Hi, guys. Happy Friday! Hope you had an amazing week. Today, I am going to talk about an Instagram store called Rutuz Craft Studio and the products available there. Also, there is a discount code for you guys in the end of this post. So, keep reading!

I am always on Instagram, posting pictures, liking others’ and exploring pages. One of my favourite things to do on Instagram is to find stores that sell unique items, from cute phone covers to jewellery. Recently I was contacted by this page called Rutuz Craft Studio to check out their feed and the jewellery they stock. They also asked me if I could review their products and let you guys know about them. How could I have said no to those pretty baubles! After knowing that they are totally hand-crafted. You guys know, I am obsessed with handcrafted things. I think they have the most powerful impact. After all, fashion is not only about wearing things, it’s also about feeling and loving what you are wearing.

I received these three things from them-

The technique used to make this beautiful neckpiece and bracelet is called crochet technique. It is a mesh of copper wires holding the small, pretty glass pearls. The design might look flimsy at first but that is not the face at all! Both the neckpiece and the bracelet are really sturdy and they are also very flexible. They are supposed to be moulded to the neckline and wrist in order to get the perfect shape and flawless look. The earnings have a French back closure that is great as I tend to loose all my push-backs.

The best thing about these baubles is that they can be paired with almost any type of outfit- be it western, ethnic or fusion. You can wear it to style a classy off-shoulder dress or a saree. Crafted using a minimalist design, these baubles are great for using both daytime and night time and for almost every occasion.

If you are not someone who loves to accessorise but there is some special occasion where you want to wear some jewellery then you can certainly try these out because they are very light-weight (you can’t believe until to hold them yourself, even the earrings feels heavier than the neckpiece), very minimalistic and really classy. Women of almost any age can wear these.

Rutuz Craft Studio has many other handmade pieces of jewellery stocked at their Instagram store that you can check out. They all are handmade. From earrings to hand harnesses, there is a huge variety of stuff to choose from. I am sure you will like their collection.

Now, for the most exciting part. Rutuz Craft Studio has decided to offer a 10% discount on their entire collection to my readers. All you have to do is mention the *secret* discount code which is cherry10 while buying from them. You can shop from them by contacting their store on Instagram (handle- @rutuzcraftstudio) or you can also shop via Whatsapp.

I hope you guys loved this piece of information. I will be back with a new post this week. Till then, be safe & keep smiling!

Hello, all! It’s been a long time since I talked about fashion. So, I thought why not talk about some fashion that would be best for the upcoming monsoons. Dressing up for work in monsoons is a headache. You can’t wear anything to  your office unless if you have a very cool boss! Today I’ll be talking about ethnic wears that you can add to your workwear closet. All the pieces I talked about in this post are completely budget-friendly so that you don’t have much to think about before heading to buy them. Let’s start-

Monsoon, to me, comes with a dose of fresh colours such as bright greens, yellows and blues. I can easily relate to  nature- drenched with fresh shower, cool breeze and a bit of sunshine. Depending on my choice of colours, here I have picked a few of my favourite Kurtis from Rangriti that you would love to check out-

Ethnic Workwear for Monsoon| cherryontopblog.com

This high-low asymmetrical Kurti comes in a neon green colour which I found is perfect to brighten up a gloomy monsoon morning. Pair it up with churidar or a palazzo depending on your own preference.

Somehow, I have a leaning towards white clothes. I know it can easily get dirty on the muddy roads of India but I cannot overlook a white garment if I am shopping for myself. To me, whites are perfect for every season. Monsoons might bring frequent rainfall but you can’t ignore the humidity. So, wearing a white will be comforting for you.

Orange is again a very vibrant colour to cheer you up in a monsoon day. It’s also something that you can easily wear to work. A perfect everyday wear ethnic, isn’t it?

Yellow is another of my favourite colours for daytime dress-up. This particular colour of this Kurti has a slight neon hint to it which is making it more appealing. The white motifs are subtle and not clumsy which makes it perfect for work and also for the humid weather.

This one is my absolute favourite because of the indigo colour and simple prints. Blue is my favourite colour and I like to incorporate blue in almost everywhere. One can style this up in multiple ways, with salwars, churidars, palazzos and also maxi skirts.

Rangriti has a great collection of different types of kurtis, kurtas, palazzos, jackets, dupattas and other ethnic garments. They have a variety of fabrics, colours and designs for every occasion that too within budget. Their kurtis start at only Rs 250, can you imagine! I insist you go through their collection once. I am in love with their everyday wear kurtis.

Monsoon is a season that comes as a relief with a lot of freshness, fragrance and tranquillity. It definitely has its downsides, every season has but you cannot refuse to be grateful to monsoon. I hope you pull off all your ethnic looks beautifully in this monsoon. Till then, be safe & keep smiling!

