besides being a makeup hoarder, I am also a sucker for stunning art pieces, luxury home decor and anything aesthetically pleasing for my home. I think I got this proneness from my mother. The cushion covers are white in colour and have both the sides printed, One side has a beautiful stitched design, very much similar to a Bengali ‘Kantha‘ and the opposite side has some pretty motifs and a zip closure across it.

The second item which is a wooden box has an elephant printed on it, giving it a very ethnic indie feel. I love designer boxes like this to keep my jewellery.

7UP Revive Saved Me | A Day in My Life

A blogger’s job isn’t as easy as it seems, especially that of a fashion and beauty blogger. It’s not as perfect as it seems on social media. Behind every Instagram post, there is a lot of hard work, stress, and anxiety. If you are a fashion blogger, you cannot limit your creativity just by posing in pretty clothes. There is a lot more effort that goes in. One such obstacle is finding the perfect location. Finding a good location for the photoshoot is not necessary to become a successful fashion blogger, but it is important if you want your readers to get a visual reminder of your work. It also gives a nice element to your photos, makes them unique and ensures people never get bored of them.

Every serious fashion blogger is always looking for different locations for different posts and believe me, it’s a struggle. I have recently started to take my work more seriously and decided to shoot on a different location, ditching my terrace. On the very first day of the quest, I could completely realize the struggle.

Amit (in case you didn’t know – he’s my boyfriend) and I recently decided to try out some different locations for my photos. It was an extremely hot day and we were out on a journey that had no destination. We were almost midway when I felt a little lightheaded because of the heat. Thank god, Amit had brought along a few bottles of the new 7UP Revive with him. A few sips of that helped me freshen myself up and I felt better.

After two long hours of hunting, we found a few good locations. That two hours in the scorching heat took out every last ounce of my energy. I felt like sitting there on the ground no matter if I looked like a madcap or not. That’s the time when 7UP Revive came to my rescue again. Gosh, what would I have done without it!

Next up was an ATM stop, as we needed cash since our favourite café doesn’t accept cards. I do wish they become a little up-to-date! That day, the ATM was overcrowded and we had to wait outside for about 15-20 minutes. We stood in the sun while the heat baked us again. We looked for trees to take refuge under but failed. People, do not cut trees down! PLEASE. Amit was all sweaty and hot (and not in a flattering way!) when Captain 7UP Revive was back on duty! This drink is a saviour!

We have been loving 7UP Revive ever since we tried it during one of our movie dates. The cafeteria at the theater stocked them. Since then, we have never bought any other beverage at the movies. I personally hate carbonated drinks, so it took me no time at all to fall in love with 7UP Revive. It tastes delicious and contains Vitamins B3, B6, and B12 that play an important role in energy metabolism. It also helps replenish essential electrolytes that our body loses when perspiring too much.

Overall, I think it is a great drink for summers. If you are carrying a bottle of 7UP Revive, you are sorted for the day. I would highly recommend everyone to try this drink at least it once!

Got #instaxicated with Fujifilm Instax | Kolkata Bloggers’ Meet

Hi, guys! If you follow me on my social media platforms then you must know that a couple of weeks back I attended a bloggers’ meet organized by Fujifilm India. It was also the evening that witnessed the launch of the new Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Special Combo Packs created for special occasions. Fujifilm is a brand that needs no introduction. This distinguished Japanese photography and imaging company has secured its place in every Indian’s heart over the years. In 2015, they rolled out their Instax range in India and now, after setting their foot in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, they finally came to Kolkata. I was so happy and grateful to be a part of that meet and the launch.

The event took place at the Wilson’s Pub, The Lalit Great Eastern, Kolkata. The event started with a round of quiz and we were asked a few questions related to Kolkata. That was a great way to make an event more interactive and enjoyable, I feel. Next, Abha Mary Xess, the Manager of Corporate Branding, Pr & Media relations of Fujifilm India, started to take us through the journey of Instax so far. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the camera I have been wanting to try my hands at ever since I came to know about it.

After that, there was another quiz session. We were asked questions from the Instax trivia that was discussed previously. My First Time at TGI Friday’s, Kolkata | Review

Hi, everyone! Today’s post will be a little different from the ones that I usually do. This would be a restaurant review. Last month, I went to TGI Friday’s, a famous restro-bar that serves mouth-watering Tex-Mex/American food. Those who follow me on Snapchat and Instagram must already know that. I was accompanied by my sister Sohini and my fellow blogger/best friend/sister Kinkinee. You guys should definitely check out her blog Gupshup Avenue. She has some amazing fashion and food related posts on her blog.

We already had a table booked for us. Upon reaching there, we were welcomed and seated by an attendant. Then we were handed with the menu. Our server told us about their ongoing offers and promotions. TGI Fridays is known for their varied range of exciting deals. They have deals on food and drinks like Happy Hours and Rs 77 Menu. Happy Hours is a buy 1 get 1 free deal on all drinks everyday from 5pm-8.30pm. Then there is Rs 77 Menu in which you can get exciting new cocktails & straights (including appetizers) for Rs 77 each. Isn’t it cool?

When we visited TGI Fridays, there were two new offers going on. One was the Endless Food and Drink offer and another was Frank’s Red Hot Menu. We decided to order our starter from the latter and main course from the regular menu. So, we ordered Frank’s Red Hot Chicken Wings for starter and for the main course we ordered two items- Cajun Chicken and Shrimp Pasta for me and Fish n Chips for Kinkinee and my sister. We had also ordered soft drinks and lemonade.

