Hello guys, thank you for coming back to my blog. I am here with a new review post for you. I have already showed a lot of behind the camera activities while clicking pictures for the post. I love my hair and who does not? I always promise myself to keep a proper hair care regime and to pamper my hair a little bit more but I always fail in keeping the promise. I am a lazy person, very lazy. Ever since I started saving money, I wanted to colour my hair but I was afraid of the chemicals and ammonia present in the so called hair colours. It was until I found a natural product that is ammonia-free and really effective. It is the Prem Henna Kaveri Hair Henna.

About the brand, Prem Henna- “Prem Henna is a leading manufacturer and supplier of premium quality hair color products & skin care products. Our wide range of hair color products like powder and crème hair colors in various shades provide consumers with a wide range of options to cover their greys. Our henna and henna-based hair color products are absolutely free from ammonia (no ammonia).”
This brand has a variety of products for hair care and skin care. Their Kaveri and Prem Dulhan henna cones are for your hands and feet, they have creme-based hair colour named Nisha and Enega Brilliance, henna-based hair colour named Kaveri, So Silk shampoo and Elois hair removal cream.
I have used the Kaveri Hair Henna and So Silk shampoo.

Kaveri Hair Henna review-

Kaveri hair henna hair colour looks like the usual henna powder that are easily available in the market. The packaging is just an ordinary plastic sachet packaging which needs to torn apart in order to take the product out. Each sachet contains 15 grams of product. For my medium-length thin hair I needed one full sachet. You will need two packets if you have long, thick hair.
The Kaveri hair henna comes in two colours- one is Natural Black and another is Natural Brown. I chose the shade Natural Brown as I don’t like the stark black colour in my hair. As soon as you mix it it will turn into a dark brown coloured paste. It might look scary or at least it seemed scary to me because I never coloured my hair before. I applied it to my hair with the help of my hands (obviously wearing a pair of gloves). The application was quite easy, it was not messy at all. I think it is more convenient to use your hands than using a brush. Thus you can reach each and every strand easily. I let the paste dry off completely, it took me almost 40 minutes for that and then rinsed it off in the shower using the So Silk shampoo.

The result was really good and apparent. It made my hair soft and silky. It did not make my hair rough but I prefer applying a conditioner right after washing it off to prevent any chance of frizz. For the hair colouring part, I would say it was not quite visible as my hair is naturally dark brownish so I could not observe any noticeable change in the hair colour. But, I could observe a slight brown tinge in my locks when exposed to direct sunlight. This colour lasted for about 15 days. I do not have grey hair so I cannot really tell you if this henna covers up grey hair or not.

THE RESULT- Visible where the sun hits the hair

I won’t give five stars to this product because I caused me hair-fall during the hair wash procedure.

Ups–

  • Ammonia free hair colour.
  • Natural ingredients.
  • Doesn’t make hair rough.
  • Makes hair soft and silky.
  • No-fuss process.
  • Takes less time to dry.
  • Lasts for almost a couple of weeks.

Downs-
Caused hair-fall.

Overall, I quite liked the Kaveri Hair Henna as it’s natural, ammonia-free and does not do any harm to my hair. If you have never coloured your hair and are planning to do it, I would suggest you to try this out rather than trying those chemical-based hair colours available in the market. Maybelline Baby Lips  lip balms have been my absolute favourites since they came to the Indian market. I have always beena fan of their cute packaging, fruity smell and great texture. So, when I was approached for reviewing this new launch I was really excited. Guys, let’s not waste your time anymore and let’s get straight in to the review.

Packaging- The Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow lip balms are housed in a cute, plastic twist up packaging. It’s somewhat similar to the classic Baby Lips packaging but it has been given a chubby stick/lip crayons style packaging which I found is really cute, cool and offbeat. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly. Every shade variant comes with a different packaging in terms of colour. The one I received came in a bright, peach coloured packaging doing complete justice to the shade of the balm inside.

