Hi, everyone! Hope you are doing well. During summers, not very often we get the chance to dress up like we want to. That’s because the heat and the humidity don’t allow us to do so. The fashionista inside us goes through restricted ideas of summer fashion. Dressing up and finding the best outfit can be a little tricky. We need to choose the colour, fabric and fit very wisely. You need something that is made out of breathable fabric like cotton, rayon and linen, something that complements your body type at the same time fitting you loosely so that your body gets the space to breathe, and colours that are soft or bright depending on the time you are wearing it.

Today, I wanted to share my idea of summer fashion with an embroidered kurti and colour block palazzos.

This Imara kurti from Myntra is made of 100% Rayon which is completely breathable and super comfy to wear on a hot and humid summer day. I loved wearing this during the shoot. I could pose for hours and still feel comfortable in it. It felt like I am wearing my home clothes. The short sleeves make it perfect for summers. The hemline is a bit curved and it has got red colour blocks on either side of the hemline which is not visible in the photos. The buttoned down back is the thing I liked the most about this kurti. Back buttons are not usually found in ethnic pieces so I really loved it. I also liked the edgy intricate, geometrical embroidery around the neckline. This kurti has a boat neck.

The solid red palazzos from People are also made of breathable Rayon fabric. The cut and fit of the palazzos are perfect for me. It shaped my body very well. I loved how flowy and breezy these are. The material made it very comfortable to wear them. Palazzos are best to perk up your summer fashion game. Tuck in your top/kurtis to make your legs appear longer while wearing palazzos

I paired up these wedged sandals from Reliance Footprint to style my outfit. There are several reasons for me to love these sandals. Firstly, they are silver and I love everything that is gold and silver. It adds a bling to your ethnic ear. Secondly, the heels are super comfortable to walk on. Thirdly and most importantly, it adds height to my body to make me look taller. Palazzos tend to make short women look shorter, so you need to take care of that. Reliance Footprint has a great range of women shoes at a very reasonable price range. You definitely need to check it out. Currently, they are having a Buy 2 get 50% off sale which you can’t miss. I bought a lot of shoes already! #sorrynotsorry

There is a frisson of excitement in the air as the new season settles in. As we bid farewell to the trends of the previous season, a fresh batch of trends emerge.

From the revival of the ’90s to the more-is-more ruffles, this season’s key trends already seem bigger, better and braver. Here’s our comprehensive edit of the newest season: Spring/Summer 2016.

10 Spring/Summer Fashion Trends for 2016 | cherryontopblog.com
1. Slip Into It

Spring’s most sensual proposal? The slip dress. Slinkier than ever, these nightie-inspired dresses pay homage to the supermodels of the ’90s (Think Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista). With subtle details like scalloped lace at Celine, in satin and chiffon at Saint Laurent and layered over fine knits at Pucci, Spring/Summer is looking sexier than ever.

2. True Romance
Real romantics, rejoice! After a wave of androgynous designs and silhouettes that blurred the boundaries of gender, SS16 saw designers embrace femininity to honour woman’s romantic albeit, strong nature. Alexander McQueen chose to be inspired by the Victorian era, Alexander McQueen moved away from his grungy aesthetics and presented a collection that was feminine, subtle and seductive and Erdem showed off ethereal looking dresses that were on the darker side of romanticism.

 3. Ruffles Fest
Ruffles, frills, flounces and ruches continue to be a key trend designers dabbled with. In London, Mary Katrantzou showed off larger-than-life ruffles in structured silhouettes like peplum and tiers. In Milan, Roberto Cavalli presented a collection of billowy taffeta gowns with frill details. Balmain, Michael Kors and Miu Miu also added an exciting edge to this feminine detailing.

 4. Shine on, You Crazy Diamond!

High shine fabrics have always been a runway favourite, but this season’s take on this standout trend is more experimental than ever. While Louis Vuitton went futuristic with foil minidresses, Marc Jacobs and Sonia Rykiel went for all-over sequinned maxi dresses that prove that this key trend is for every girl.

5. Cold Shoulders

Designers prove that the bare shoulders are the only way to show some skin and leave plenty to the imagination. Proenza Schouler, The Row, Boss and Prabal Gurung all featured structured silhouettes with off-shoulder and asymmetric necklines.

6. Mega Colours
The challenge of combining clashing colours was left to Christopher Kane, Gucci, Balmain and Dries Van Noten. And they overcame it with flying colours (quite literally). They presented Pantone hits of the season in vivid graphic and eye-catching motifs.

 7. The ’90s Revival

From Saint Laurent to Vetements, the runway saw inspiration being drawn from the ’90s decade. We saw a full-fledged revival of the oversized jackets, slip dresses and the infamous velour fabric. Alexander Wang also took a turn for the nostalgic with sweatpants and tracksuits for some extra street cred.

8. Floral Redux
While florals for spring may not be ground breaking, this season saw a tougher, moody version of the playful, feminine print. In Paris, Ellie Saab featured laser-cut florals, Phillip Lahm showed off his love for garden groves with minimalist floral prints and Oscar de la Renta put a Latin twist on his flowery ensembles.

 9. Fine Lines
Many designers showed off a bevvy of stripes – from horizontal to vertical, thick to thin, many-hued to monochromatic. Dior, Missoni, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana played with choppy, curled and scattered on billowy to structured silhouettes.

 10. Shoulder-Dusters
A new, bold set of accessories have emerged this season. Shoulder-grazing earrings were featured by Celine, Oscar de la Renta and J W Anderson as mismatched pairs. Simply buy two different pairs of earrings to wear together or wear old favourites together from your jewellery box.

Go “Neon” this festive season and dazzle the world around you in‘Bollywood Style’.

Going elegantly traditional during festivals is a not just a norm in many households but it’s also an evergreen way to look your best. Even designers swear by traditional attires, especially sarees, and classify them as perfect for the festivities. Saree undoubtedly has always been and till date is an eternal garment given to its versatility and uniqueness that allows transitions in the style that it is adorned in. When it comes to being sensuous but with grace and elegance, Saree sure is a hit with all, regardless of age and occasion.

Talk about experimentation and this six-yard garment has immense scope providing options to come up with a distinct look every time. Numerous different saree trends were seen this year itself, hottest amongst which were neon coloured sarees. It is most sought after by the Indian designers and is totally in vogue these days, and why not? Adding a splash of neon to any outfit does project a bold and zany attitude grabbing a lot of eye balls. Sarees in shocking shades of neon green, tangerine orange, acid yellow or hot pink really proved to be the fastest “glowing” trends this fashion-season.

Touch of Neon in Kareena’s Look
It’s a rage with the Bollywood community who have really embraced this trend. The chiffon saree look best in these sparkling neon colours. However, different fabric’s such as Silk, Faux Georgette,Semi Chiffonsareeswith patches of neon colours in them or totally in neon shades are also available for women who love to carry style in the ethnic sense.

You can pretty much go for a hallowed Kanjeevaram in electric colours or a neon yellow Banarasi silk saree with a deep blue border.Drape it in “Mumtaz style”, like a “Lehenga saree” or go for the regular “SeedhaPallu” look which anytime outnumbers any latest trend in saree draping hands down. Then there are ready-to-wear sarees which are again a hot seller amongst those who find it cumbersome to wear a saree.

There are no rules when wearing electric hues as it widely depends on one’s ability to pull off a look. If sarees in exuberant neons appear too ‘in-your-face’ to you then let these colours play hide n seek with you. Opt for designs with neon hues in the piping, border, embroidery threads or just in the finishing. Escalate the impact of shades of neon in your saree by teaming it up with blouse or accessory in pastels or neutrals of the same colour family.