Price- 6 pcs for Rs 350/-; 12pcs for Rs 665/- (excluding taxes)

When we ordered this we had a feeling that it might be too spicy (that phrase ‘red hot’ is scary!) but it was not like that. The chicken pieces were tender and succulent. There was the perfect balance of spices and the red hot sauce added a bit of kick. The wings were topped off with crisp celery sticks and bleu cheese dressing. They served it with tartar sauce.

Cajun Chicken and Shrimp Pasta @ TGI Friday’s, Kolkata

Price- Rs 550/-

The chicken and shrimp in this dish were juicy, tender and perfectly cooked. The pasta was cooked with sautéd red bell peppers in creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce. They top it off with Parmesan cheese and green onions. You can choose your own pasta. I chose Penne.

Things to keep in mind: Their portions of food are quite big. Remember this before ordering.

Overall, I had a great time there at TGI Friday’s. I wasn’t feeling well that day so I couldn’t enjoy my food. Definitely looking forward to my next visit. I would like to try their desserts as well.

This place is perfect for hanging out with your friends accompanied by delicious food and best cocktails. The restaurant has a very rustic and retro pub type of look to it, but at the same time, it looks very contemporary. The seating arrangement is very nice. It adds to the comfort that this place has to offer. The tables are well lit. Check out their website for more info.

Baking Made Easy with Tupperware Ultimo Speedy Chef

If you follow me on Snapchat, you’d know that I got inspired by Komal of MyHappinesz and tried baking a scrumptious Oreo cake. You’d have watched me use my new Tupperware Ultimo Speedy Chef to mix the cake batter. Now in this post, I’ll share the simple recipe with you and will let you know the features of the cute little device that I used. The recipe was originally published on POPxo‘s Facebook page. So, let’s get started-

5-Minute Oreo Cake

Ingredients:

Oreo cookies (Choco Crème)- 20 pcs
Sugar (Powdered)- 2 tbsp
Baking Powder- 3/4 tsp
Milk- 1 cup

Method:

Break the biscuits into smaller pieces.
Take a food processor and grind the pieces.
Take it out in a bowl.
Add the sugar, baking powder and give it a stir.
Add milk and mix it well.
Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
Put it in the microwave for 5 minutes.
Voila, your 5-minute Oreo Cake is ready!

I mixed everything using my Tupperware Ultimo Speedy Chef which helped me mix everything easily and uniformly.

Prepare light mayonnaise or dips. Remove the cover and whisk in your favourite freshly chopped herbs and flavouring.
Prepare wonderfully light sponge cakes, pavlovas and meringues by beating up egg whites in the Speedy Chef.

On a Snacking Adventure with Terra

Three things that I have always (not so) secretly desired are a perfect matte red lipstick within budget, a wallet that never gets empty and a packet of healthy chips. Well, although I am still on a hunt for the first two but I have finally found the latter.

Recently, when my sister and I hosted a party at our place we though we should do something adventurous with the snacking option. As both of us were busy studying the entire day, we rejected the idea of cooking snacks ourselves and instead we thought of serving Terra Chips to our guests. I had heard a lot about this brand before and I did not want to miss this opportunity to try them.

We had three variants of Terra Chips- Original, Mediterranean Sea Salt and Blue Potato. We chose three different dips for our chips.

We served it at the beginning of the party and our girls loved them. Two batches were finished in minutes. It was that good. Generally people don’t like to stuff themselves with food at the beginning of a party, especially if it is chips or something fried. But, Terra Chips are not just chips, they are gourmet snacks with less oil and spice which is healthy and comforting.

At the end of the party, my friends said that they had never eaten something like it before. Our party-starter was a hit. I am quite sure Terra Chips would be a part of every party we will be attending after that party.

I received the three variants, namely- Mediterranean Herbs and A Hint of Lemon, Original Sea Salt, and Blues Sea Salt. All of them tasted quite good. The Mediterranean and Original ones are made of Parsnip, Taro, Sweet Potato, Yuca and Batata and Blues is made of naturally blue potatoes. Among all three of them, Blues is my most favourite one. All these variants have the goodness real veggies in them and the veggies are non-GMO which means they are not genetically modified. In one word, they are wholesome. The flavours are fresh, really crunchy and less oily. It gives you a feeling as you are eating something healthy. These are also great as party starters when you serve the perfect assortment of snacks that is a treat to both your tongue and your eyes.

Hi, guys! Hope you had an awesome Diwali. Today, I thought I should write about my latest discovery which is a website that sells all things cute and classy. You are are following me for quite some time then you would probably know that I am addicted to cute mugs, phone cases and stationary. I am always on a hunt for cute little things for my home, my desk and my gadgets. I have been rummaging through different websites for those mugs and phone cases usually seen on Tumblr. I had tried and failed several times. Many websites that sell those kinds of designs are mainly based outside India and as I don’t own a credit card or an international debit card I never could get them. It was until I found out about a website called Happoz.com.

Happoz.com has an array of designer accessories from mobile covers to t-shirts, sippers, coffee mugs, badges etc. The best thing about them is that you get to choose from various designs based on your choice and personality. I have had a really tough time choosing a perfect girly and cute mobile cover for my Samsung Galaxy J7 until I found this cute thing on Happoz.com!

I had loved several things there and they have such a nice collection of stuff that one is bound to become indecisive. I tried really hard to not choose more than one thing because I had recently splurged on a few coffee mugs and so I thought of getting one mobile cover for me. The thing I liked about this website is that they have cases for plenty of mobile phone brands, almost every brand and every model was listed there. I am definitely going back to them to buy a few of the things I had wishlisted. Next time I am definitely going for a coffee mug.
