Since the season of dryness and roughness has come, I have started taking more care of my skin nowadays. My skincare essentially consists of three primary things, cleansing, toning and moisturizing. These are the three steps I never skip on. Another thing that is very important for me is a good exfoliator. I usually like to scrub my face twice a week but I feel these days that is not enough. So, I switched on to a more powerful exfoliant than my usual one. Today, I’ll be talking about my recent favourite Vanya Anaarshine Pomegranate Face Scrub.

About Vanya Anaarshine Pomegranate Face Scrub

Pomegranate Face Scrub is a deeply nourishing blend of pomegranate peel, orange peel, milk powder, and natural cane sugar. It uniquely formulated to resist acne and oxidation while gently exfoliating and hydrating skin.

Ingredients-

Pomegranate peel – Pomegranate peel is rich in antioxidants, Vitamins, minerals, that provides the necessary nutrition to the skin. It also works as a natural sunblock, astringent, anti-ageing agent, and UV protector.

Packaging-

The Anaarshine scrub comes in a metallic jar with a screw lid. The packaging is definitely not hygienic. You’ll have to use a wooden spatula to be safe. This, on the other hand, is completely spillproof and thus very travel-friendly.

How to Use-

Damp your face first. Take a dollop of the scrub, mix it with some rose water or plain water and apply by massaging it in a circular motion on the face and neck. Wash off with water and pat dry your face. It is recommended to use this scrub once or twice a week.

Texture & Consistency-

The texture of the scrub is quite granulated. The good thing is that the granules are very gentle on the skin. The consistency of it is very sticky and concentrated. It’s not a cream, nor a gel but it is quite comparable to the consistency of jaggery. It is not at all sticky on the face once you add water to it. It also does not make your skin greasy.

My Experience-

I am a fan of scrubs that are gritty but not harsh on the skin. Vanya Anaarshine Pomegranate Face Scrub is exactly how I like it to be. The scrub looks very gritty in the jar but when you apply it feels smooth and very gentle on the face. Being a very mild scrub, it can be used daily.

The product might seem quite expensive for the amount you get but it is in a highly concentrated form as mentioned earlier so you’ll need a very little amount to scrub you entire face a neck. You just need to dilute it with some water and you’ll get enough product to use at a time.

Using this scrub daily will bring some glow to your face and it will appear brighter. My final verdict is that Vanya Anaarshine scrub effectively scrubs off the dead cells on your facial skin and also it is hydrating, it does not cause stretchy or irritated skin.

Amrutam Face Clean-Up Review

Hello, beauties! Today, I am back with another review. You know how much I love taking care of my skin. I think it’s more like an investment than just a routine. A few months back, I got to try two products from an all-natural, Indian ayurvedic skin and hair care brand called Amrutam. One of them was a hair care product (which I’ll review very soon) and the other was a skincare product called Amrutam Face Clean-Up which is what I am going to review in this post.

Packaging-

Amrutam DIY Face Clean-up comes in a plastic bottle with a metal screw cap and with a plastic stopper cork to prevent spillage. The packaging is very sturdy and convenient to carry when you are travelling. I wish they had included a pump dispenser for easier use.

Product Description-

This product is a do-it-yourself face and skin repair. It can also be called an at-home clean-up that deep cleanses your pores by extracting dirt from the skin and rejuvenates it from within. It has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which help in acne prevention and dark spots.

How to use:

Place a small amount of Face Clean-Up in your hands. Massage into skin in a circular motion with fingers to get all areas. Leave on for 20 minutes for deep pore cleansing. Wash with warm water and pat dry. Enjoy soft, balanced skin!

2-3 times a week.

Almond helps in the anti-ageing process as they contain Vitamin E and other antioxidants in them. They help in eliminating the harmful free radicals from our body and help our skin maintain its young lustre and glow.

Aloe Vera is a wonder plant for our skin and overall health as well. It is beneficial in the treatment of acne, moisturizing the skin and act as an anti-ageing agent for our skin.

Poppy seeds or Khus Khus will help with achieving clear skin, treatment of eczema and inflammation and they also work as a wonderful moisturizer.