Under Direct Sunlight (Left- Single Swipe, Right- Multiple Swipes)

Shade- Maybelline has launched 5 shades of these balms- Raspberry, Mixed Berry, Cherry, Peach and Orange. I received the one is the shade Peach. It’s a pale peachy shade as the name suggests. Sadly, the shade doesn’t suit me at all. It’s way too pale for my skin tone. 
Texture/ Pigmentation/ Wear Time- The texture of this balms are really good. It’s not waxy or sticky and glides on smoothly. Maybelline has successfully maintained their quality of lip balms with these new ones too. I really like the formula of this new Candy Wow balms. They are claimed to be formulated with Vitamin E which protects the lips from drying.
As I mentioned earlier, the one I received is in the shade peach and is decently pigmented. You can’t expect it to be as pigmented as a lipstick, even the least pigmented ones but the colour pay-off is surely a tad bit more than the other coloured lip balms, even better than Maybelline’s Electro Pop ones. Another great thing is that the balm pigments the lips uniformly from start to end.
I am quite happy with the staying power. It stays for almost 3 to 3.5 hours on my lips without any heavy meals. The colour stays upto 2 to 3 hours but the hydration lasts for a longer period.  
Ups-
  • Cute, attractive packaging.
  • Smells really nice like fruits/candies. 
  • Quite pigmented for a lip balm.
  • Glides on smoothly.
  • Enriched with Vitamin E.
  • Keeps lips hydrated and nourished for a decent period of time. 
  • Helps heal dehydrated lips.
  • Makes lips look visibly healthier. 
  • Survives light snacks and drinks. 
Downs-
This particular shade does not suit me. I think this shade is good for anyone who has a fairer skin tone. It looks really pale on me. 
Overall, I would not say that it is an exceptional product in terms of quality but the packaging is definitely a standout. The chubby stick/crayon packaging is all over the market, trending day by day. So, I won’t be surprised if people go for them even if they have to pay more for the same quality they get in the original Baby Lips. I am impressed with the Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow bacause the packaging looks really cute and most importantly because they are meant to hydrate your lips for over a longer period of time and they are true to their claims. They do nourish the lips very well and make them look visibly healthier.. I really love fruity smells in my lip balms but if you don’t then you should stay away from these. You should get them if you like to switch your regular lip balms with the one with a cute, funky packaging. I would probably repurchase it again but in different shades. I would like to try Raspberry and Orange next.

Hello people, hope you are doing well. First of all, I want to apologize as I got too busy after the holidays and could not wish you all individually. So, sorry for that. Thanks to all those who wished me. Happy New Year to all of you!

I have taken a resolution of publishing all the pending posts this year. So, I am up with a long-pending review which I am going to share with you now. 
I received a bunch of sachets of the So Silk shampoo from the brand Prem Henna a couple of weeks ago. I got too busy, I don’t even remember why, thus the delayed post. Today, I thought of sharing with you a quick yet detailed review of this shampoo.
Price- Rs 1/- for each sachet
As I said earlier, I got a bunch of sachets of this shampoo and not a bottle. I don’t think they have started manufacturing bottles yet. I hope they do it soon. The packaging is nothing exceptional, just the regular plastic sachet packaging.

The product is a cream shampoo with the benefits of soy milk protein. The soy milk protein helps in nourishing your hair from the roots, making it stronger and healthier. This shampoo is for all hair types, it worked well for my dry, frizzy hair. The packaging looks quite similar to that of a popular brand, but it differs in many ways. First of all, So Silk shampoo does not have any strong, chemical-ly fragrance, rather it has a very soothing, mild fragrance that will instantly remind you of ayurvedic or herbal products. I loved how it made my hair smell so fresh. The fragrance lingered for quite a long time. 
The So Silk shampoo lathers really well. You can feel it’s cleaning your hair really well. It made my hair softer right after the wash. After drying completely I noticed my hair was looking nourished and rejuvenated. But, there are a couple of things I did not like about this shampoo. 
  • They can’t be used alone without conditioners. Rather, conditioning is a must after using this shampoo. It might cause hair fall while combing if you don’t use any conditioner. 
  • I am not comfortable with sachet packaging.
I hope they come up with conditioners from this range and also introduce bottle packaging soon. Overall, I liked the shampoo. It is a good option if you are looking for safer products for your hair within budget. Let me know what you feel about this product.

