Himalaya Herbals Winter Care Range- A Quick Look

Winter is here and I am pretty sure most of you are dealing with various skin problems, be it major or minor. I am someone who has dry skin during winters and combination during the rest of the year. So, my skin concerns would most definitely be different from yours. Gladly, at this time of the year, Himalaya herbals has come up with their entire range of Winter Care that has products for all skin types. Isn’t it great? If you are following me on my social media platforms (do check them out and show some love) then you must have already seen the huge box of goodies that Himalaya had sent to me. Today, I’ll be sharing all the details of the Himalaya Herbals Winter Care Range. So, are you ready? Let’s start-

Himalaya Herbals Winter Care Range can be divided into three categories- skin care, body care and lip care. I’ll be discussing all three of them separately.

Skin Care

 

The skin care category has four products in total- Winter Defence Moisturizing Cream, Nourishing Skin Cream, Clear Complexion Whitening Day Cream and Revitalizing Night Cream. The latter two are from their premium skincare range.

What it does?

An effective blend of herbal extracts that moisturizes even the extremely dry areas of your skin, Himalaya Herbals Winter Defense Moisturizing Cream is enriched with Wheat Germ, a rich source of Natural Vitamin E that protects skin from environmental damage. Jojoba Oil and Almond Oil repair and deeply nourish dry skin, keeping it soft and supple even during the harshest, winter months.

My Views-

This cream is very hydrating but doesn’t feel or look greasy. It nourishes my skin and helps control the appearance of dry patches on my skin. It stays put for a long time.

Nourishing Skin Cream

What it does?

Himalaya’s Nourishing Skin Cream is a light, nongreasy, daily-use cream, which provides all day moisturizing, nourishment and protection.

The cream is blended with the extracts of Aloe Vera, Winter Cherry, Indian Kino Tree and Indian Pennywort, which protect your skin from pollution and dry weather, providing nourishment and moisture.

My Views-

This cream is a light-weight version of the Winter Defence Moisturizing Cream. It is has a fast absorbing, moisturizing and completely non-greasy formula that I love.

Clear Complexion Whitening Day Cream

What it does?

My Views-

This is a part of my morning skincare routine now. I love how moisturizing it is on its own. You do not even require a separate moisturizing cream unless you have very dry skin. I don’t need any additional step to moisturize my skin when I’m using this.

Revitalizing Night Cream

My Views-

My Views on the Himalaya Herbals Winter Care body lotions-

All the three variants are very nourishing, penetrates deep into the skin, keeps the skin hydrated for a really long time. They might not feel very heavy on the skin but they make the skin look and feel healthy and moisturized. Among the three, the Cocoa Butter Intensive body lotion has a long-staying fragrance. All of them are non-greasy which is a great thing.

My Views on the Himalaya Herbals Winter Care Lip Balms-

Both the lip balms are extremely hydrating, the keep the lips well moisturized for hours (on my lips, they stay for approx 8 hours and survives drinks and light snacks). The Strawberry Shine lip balm has a slight hint of colour which won’t show on dark lips. I have a detailed review on all the lip balms from Himalaya Herbals. Check it out here.

Hi, guys! Hope you all are doing great. If you are following me for a long time, then you would know that I am a big fan of lip balms. This is something that I can not live without. I always carry a lip balm in my purse wherever I go. I have little dehydrated lips throughout the year. My lips get dry very easily. Plus, I am a matte lipstick lover and I want my lips to look nourished and plump whenever I apply a matte lipstick or matte lip stain. Thus, I cannot think my life without a lip balm. A couple of months ago, a brand called Island Kiss sent me a package containing three of their products. Today, I am going to review those three variants. So, let’s get started.

“Island Kiss is a Lip Care  Brand inspired by Tropical Beaches across the world, fragrant coasts, salty air and lush notes of fruit and flower.” Island Kiss manufactures great quality lip moisturisers. All their products are 100% natural, pure and organic. The best thing is that their products are not tested on animals. A big yay for that! The three variants that I received are Alma Vanilla & Inges Lavender, Cherry Blossom Flores and Puerto Berry Blush. I will be reviewing each of the variants individually.

Packaging- All the three variants of the Island Kiss lip moisturisers come in plastic, squeezy tubes with a screw cap closure. The applicator part is slanted resulting in a precise and easy application. Each tube has all the information like shade name, ingredients, direction to use written on it. So, you don’t need to worry if you lose the outer packaging.