Chironji with its rich vitamins and minerals is very important for healthy skin. It’s highly effective in the treatment of acne and pimples as well.

Kesar is a luxurious ingredient we add in Amrutam Face Clean Up, because of its numerous benefits for your skin. Saffron has been used anciently by Romans and Egyptians as well as a healing agent, it is told that Cleopatra used to use Kesar in her baths because of its cosmetic properties. It helps in the treatment of dry skin, improves skin texture, tones your skin, treats acne and dull skin and also helps in skin lightening.

Yashad Bhasma is an ancient ayurvedic bhasma formulated with aloe vera and zinc oxide, it is highly beneficial in the treatment of acne, pimples and scars.

Product Texture-

The texture of Amrutam Face Clean-Up is very runny, slurpy texture. I think the aloe vera in it makes it a little slurry and viscid. The liquidity of the products helps in spreading the product all across the face very easily.

My Experience with Amrutam Face Clean-Up

I know how happy my skin feels when it is treated with natural ingredients. That’s why I always prefer playing around with natural skincare products. When it comes to Ayurveda, I have not tried too many brands but those I’ve used has left me satisfied. So, when I got the chance to try out Amrutam Face Clean-up, I did not hesitate to say yes to the collaboration because from my past experiences, I have a huge trust in Ayurvedic products.

Before starting with the review, let me tell you what was my skin condition before I started using this product. I started using it in January. Usually, my skin is very dry and dull during winters. I also had an issue of roughness on the skin due to the lack of moisture. I did not have a breakout issue or pigmentation or scarring.

After the very first use, the roughness of my skin was 98% gone and it felt so smooth on touching which was so unusual for my skin during winter. It did not make my skin dry or dehydrated after the whole procedure, instead, it added balanced moisture to the face. It also eliminated the dullness to quite an extent and added a healthy glow.

I have used this even during summers and it did not break me out or made my skin oilier (because I have combination skin and my t-zone becomes super oily in summers.) Even in summer, this product has made my skin glow from within.

I would highly recommend you guys to give this product a shot if you are feeling really fancy and want to take your skincare game a notch higher. The ingredients are 100% safe and it works pretty well without the damaging your skin. I would also like to emphasize on reading the instructions carefully. This product will only work for you if you follow all the steps correctly.

Summer Shower Routine Ft Skinella

Summer is at its fullest and it’s reaching up to 40°C every other day here where I live. In this condition, there is no other way to survive than having a shower twice or thrice a day. Every time you have a shower, you need to make sure you smell good because summer makes you all sweaty and stinky. A nice fragrant bath can make you feel a lot fresher. So, choosing good shower products is very important now. Today, I’ll be talking about two of my favourite products for a perfect summer shower routine from the brand Skinella– Skinella Mandarin Gel Body Wash and Skinella Pink Guava Body Polish Scrub.

My Summer Shower Routine

My summer shower routine includes only two steps- washing my body and scrubbing my body. I wash my hair thrice a week so that doesn’t include in the everyday shower routine. Thrice a week, I also use an intimate wash. Currently, I am loving the Everteen Intimate Hygiene Wash (read the review). Coming back to the two bath products, I use the Mandarin Gel Body Wah for squeaky clean my body and then the Pink Guava Body Polish Scrub to get rid of the dead cells.

I love using shower gels during summer. Shower gels are more fragrant than soaps and the fragrance lingers for quite some time. Also, shower gels are more hydrating in comparison to soaps. Because you cannot put oil or heavy creams on your body post-shower, it is clever to use a moisturizing body wash in the first place. You can then hydrate your body with a light lotion if you feel the need.

Skinella Mandarin Gel Body Wash has an exotic mandarin fragrance which freshens you up and makes your shower time pleasant. The citrusy smell is apt for summertime.

As I can already make out, the body wash comes in a gel form, a little product goes a long way. This product is suitable for all skin types. My body is dry most of the time and this product doesn’t dry it out and provides long-lasting hydration because of the essential oils in it.