So, last week I got an opportunity to meet Ajoy at the South City Mall, Kolkata and get a makeover done by him. I couldn’t be happier! On meeting we greeted each other then he went on introducing me to the Givenchy cosmetics. That was my first time to a Givenchy counter. I was head over heels in love with the cosmetics waiting there for me. Ajoy showed me some of their classics and also some of the new launches and both of the categories were absolutely to die for. I got to see and touch their Le Rouge lipsticks, the ones with gorgeous black leather packaging for the first time. Here are some pictures of the products-

After we had discussed about the products and the brand, we headed straight to the makeover session. We decided on to go for a neutral yet gorgeous Christmas Party Look with neutral eyes and bold lips. My favourite! 
He started off by cleansing my face in order to remove any trace of makeup from my face. Then he went on to apply a serum to my face. He said serum works better than moisturizers because they sink into your skin quickly and effortlessly. Thus it gives a natural look to the makeup you put on afterwards. Then he applied another product from their Hydra-Sparkling range which hydrated my skin and gave it a glow instantly. My skin was so soft, supple and radiant after the skincare session. [All products will be listed at the end of this post.]
Coming to the makeup part, he began with priming my face so that the makeup stays for the longer period of time. Then he went off straight to the eyes as we were going to work with shimmery shades and it was obvious that there might be some fall-outs. First, he applied a black kohl pencil as close to my lash-line as possible and also between the eyelashes to give it a smokiness. Instead to drawing a proper line, he chose to smudge it a bit while proceeding towards the inner corner of my eyes. Then he went on to apply a dark brown shade from one of their Prisme Quatour eyeshadow quads to the outer corner of the eyes and blended it inwards leaving the inner portion nude . Then he took a shimmery orange shade on the inner corners outwards till about half way across the lids. Keeping it nude with no dark color helps to keep the light/ bright color and intensity/pop of color. Then from another quad he took a pale gold eye shadow and applied it to the inner corners of my eyes to give it some pop of colour and at the same time it gave an illusion of wider eyes. He chose a pencil liner over a liquid liner to line my eyes. We opted for a brown eyeliner as it seemed to look more natural. Then he went to the chocolate brown shade again and went over that liner and smudged it a bit creating a diffused wing at the end. With the same dark brown shade he lined the outer half of my lower lash line and for the inner half he used the same pale gold shade. As there was a lot of shimmer going on on the eyelids he decided to choose a matte compact powder to define my brow-bone area. He finished it off with applying a few coats of mascara. He also defined my brows. The finished look was so beautiful and that too using a few products. Here is a closer look to the eye makeup before mascara-

After the eyes, he started doing my base makeup. He started with applied a foundation to the center of my face- forehead, nose, cheeks and chin then began blending it well to the rest of the face. Then he applied a dust of loose powder to set the makeup, a bronzer to define my cheek bones and give a bit of structure to my face and finally he finished off with a bit of blush on to the apples of my cheek to give some flush to my face. For lipstick, I chose to wear something other than red so I ended up choosing a bright coral shade as it was matching my outfit. Here is the finished look-

Things that I learnt from Ajoy Sengupta-
  • Let your moisturizer sink in to your skin before you start your makeup.
  • A hydrating serum is always better than a moisturizer because it sinks in to the skin very well.
  • Start applying the foundation from the center of your face as the light hits the center first.
  • Lining the lower lash line completely would make you eyes appear smaller. Instead, line it half way through with darker colour and add lighter colours towards the inner corners.
  • Applying light shimmery shades to the inner corners would make your eyes appear winder.
  • Don’t skip contouring your face as it gives a depth and definition to your face, especially if you are going to be clicked. 
  • Lastly, do not skip your skincare regime. A properly maintained skin is the best canvas for any makeup.  
I will try following these tips and incorporate a lot of his techniques to my makeup routine. It was really a fun time learning about makeup with Ajoy. This makeup look is also suitable for New Year’s Eve.

Hey guys, today I am back with another review. Today, I will be reviewing the newly launched pressed powder by Maybelline, which is the Maybelline White Superfresh 12hr Whitening+Brightening Compact. Ah, a mouthful!
If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook then you might have seen a photo of this compact I shared and told you that I was trying it out. After trying that for almost half a month, I am finally ready with my review.