I have been using the Island Kiss lip moisturisers for quite some time now and I have noted a few points about them that I am going to share with you now. First of all, do not expect them to be as hydrating as any other lip balm or chapsticks. These are lip moisturisers and they provide more lustre than hydration to your lips. Unlike a lip balm or lip butter, they are really light-weight. That’s why they are good for summers but in winters they cannot moisturise the lips very well and turns dry soon. These lip moisturisers are more like lip glosses. Apart from that, I like them for their lightweight property, they smell really good, they are organic, made of natural ingredients, do not contain lead, have SPF 15 and most importantly they are cruelty-free. The variants Cherry Blossom Flores and Puerto Berry Blush are more pigmented compared to the Alma Vanilla & Inges Lavender one. Puerto Berry Blush is my favourite of them all only because of the pigmentation and texture. It is also the most long lasting among the three.

Being gel/gloss like texture, you cannot wear them underneath your matte lipstick. They are good for daily use. The plastic tube packaging makes it perfect to travel with and also very hygienic. I would not recommend these if you are looking for something to try out this winter, but they are definitely great for summers. People with extremely dry or chapped lips should avoid them. I will repurchase the Alma Vanilla & Inges Lavender and Puerto Berry Blush whenever I run out of them.

How to Use- You have to pump it to dispense the product out of the bottle. The pump dispenses the product out through the brush-head in the form of foam. So, you don’t have to lather the product up within your palms, the entire thing is done for you. When you see the product getting out of the bottle through the brush-head, you have to apply it onto your face with the brush. It is recommended to use in upward strokes in circular motions.

My Experience with Organic Harvest Masseuscious Damage Control Cleanser-

Ever since I received this product, I have been using it twice a day. It cleanses the face quite effectively without making it dry or stretchy. The shea butter and olive oil in it make sure your skin has the perfect balance of hydration even after washing it off. The brush that the product comes with is really helpful in order to get the cleanser work on your skin. It makes sure that the strokes are gentle and your skin is not irritated throughout the cleansing process. The silicone bristles are really soft on the skin so it does not trouble any existing acne on your face. This product works nicely on oily/combination skin, it is really effective in removing excessive oil from the face, leaving it oil-free for a long time.  I generally wake up with a greasy face every morning, but using this cleanser at night has made a difference. I don’t notice that much oiliness on my face when I wake up in the morning. Using this product in the morning helps me achieve a fresh look throughout the day. Although this cleanser works wonders in removing dirt and oiliness from your face, it barely does anything to reduce or remove acne. My face has been breaking out a lot lately so I can clearly tell that this cleanser has done nothing for my breakouts. I must use this for another couple of weeks and see if it prevents the appearance of acne or reduces the frequency. I will update you guys if anything like this happens.

Overall, I quite liked the Organic Harvest Masseuscious Damage Control cleanser. Being an Organic Harvest products, this cleanser has the benefit of plants so you don’t need to worry about the ingredients. The ingredients are 100% safe. The attached brush is an added benefit as it massages the product with the right amount of pressure as well as it gently exfoliates your skin while cleansing. I really liked the idea. The only thing bothered me is the price. I think it is a bit expensive for some. Other than that, I liked this product and I will recommend this to you guys.

If you are familiar with my preferences then you must have understood by now that I have a predilection for products that are made with all natural ingredients to use on my skin. Time and again, I have expressed my love for natural skincare products and I have also reviewed some of them. Recently (okay, it’s been over a month :/), I received a couple of products from Junaili which is a Nainital based skincare brand. Today, I am going to review those two products which are their Apricot Body Scrub and Oil.

Junaili, as I said is a Nainital based oil-pressery that uses 100% natural ingredients for their products. Their Apricot Body Scrubs and Oils are made of the finest apricots found in the Kumaon Himalayas. The products are totally safe for your body, they do not contain any chemicals, parabens and artificial fragrance. Their products are made in small batches to preserve quality. Now that we know about the brand, let’s jump into the review.

Packaging- The Junaili Apricot Scrub comes in a plastic jar packaging with a metallic (most probably, aluminium), golden screw lid. The jar is sturdy and the lid closes tightly, striking out any chance of spillage. Here is a little trivia about their labels, their labels are hand-written and then photographed and enhanced in photoshop. How cool is that!

My Experience- As I already have said, I have been using their products continuously ever since I receive them, that is for over a month now. I use this scrub every alternate day to exfoliate my body. I use this especially for my hands and legs because those are the areas that are mostly exposed and I need exfoliate them religiously to get a smooth skin. The scrub comes in a powder form. To make the scrub ready to apply, I take out about a tablespoon of product and mix it with plain water. You can definitely use rose water or milk according to your preferences. I use plain water because I am very lazy. I hop into the shower, take some product onto my palm, mix it with tap water and apply gently, in circular motions to my damp body.Ever since I have started using this product, my whole shower experience has changed. My skin feels soft and supple after every use. My hands and legs are really dry and this scrub doesn’t make them even drier.