Hi, guys! I am here again with a new post. If you follow me on my social medias (If you don’t then please do) you will know that I wasn’t feeling well for the past couple of days and that resulted in a heap of pending posts. Now, I am having restless days and sleepless nights just to catch up with all the work that I missed out.

Tonight I am going to talk about the sunglasses I’ve been wearing ever since Summer arrived and I am also getting a lot of questions about where I got them from. So, I thought of dedicating one full post on my favourite sunglasses ever. Get ready!

Also, when you register with them, your get first eyeglasses frame absolutely free. My boyfriend and I have have been their loyal customer for about two years now. The reason we love Lenskart is their range of products, all of them are genuine and also, there is always some discount. You must check out their range of sunglasses for women. You will definitely fell in love with it.

Vincent Chase Reflectors from Lenskart

These blue Vincent Chase reflectors are very lightweight, sits perfectly and comfortably on my nose and does not hurt. The blue tint gives a cooling effect to my eyes when in the sun. I have a very sensitive pair of eyes that turns red and watery when I step out of my home without sunglasses that have a very dark tint to it. These sunglasses protects my eyes from the harshness of the sun and my eyes never feel itchy or watery when I put these Vincent Chase Reflectors on. The price, I believe, is 1499INR for this pair.

THE FEMININE CHARM OF WESTERN AND BLACK DRESSES

We in India, have always had a particular mindset when it came to dressing, actually not only dressing, if we think about it broadly then we are greatly influenced by our cultural beliefs and our traditions and not to forget that India being a secular country with so many religions and states, our food, festivals, language and of course are clothing depend on it. Every state has its own cultural dress that is the pride of it and not only that the habitat and environment plays an important role too. For example, me wearing a short dress in a metropolitan city like Mumbai will not raise eyebrows and me wearing even a pair of jeans in some rural village of Haryana will grab the attention of all.

However, Western dresses have always been in the limelight of women and men both. The attraction, sensuality and gorgeousness that western dresses reflect are not equivalent to any form of other women dresses. Take Indian dresses, for example, these are more associated with ethnicity and sophistication, while other eastern are more cultural and traditional which reflect the value system of their roots. Dresses from the west are more refined in terms of their creativity, imagination, newness, and a vogue sense, every time they are manifested on the ramp walks people get more influenced by them. Their originality and artistry are the prime builders of western dresses which have brought it worldwide recognition and acknowledgement.

From the very early ages, when we used to study at schools, we got inveigled by western dresses in one or the other form. From mini dresses to maxi dresses, from floor length gowns to black dresses, all have an influencing effect on our heart and mind. The first impression that western dresses create stay for so long in one’s brain that it keeps on growing with age and time. Be it a man or a woman, both of them continue to strive to dress up in western dresses, especially in black dresses for most of their occasions and events.

Even I remember one of my instances when my mom dressed me up for a school fancy dress competition and she had no idea how to dress me up, she simply made me wear a black dress and asked me to wave my hand in front of the audience and say, “Hi everyone, I have just landed from America and I am so pleased to meet you all”. Gosh!!! I still remember the words, the dress and the attitude that I had (I guess I was in the third grade). I never had an idea at that time that western dresses have got the energy to arouse the audience to applaud for me so loudly, despite the fact that I did not deliver a proper dialogue and the whole costume had no base, and still I was chosen among top 5. Wow!!! I felt like on the seventh heaven. I am sure if the same happens today, if a third standard girl won’t get applauses then she would definitely be proposed by one or two fellow mates, all thanks to black dresses!!! And the funny part was, after the competition when I went back off the stage to change my school uniform, I lost my skirt… Oh!!! That was the terrible part, the whole day I stayed in that black dress in my school and all my co-mates kept on pulling my leg and teased me by saying that I must have left my skirt in America only. God!!! What time was it, so funny and entertaining, that was the first time I fell for the black dresses, as I was getting so much attention from everyone because of my ultimate looks? All thanks to mommy and my lost skirt!!!

GROWING RELATIONSHIPS OF BLACK DRESSES

The black dresses have gained their popularity for both times of the day, from usual busy daytimes to the romantic evening night times. These are always associated with royalty, affluence, richness, attraction, sensuality, classiness, and much more. It is quite impossible to find someone who does not love to wear black dresses irrespective of the gender, men love to adorn black suitings while women have got their eyes always on little black dresses. Today, I will show you some of the instances that how black dresses grow among both genders with their age, and how it adds the charm to their relationship.

1. AS INNOCENT KIDS

Childhood is the most wonderful time of one’s life, the most worry-free life anyone can ever enjoy. During childhood, a number of times we are supposed to take part in school functions, as fancy dress competitions (as I have narrated my incidence), group dance events which have competed with other schools, and even school parties which are occasionally held for young little futures of the country. Even to a family wedding or events, kids are seen clothed in black dresses as their common staple. On such occasions, black dresses are definitely a part of the costumes for one or the other reason.