Skinella Pink Guava Body Polish Scrub

No matter what the season is, I love scrubbing my body. It doesn’t only help me get rid of the dead cells but also makes me feel a lot fresher and my skin feels supple and smooth. Skinella Pink Guava Body Polish Scrub is one of my favourite body exfoliators because it has very finely milled scrubbing particles that they claim to be real oink guava. It works very gently yet effectively on my skin. I hate scrubs that feel like wet sand on the body. I don’t like exfoliating my body so much that it feels like ripping my skin off of my body. A mild scrub with tender particles works best for me.

I am quite disappointed with the fragrance. It sounds like an exotic aroma but in reality, it doesn’t. The smell is so faint that it almost smells like nothing.

This scrub doesn’t dry out your skin. You don’t feel the urge to apply body lotion right after the shower. This is hydrating to some extent.

It had been quite a while (read ages) since I last oiled my hair. The last time I had oiled my hair was when I was in school. Recently, I decided to give the Lalam Oil Plus Hair Oil a go because of two reasons. One, I was planning to include hair oiling to my hair care regime. Second, I have got sent a bottle of the hair oil by the brand right at that moment. It’s been a month since I started using this hair oil religiously and today I’ll share with you my experience.

Lalam Oil Plus hair oil comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a flip cap and the bottle comes inside a white box which has all the information printed on it. The packaging is nothing special but it is totally spill-proof, thus very travel-friendly.

My Experience with Lalam Oil Plus Hair Oil

My scalp is always very oily. That is the reason why I wash my hair more often than I should. It tends to trip off the natural oils from my scalp. So, it was necessary for me to oil my hair at least twice to stop my hair from getting dry. I always thought, if I oil my hair it will make it worse since my scalp is already very oily. But, to my surprise, it did nothing of that sort.

I use this oil thrice a week to avoid any extra oiliness in my hair but the company says the best results will show up if you use this oil every day. If you are like me, use it thrice a week and you will get a good result too. It has arrested my hair fall for about 60%.

The best thing about this oil is that it is non-sticky and does not cause any irritation to my scalp or facial skin. A great tip on hair-oiling for you would be- always apply hair oil on a clean scalp. Shampoo your hair first and then apply the hair oil the next day. It will allow the oil to come in contact with your scalp and provide nourishment.

When I massage my scalp with this oil, my hair looks and feels more manageable than ever after I wash my hair. It has a mild fragrance of herbs, mostly methi. The smell lingers for long even after a couple of washes.

Nivea Coloron Lip Crayons come in regular plastic lip crayon packaging. It is a fat, twist-up pencil with a transparent lid. Although the tip of the crayon still remains outside even after twisting the crayon down till the end which can damage the tip if you are inattentive while putting the lid on. What I liked about their packaging is that each crayon is colour-coded and also the transparent lids make it easier for you to pick your desired colour in a hurry.

My Experience with Nivea Coloron Lip Crayons-

If you are following me for a long time you’d know that I am obsessed with lip balms. I hate the feeling of chapped lips and I cannot step out of the house without moisturizing my lips. For daily use, I prefer tinted lip balms that protect my lips also give me some sort of colour to the lips. I cannot leave my house in bare lips. Mostly, I am into lipsticks but sometimes you just want to ditch the lipsticks and go for something natural-looking.

When I received the Nivea Coloron Lip Crayons, I was beyond happy because I found what I was looking for quite some time now. These crayons are insanely pigmented and oh-so hydrating. The longevity of these crayons is not very bad considering they are very soft and sheeny. The texture of these crayons is very smooth and creamy so that they don’t accentuate the creases on your lips. The crayons literally glide on your lips. You can lessen the shine by dabbing a tissue onto your lips or by applying some translucent powder on top. I like them as they are. These are also transferable. The colour fades to the edges after a meal, but they provide long-lasting moisture. Even after the colour is gone, your lips are hydrated. You can always reapply these whenever necessary.

Overall, these tinted lip balms are a must-try if you are looking for something like these within budget. I am very happy with the shades and the colour payoff. The moisture they provide is very satisfying.