They have the right amount of coarseness to them so that they don’t irritate the skin.

Packaging- The packaging of this body oil is quite similar to the scrub except for that it comes in a plastic bottle and has a stopper inside the metallic screw lid. You have to open the outer lid first and then remove the stopper to take out the product. I have made a few tiny holes on the stopper which ensures that it dispenses the product in droplets. Again, this is a spillproof packaging. Being plastic packaging, these are easy to travel with.

My Experience- Although I have a very dry body skin, I am not a lover of oils. Psychologically, the thought of letting my body come in contact with any kind of oil makes me feel disgusted. But, when I received the Apricot Body Oil by Junaili, I though to of giving it a tr only because of its ingredient. I have been using this oil daily after shower and I love how it works for me. I am glad that I tried this oil out. I like to use it after the shower, after towel drying my skin when it’s still damp. Applying it on a damp skin ensures it gets absorbed by the skin completely and also in this way it doesn’t make the skin too oily.

A regular use of this oil has made my skin softer and more smooth, especially in this time of the year when my skin needed something more. This oil has a long lasting effect on my body. It hydrates my skin for the entire day till the night which is a great thing!

Overall, I loved both the products. Using both of them together regularly has worked really well for me. I can sure see the glow it has added to my skin and also my skin feels a less dry these days. I am really happy with Junaili’s products. I like their oil more than their scrub and I might be buying another bottle for the winter. Their body oil is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, they are full of anti-aging properties and are claimed to have the power of diminishing wrinkles. They are safe for children. The Product- The product is actually a green coloured, foaming gel. The texture is exactly like a gel, a little less concentrated. My Experience with Medimix Ayurvedic Face Wash

I use this face wash once a day, in the mornings. I like to wet my face first and then take a pea-size amount of the product and rub it between my palms, foam it up and then apply to the face. It instantly brings a healthy glow to my skin. I have been using it for more than a week and I can surely tell that it makes a difference. Overall, I liked the efficacy of the Medimix Ayurvedic Face Wash and I am looking forward to continuing using this in the future. Hey guys, hope you all are doing well. Today, I will be sharing my views on a range of products that I have been enjoying using for the past few weeks. It has been almost over a month since I started using the SkinCafe lip care products that they had sent me and now I think I am ready to share my final words. I know I took a long time but, that is how I work, I take too much time to review skincare products in order to understand the pros and the cons well and share a crystal-clear view on any product.

I am a lover of handmade skincare products. It gives me a feeling that I am doing something that is the best for my skin. When I received the package from SkinCafe, I was more than excited to try them out. I got three beautiful products from SkinCafe- Choco Chip and Cookies lip scrub, English Trifle lip butter and a Strawberry Shortcake tinted lip balm. Before starting with the review, let me tell you a few words about the brand.

SkinCafe.in is a brand that makes and sells handcrafted lip care products. They have a huge range of products across three categories i.e. lip scrubs, lip butter and tinted balms. All their products are named after some popular desserts. When you go to their website you would probably think that you have come to an online patisserie (check it out yourself, here). All their products are made after you place an order ensuring that you get the freshest products every time you place an order. I really liked this. Their products are cruelty-free, vegan and free from parabens. What more one could ask for? All the ingredients they use are listed on a separate page to avoid any vagueness and to ensure that there is always clarity between the manufacturer and the buyer.

Packaging- I am not going to lie, the packaging is the first thing that made me excited to try out the products. Each product comes in a cute little box with the illustration of a cupcake on each of them. It can give a tough competition to any luxury confectioner. As you open the box, you notice a small glass jar that contains the product. The packaging for all their products looks exactly the same. All of them come in glass jars with a plastic lid and labels. They all come in glass jars that are biodegradable but I did not find them the best things to travel with.

The SkinCafe Choco Chip and Cookies lip scrub is a product that works really well for chapped lips. There was a time when I was suffering from severely chapped lips even in summers. A regular scrubbing with this Choco Chip and Cookies has helped to reduce the dryness a lot. One can definitely notice softer and plumper lips right after using the scrub. I wet my lips first and then scoop out a little of the scrub with my fingers onto my palm and then massage it very gently onto the lips. If you ever feel that the scrub is dry, which happened to me at first, you can mix a drop of olive oil or coconut oil with the scrub and then apply it. The best thing about this Choco Chip and Cookies lip scrub is that it contains very fine scrubbing particles that do not feel harsh on the lips. More than that, this scrub smells divine, exactly like dark chocolate. It’s quite impossible to not lick it once. I tried that and believe me it does not taste like dark chocolate!