A black gown or a floor length dress is used for the girls while complete formal suitings are donned by the little men (Just as in the above pictures). Both are dressed in western attires and showcasing their personality and charm of being the most stunning kids ever. Black is gracing them beautifully and reflects their possible future traits of turning out to be the next heartthrobs of the world.

2. AS BLOOMING BUDS

Why Black Dresses are a Staple in Our Wardrobes| cherryontopblog.com

The young teenagers are the next inspirations to beautify black dresses in their outfits. Prom nights are the most sensational and in-demand events by the teenagers, they love to perform, participate and showcase their alluring personalities at such events. The most important aspect of the prom night is the dress code, and most of the times it is kept as black for men, and red for women, but there are certain instances when the prom nights are specially arranged in black dresses for both the genders.

Prom night, where the boy and the girl are expected to come as a couple, both holding each other’s hands and enter the prom night venue. To get that special moment of holding hands of the lady crush is one and the only option for the boy, for which he pleads the girl and tries to impress her in his utmost best attire. A black formal suiting with a bow tie never proves to be a failure and he gets the lucky chance to befriend with the young lady. The young lady too chooses her perfect little black dress and completes the couple with her divine charm and adorable presence.

3. MATURE ENOUGH TO GET MARRIED

Why Black Dresses are a Staple in Our Wardrobes| cherryontopblog.com

When the couple turns 30, the maturity strikes, the feeling of responsibility arises, starts earning their own bread and butter and feels like settling down with someone special forever. But the charm of black dresses never disappear, it continues to grow with them and evolves out as one of the most loyal colours they could ever dream of. The couples plan their evening dates, and under the grey clouds, shining stars they compliment the time by adorning the charming and royal black dresses for their lifetime memories.

The black dresses give them the power to feel connected with them, and watch the longevity of their relationship. It stays with them during their thick and thin times and continues to keep them strong and keep on reminding their never ending love and bond. This is the true charm of black dresses which has stayed with them since their childhood and is still with them until their late 50s.

4. HAVE GONE EXPERIENCED

Why Black Dresses are a Staple in Our Wardrobes| cherryontopblog.com

Nothing feels good except growing old together. Being someone’s last love is beyond perfect, and this is the true essence of a long lasting relationship. Little Black Dresses even justify their role here by adding their grace even in the old ages. When old-aged couples feel like strolling in the park or the local streets holding hand in hand, they love to wear black, when they plan to reunite with their high school and older group then again black dresses come back into existence, while planning to attend a concert or event, then again their best friend is black.

Seasons come and seasons go, patterns change, maybe the length of your dress changes too, no matter what age bracket you fall into, one clothing item that remains constant is an LBD. Black grows with the couple, sees their highs and lows, be a friend to them in all happy and sad occasions yet keeping them close all life long. This is how black dresses are always given importance and stay eternal no matter what.

Shopping western dresses have always been a daily regime for many women, who are either professional or homemakers, as these western dresses are needed by all. Stalkbuylove is such one online shopping website which offers such necessities in varied range and styles for the women to shop. Also, it offers a wide assortment of black dresses for women which they could adorn for various events and occasions in varied length cuts. Try and have a look at such dresses on the website and even through its mobile app, SBL which gives a much easier access.

Hi, everyone! As I promised you in my last post, I am back again with another Spring/Summer collection by another talented designer from the city, Jyoti Sachdev Iyer. Now, you must be familiar with the name if you are a fashion lover and love to delve into latest trends and styles. Jyoti Sachdev Iyer is widely known for her sense of simplicity that she impeccably delineates in her designs. I was invited by her team to visit her studio at Bullygunge, Kolkata to get a preview of her Spring/Summer 2016 Collection.

Her studio is something that every designer dreams of. A tastefully decorated, mysteriously lit up place with the display of her designs. As soon as we entered her studio we were lead to the section where her latest collection was displayed. We were told about each and every piece, the materials used, the works and how they can be paired to make a perfect summer outfit.