Being a beauty blogger, I am always in search of new products to try out. For me, skincare has always been way more essential than makeup. I might now pick up the hottest lipstick or highlighter, but I’m always eager to explore new skincare launches. So, when I saw Nykaa came up with its own Korean sheet masks- Nykaa Skin Secrets Face Sheet Mask with some desi ingredients, I cannot hold my excitement. There was a two-for-two offer going on pre-ordering the sheets, so I got four of them. I am going to review the Gooseberry + Papaya for Nourished + Brightened Skin sheet mask today.

Being a beauty blogger, I am always looking for new skincare and makeup products to try and review on my blog for my readers. Recently, it has been 80% skincare and 20% makeup which I am really enjoying because as they say, the more flawless the canvas the prettier the painting (Ahem, I just invented it). Anyway, recently I saw some very interesting stuff launched by Nykaa. They launched their very own Nykaa Skin Secrets Face Sheet Masks. The sheet masks weren’t the interesting part but their desi ingredients were. I love how they have merged India and Korea in such a fancy way. All the ingredients used in these sheet masks are 100% originated from India and made to target specific skin concerns. Today, I am reviewing two of their 11 variants- Gooseberry+Papaya and Pear+Hyaluronic Acid

How to Use-

My Experience with Nykaa Skin Secrets Face Sheet Mask Range-

Now, let me tell you what I honestly feel about this particular range of sheet masks.

Packaging- The packaging is very nicely and meticulously done. An image of the key ingredients of the corresponding masks is printed on the packaging itself. Also, the name of the ingredients and the effects of the mask is also written boldly on the pack. So, the user is completely aware of what they are putting on their face and there is no room for confusions.

Fitting- The fitting of these sheets masks is what makes it my favourite. The holes are made keeping Indian face shapes in mind. A difficulty that I face with most of the Korean sheet masks is that the holes for the eyes are not wide enough to fit me. But Nykaa’s sheet masks have bigger eye holes so that they fit people with bigger eyes.

Consistency of the Serum/Essence- I have never used a sheet mask before that doesn’t come with a thick, hard-to-absorb serum/essence. My experience with Nykaa Sheet Masks was outstanding because the Nykaa face sheet masks are soaked in a serum that is very lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. The essence does not make my skin oily, it just adds the right amount of moisture.

From my childhood, I have been told numerous benefits of natural ingredients by my mother. She is all about DIYs. I remember she used to make a papaya mask for face and an amla concoction for the hair. I have seen papaya doing wonders for my face. It adds a healthy, natural glow to your face instantly.

I think this particular mask is very average when it comes to the results. I have not seen any visible or drastic change in my skin except for it made it really nourished and clean in a way. I have not seen any of my spots getting faded or skin clarity. Maybe with regular use, it can work on that front.

It might not make you fairer (because you know that’s not possible!) but definitely would brighten up your face a lot. The serum penetrates into the skin very quickly giving it the proper amount of hydration. This mask is a great option to get an instant pick-me-up before any party or occasion.

Overall, I loved both the masks for the instant glow that they provide. These masks are nothing extraordinary so don’t expect them to completely change your skincare game. Skincare and haircare start way early in our lives even before we realise its benefits. Nihar Extra Care hair oil is actually a coconut oil that dispenses through a mix of five different types of seeds when you try to take it out. In the next picture, you’ll get a clear idea. The seeds they have used are Methi, Sarson, Kalonji, Lauki and Til. Together with the coconut oil, they claim to nourish your hair, strengthen it and arrest hair fall. The base oil is coconut oil which alone has multiple hair care properties.

Tjori Night Skin Repair Elixir Review

Hi, guys! I am back with a new review after so long. I was kind of busy with getting my life back on track. If you read My Anxiety Story then you’ll know why I was away from the blog for quite some time. Now that I’ve started enjoyed every bit of my work once again, I am here with a review of the Tjori Night Skin Repair Elixir that I’ve been enjoying using for quite some time now.

Tjori is a brand that has come to prominence in the recent past. I have literally been bombarded with recommendations on Facebook lately and it has successfully intrigued me to some extent. Recently, in my May Fab Bag (watch the unboxing video), I received this tiny bottle of the Tjori Night Skin Repair Elixir that I first mistook it for a sample size product but soon realized it is a full size. Since then, I have been religiously using this product every night and I can see a visible difference that I’ll be sharing with you in this post.