Ingredients- Candelilla Wax, Cocoa Butter, Sweet Almond Oil and Banana infusion.

I never found a lip balm that has the perfect consistency as butter in order to keep my lips hydrated for the longest time. It was only until I discovered this English Trifle lip butter from SkinCafe. This product does not only make my lips soft but also it keeps them moisturized for a long time. It stays on my lips for good 4-5 hours. Sadly, it does not survive a meal. This product has become my salve for the drier days. I would suggest you guys to try this at least once and you will know what I am trying to say. I never tried English Trifles so I don’t know what to expect from the fragrance of the product but, whatever it is, it smells good. This lip butter does not contain petroleum jelly.

Ingredients- Beeswax, Mango Seed Butter, Avocado Oil and Strawberry infusion.

The Strawberry Shortcake Lip Tint Balm from SkinCafe is supposed to be a tinted lip balm as you can tell from the name. This balm has a buttery consistency, glides on the lips smoothly making them soft and supple and adding a subtle hint of pink colour to them. The colour is not as intense as I had imagined but it’s quite natural and perfect for an everyday purpose. This balm makes my lips really hydrated. It smells exactly like strawberries!

Overall, I liked the range of products from SkinCafe. The fact that they are purely vegan, cruelty-free and free from harsh chemicals like parabens, excites me a lot to keep using them forever. I would highly recommend their products. They are worth a try. A regular use of this range of products has changed my lip care regime completely. My lips do not feel dry anymore. The price of the product may be on the higher side but they are totally worth it. If you are sceptical about trying them for the first time and also hesitating to pay such a price for a new brand, then you can try their Lip Care Combos which would be a smart choice. Each these combos contain three products from each category (scrubs, butters and tinted balms). Each combo is a set of three products of 3g each and retails at Rs 900. Texture and Consistency- The texture and consistency of the Himalaya Herbals Aloe & Cucumber Refreshing Body Lotion are really suitable for the summer. It is light-weight, has a lotion-y texture, not too thick nor too runny. I love it because it easily gets absorbed into the skin and does not at all feel like I have applied anything on my body. 

Fragrance- This product has a very refreshing, summery scent to it. The fragrance is not overpowering and lasts long.

Overall, I liked this new launch by Himalaya Herbals. The weightlessness of this lotion makes it my favourite lotion for summers. It barely feels like a lotion when applied, thus, it does not feel greasy. I have normal to dry skin and this body lotion provides the adequate amount of hydration to my body. It makes my skin touchably soft and hydrated. The best thing about this product is that it lasts long, for almost 5-6 hours on me. It also has a mild cooling sensation to it which makes me feel fresh every time I apply it. This product is meant for all skin types but I think it won’t suffice the needs of an extremely dry skin. I wish it had some sort of SPF to it.

My thoughts- The product is quite iridescent blue/teal in colour and the consistency is very nice, exactly like a gel. It’s not runny, so perfect to apply. The gel lathers really well. It has a musky smell which is not very flattering to me. I wish it had a more feminine fragrance. Although the scent does not stay long on me but the freshness and clean feeling last for hours. It cleans the skin really well, leaving it soft, supple and fresh. The thing I most liked about this shower gel is that it does not leave that soapy feeling after shower unlike most of the shower gels.

I really enjoyed my bath time using the Fiama Di Wills Shower Jewel Aquamarine Agleam. I think Fiama Di Wills has done a great job with the formulation and ingredients. It claims to result in a youthful skin. I found out that this shower gel makes my skin really soft, supple and hydrated. It did not dry out my skin, unlike other shower gels. It is like a conditioner for my skin.

Hi, guys! Hope you are doing great. Today, I am going to talk about my experience at the Club Salon where I went out to try one of their skin care treatments. If you are following me on Snapchat (Username- sayantinee) then you might have seen the whole story behind it. I also shared my thoughts there. I was looking for a good therapy for my skin as I was facing a lot of problems, one of them being dullness. My face was lacking that inner glow and it was looking really unhealthy. Recently, when I was invited to try one of the facial treatments offered by Club Salon, I readily agreed.

I decided to go for the Sarat Bose Road branch as it was more convenient for me than the other four. I went there on last Thursday. I had already an appointment there. It is great to make an appointment before you step in to save time and also you can ask for your preferred staff at the time of appointment. As soon as I reached there I was welcomed by their courteous staff. Then I was requested to make myself comfortable and offered a glass of water which, I felt, was really sweet and comforting.