Maybelline recently launched their White Superfresh compacts that they claim to keep you fair and fresh for 12 hours. The compact comes in three shades- Pearl (for Light to Medium complexion), Shell (for Medium complexion) and Coral (for Medium to Dark complexion). When I was asked to chose my shade, I was a bit confused so I chose Shell which is the medium shade. I was not sure about it because I don’t really like my compacts to be lighter than my skin tone. Let’s get into the review now-

Packaging- The Maybelline White Superfresh compact comes in a cute white plastic packaging. It comes with a regular white puff and a mirror which comes in handy during touch ups. There is nothing extraordinary about the packaging.

Texture/Coverage/Staying Power- This compact has a very smooth finish to it. The powder is finely milled and does not look chalky. It settles into a powdery finish which you won’t like if you have very dry skin or uneven skin. It does not bother me because I have a combination skin type and I don’t use my compacts for coverage, I just lightly dust it to set my base makeup.

The White Superfresh compact gives a sheer to light coverage which again is okay for me as I already told you that I don’t use my compacts for coverage. It doesn’t give a good coverage but it definitely makes your skin look brighter. It instantly brightens up the entire face which gives an illusion of fairer skin tone. The presence of a mineral called Perlite in the compact causes that instant radiance to the skin. 

Coming to the staying power, I won’t say it lasted on me for 12 hours but it definitely lasted on me for 6-7 hours. For the oil-control part, I applied it at 8:30 am and went to the university, at around 12pm I felt a little oiliness around the t-zone so I touched up very lightly. I checked again around 3pm and observed some shine around my nose and forehead. I must state that I have normal to dry skin during this time of the year and combination skin during the rest of the year. I don’t think this compact would last on me for that long during summer. I would love to see how many hours it stays on me in summer. The brightening effect definitely lasts for a longer period of time. 
The company also claims that this compact contains UV filters that helps protect the skin for sun-damage.

  • Doesn’t look cake-y when applied.
  • Instantly brightens up the face.
  • Helps control sebum for at least 6-7 hours with touch ups. (varies)
  • Have UV filters.
  • Cute, travel-friendly packaging.
  • Comes with a puff and a mirror.
  • Inexpensive.
  • Easily available.

Downs-

  • Coverage could have been better.D
  • Does not stay for 12 hours as the brand claims.
  • Limited shade range.
Overall, I am impressed with the product because it brightens up my face instantly and effectively and also because it keeps oiliness at bay for a decent time. I don’t about others but I don’t really need my compacts to stay on me for 12 hours on a daily basis. I would suggest you to try this compact once. I am sure you will like it.

It’ll put you in a happy mood before you can begin to ponder any of the challenges that you might encounter over the course of your day. When you’ve had your fill of music, throw on your running gear and get out of the house. You can jog to a particular location and back, or map out a circuit and do a couple of laps around it.  1. Butter Creme Whipped Soap (Full Size) : This is something I have been craving for since their launch. A soap in the form of whipped cream is beyond amazing. I have not tried it yet but believe me, it smells divine! I will post a full-fledged review on this one once the testing period is over.

2. Vitamin E Hydrating Face-wash (50ml): This face wash is a treatment-in-a-bottle if you have dry skin. In winters, my skin behaves in an exactly opposite way than how it does in summers. It’s dry, flaky and extremely unhealthy during the cold months. I have been washing my face with this face wash ever since I got it and I can tell you that I am really loving it. It’s thick, lathers really well and keeps my face hydrated. Good job, Gia Bath & Body Works!
3. Oceanus Shower Gel (50ml): This one smells D-I-V-I-N-E! I had to write this in caps because I can’t make you smell is shower gel. It has a calming aroma that lingers for almost a couple of hours on me. I will definitely buy a full size of this once I finish this bottle up.

4. Yogurt Hydrating Face Mask (15gms): This is a face mask that supposed to hydrate your skin as you can assume from the name. This comes in the form of a dust that you need to mix up with rose water or normal water, make a paste and apply as a mask. I have not tried it yet bu I think I am going to love this.
5. Cuticle Butter (Full Size): This is, as you can tell from the name, is a cuticle butter that has a balm-y texture. As the description card says, it is made of shea and cocoa butter with sweet almond oil. I am yet to try this product but I am totally in love with the aroma. I will let you guys know my final thoughts on it very soon.