Description- (As mentioned in their website) This powerful formula works at night when skin is most receptive to repairing itself from daily aggressors. It promises to restore and replenish for smoother, healthier-looking skin, all while you sleep.

Packaging- The Tjori Night Skin Repair Elixir comes in a small plastic bottle with a plastic screw cap. That’s how I received it from Fab Bag but when I visit the official website, I can see the cap is golden and seems to be metallic which is same in Nykaa and Kraftly. The bottle, being transparent, allows you to keep a check on the usage. The only thing that turns me off is the absence of a dropper or decent dispenser. I have always used night serums/treatments that come with a dropper and that is very convenient. Without a dropper, measuring and dispensing of the product becomes a tough and messy job.

Directions to use- Massage 1-2 drops onto face after cleansing. Can be used alone, or added to your favourite moisturizer or treatment. Use day or night.

Texture- Tjori Night Skin Repair Elixir is basically a light-weight facial oil that absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving any sticky residue. Being an oil, it definitely feels a little greasy which doesn’t bother at night. I prefer to skip it when it’s too humid outside. I would suggest oily skin people use it in the night only and dry skin people use it for day or night. It adds a bit shine to your face.

Effects of the Tjori Night Skin Repair Elixir on My Skin-

The reason we choose and concentrate on facial serums is that it penetrates deep into the skin, gets absorbed quicker than any other products and starts working sooner than any other product.

I have been continuously using this elixir on my face ever since I received it and I have seen a noticeable difference on my skin. As I have oily skin, I like to use it at night before bed. With this product, my night time skincare has become in the following order- cleanser, scrub, toner and then the Tjori Night Skin Repair Elixir. I have replaced my regular moisturizer with this treatment. It might feel oily at first but it soon seeps into the skin and gets absorbed leaving the skin replenished and plumped. It’s the best effect you will see the morning after. The next morning my skin looks bright and rejuvenated without any trace of oil.

Tasting New Mio Amore Food Items

Hey, guys! Hope you are doing well. Today, I will be talking about my favourite cake shop, Mio Amore. I know a lot of you must know about the brand. I have been their regular customer since I tasted them for the first time. I travel 20-25 kilometres just to have their Eggless Muffin as my nearest Mio Amore shop is situated in Kalyani. I am that obsessed with them.

As I live in the suburbs of Kolkata, my area doesn’t have many fancy bakeries. Mio Amore, thus, is the only source of quality baked goods within budget. I love how their items are always fresh and sold in a hygienic condition.

Recently, I tried some of their classics and new launches and thought of sharing a review with my readers. That was literally a treat to me because I had already tasted one or two of the items before. Now, it was my opportunity to tell the world how much I loved them.

Chunky Chicken Burger-

How many of you love crispy fried chicken over chicken patties as a filling in your burger? I do! The chicken piece is tender and juicy and covered with all the flavours they have infused. It has the perfect amount of sweet and spicy taste.

Price- ₹45/-

Multigrain Chicken Croissant-

This is something new in my opinion as I never found them in my nearest shops. This is basically a croissant made of multigrain flour and stuffed with spicy minced chicken. This item is really tasty and filling. The bread was fresh and firm but very soft.

Cheestix-

This is actually a box full of cheesy breadsticks that can very well be served as a snack or accompaniment. This thing is best when there are friends coming over and you’re not sure about what to binge on while chatting. This crispy, flaky, yummy Cheestix can be a great party-starter. The best thing is that they are baked, not fried.

Mango Cruffin-

If you are a mango lover then this is just perfect for you! A Cruffin is a term that basically stands for a mix of a muffin and a croissant or a muffin-shaped croissant to be precise. It is soft and flaky like a croissant filled with mango-flavoured cream which is sweetened to perfection. I loved this item!

Price- ₹40/-

Carrot Cake-

As you must know, Mio Amore is known and loved for their selection of cakes. This was my first time trying their carrot cake and I just loved it to the core. This is probably the softest cake I have ever tried. This is the yummiest, softest, moistest loaf of cake. The texture is quite similar to their Dates & Walnut cake but I found this to be my favourite as this is not too overpowering, just a blend of subtle flavours.