Then, I was introduced to Doma, who was supposed to do my facial. She escorted me to the facial room. The room was prim and tidy and was smelling nice. There were dim lights which made the ambience very soothing and relaxing. Now, let me take you through the entire regimen, step-by-step.

At first, she examined my face to determine my skin type. She told me that I have a normal skin which was shocking as I have always known that I have a combination skin! Anyhoo, she also told me that my face is a bit tanned. After examining my face, she chose the suitable O3+ products for the facial. She first cleansed my face with a cleansing lotion and then applied a de-tanning mask made of Eucalyptus and camphor. The mask has a bit of cooling and burning sensation and also a strong scent. She left the mask on my skin for about 10 minutes and then wiped it off with a wet washcloth.

Now, she applied another mask which, I was told, has a skin whitening property. It was basically a peel-off mask that was also wiped off after 10-15 minutes. Next, another mask was applied which had whitening and brightening benefits. After leaving it for 10-15 minutes, she started massaging my face with a massage cream which is mainly made to make your skin glow from the inside. The massage was really relaxing and rejuvenating that I almost fell asleep. It was quite obvious, from the strokes she used, that she is a very skilled lady and also has a lot of experience. I can’t exactly recall how many minutes she spent on massaging my face but it was definitely 15-20 minutes. After the massage was over, all my fatigue was gone and there was an instant glow to my skin which was so evident.

I really liked the hour-long (probably, more) session. This particular ‘Shine & Glow from Agelock’ facial regime will cost you approximately Rs2,900 which is totally worth spending considering the result it offers.

They have free shipping on $40 for Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam and the USA and on $60 for the rest of the world.  Throughout their process of dispatch and delivery, they kept me posted about all the steps. It took exactly 12 days for the products to reach me from the date of dispatch which is great. Depending on your location and preferred shipping method, it generally takes from 6- 17 days for the products to reach you. My package which was marked as ‘gift‘ did not cost a penny for customs.

Beauty Friends II Essence Mask Sheet Pack (Royal Jelly)-This sheet mask is supposed to moisturize your face and it does that perfectly. The description tells you to apply it on a well-cleansed face and leave it there for 20-30. You are not supposed to rinse your face off after removing the mask, allowing the nutrients to soak into your skin. This mask made my skin soft and supple. I applied it in the night and the effect lasted till the next morning. This mask is priced at $0.80.

Four Season Multi Vita Brightening Active Mask- This mask, as the name suggests, contains multi vitamins such as Vitamin B5, Vitamin C and Vitamin E which are known to work wonders for your skin. This mask is supposed to do a lot of things like whitening, regeneration, antibacterial wound treatment, anti-aging, moisturizing, prevention of acne, prevention of allergy and immunity control. I just used this for once and I have only noticed a revitalized skin after using it. It does not do anything to the complexion of your skin. This is priced at $0.95.

Luke Mugwort Nose Cleansing Strip // Luke Lemon Tea Tree Nose Cleansing Strip- I never used a nose strip before I got to try these. You have to apply it on slightly wet nose for them to stick to the nose perfectly. You need to let them sit there until they become dry and then you have to pull them off the nose. I showed a demo of it on my Snapchat if you remember. Both the strips works amazing on blackhead and whiteheads. They remove them perfectly. Yes, it hurts a bit but it is definitely worth the pain. I am looking forward to getting a box full of them! The Lemon tea tree one has a strong tea tree fragrance which some of you may not like. I did not have any problem with that. They are priced at $0.65 each.

It’s Skin Todak Todak Pack Nutrition (Wash-Off Mask) with Honey and Coconut- If you guys follow me on Snapchat you will know the whole process of me trying this mask for the first time. It is basically a gel based face pack, almost has a jelly-like texture to it and it is transparent. It doesn’t dry off on your face, unlike other wash-off masks. When I tried it for the first time,  I was not satisfied with it. But, after that, I found it to be great for my skin. It moisturized my skin very well, plus, it made my skin tighter. It can be used as a wash-off mask and also as a sleeping mask. It feels a bit warm on the and extremely hydrating. This pack contains coconut and manuka honey. It comes in a 10ml packaging which good for at least two uses. I used it for four times. This one is a bit pricey, $2.85 for a 10ml pack.

Overall, I liked these products from Skin18.com a lot. All these products are tested to treat various skin problems. I myself have seen and experienced good results on my skin. They did not cause any allergies or breakouts. I am looking forward to trying their eye-patches and more sheet masks. I highly recommend the sheet masks* from Skin18.com.