Jyoti Sachdev Iyer’s Spring/Summer collection is called EMERGENCE and it is all about soft colours, breathable materials, light prints and embroideries. The pieces we saw were mostly shades of whites, peaches, soft pinks etc. I think those are perfect for summer in Bengal. These clothes are a perfect relief from the hot and humid weather. I personally liked her designs as they spoke simplicity as well as style. You must check her collection out. I am sure you would like them a lot. Here are a few shots that I took at her studio-

If you are a Lakme Fashion Week fan and religiously watch it happen every year whether from the ramp or from your computer, you must be familiar with this name- Garo. Garo is a brainchild of designers Priyangsu Maji and Sweta Tantia from Kolkata who showcased their exclusive and unique femmes-de-Tahiti collection at the Lakme Fashion Week, 2016 for the first time. The first time organizing their own show and turning it into a big hit, that is their success story. If you do not remember their show, then allow me to remind you by showing you the picture where this designer-duo posed with their show-stopper for the show Divya Khosla Kumar. She looked ravishing in the Garo dress-

Recently, I got a chance to visit their studio, see their Spring/Summer collection, and have a one-on-one conversation with them. I went to their store on 15th of this month. I have shared a picture with them on my Instagram if you remember. So, I went there with a fellow blogger and friend, Kinkinee from Gupshup Avenue. Reaching there, we were welcomed warmly by the designers themselves. After talking for a while, we went straight to the collection. Their collection is mostly about ethnic wear. They specialize in asymmetrical hemline, multiple layers, drapes, different prints and patterns etc. Let me show you their Spring/Summer Collection for the year 2016. I’ll share some of the conversations we had at the end of this post.

Garo Spring/Summer Collection, 2016

Now, coming back to our conversation with Priyangsu and Sweta, it was a really friendly chat. So we asked them a few questions like how do they get inspired, what is the story behind Garo, when they are coming with a proper store, what is their next project and so on. I am writing down what they answered. They showed us a book by the famous artist Paul Gauguin and told us that their Femmes-de-Tahiti collection that was showcased at the LFW 2016 was inspired by Paul Gauguin’s paintings of a Tahitian village and its dwellers. I found this really interesting. On asking about the story behind the name, Garo, they told us that this is because Garo is an Assamese tribe and their designs are also inspired by tribal arts. People living in or around Kolkata would love to know that they are coming up with a well-stocked store in Kolkata. I am really looking forward to their new store. Believe me, their collection is irresistible.

I hope you liked this post. Don’t forget to share your thoughts with me in the comments. Please keep an eye on this blog tomorrow because I will share another Spring/Summer Collection by another talented designer tomorrow. Till then be safe & keep smiling!

Summer is here and we all are polishing up our summer fashion to beat the heat and look fashionable at the same time. I am no exception. When it comes to choosing clothes for summer, I become very picky. Not all colours, cuts, and fits fascinate me. I like light-weight, breathable materials, soft, pastel colours and of course unique designs. Jabong has stocked up some extremely exciting items in their summer-store that cannot get unnoticed. I chose a printed blue dress from Lara Karen’s Spring Summer 2016 collection available exclusively on Jabong.

Today, I thought of sharing an outfit idea with you that you can wear on a regular basis- for brunches, shopping dates, movies, college and even for work. I tried to keep it simple and fashionable at the same time. Let’s jump into the pictures-

The Summer Story- OOTD Ft. Lara Karen's SS16 Collection at Jabong| cherryontopblog.com

The dress by Lara Karen is made out of a very light-weight cotton fabric (however, I don’t think it’s pure cotton) which is really comfortable. It has the perfect length, just like how I like a daily-wear dress to be. The hemline is perfect for me, it makes the dress breezy and flowy. It has a mandarin collar which might be a little uncomfortable for summers but I like it because it gives a really formal, chic look. This dress has front buttons which I really like as I feel it is easier for me. Also, it has a small chain on the side. There is a cinch at the waistline to enhance the body shape which is great. This dress has short sleeves that go well with the entire look.

The Summer Story- OOTD Ft. Lara Karen's SS16 Collection at Jabong| cherryontopblog.com

The bag I have paired up with this outfit is by a brand called Kiara and it is available on Limeroad. This bag is huge so you can carry your world with you. It is a perfect structured satchel which is great for work or college. The pastel baby pink colour makes it really chic and does not limit the usage. You can even carry it to the movies. Although you can use it formally but it does not look completely formal. I hope I made some sense. This bag has two adjustable straps making it easier for you to carry. The only thing bothers me about this bag is its weight. This bag is a bit on the heavier side.

The white sandals I wore are from Styletag. I got these last winter when they were on sale. These sandals are the comfiest thing ever! They fit perfectly, did not hurt and I did not get any blister which is usual for me whenever I wear a new pair of shoes. I thought white shoes would complement the outfit well and make it more summery as well.

The Summer Story- OOTD Ft. Lara Karen's SS16 Collection at Jabong | cherryontopblog.com

I did not accessorize the outfit much only because I do not like over accessorizing my outfits in summer. I wore a watch which I bought from a thrift store. Not a branded one but it definitely goes well with my outfit. What do you think? The pair of round sunglasses I wore is from Lenskart.

As destination weddings or beach weddings have become a trend now, it’s a thumb rule to wear something chic and cool at the same time. Linen and lightweight cotton are the best options for such ceremonies. For some midday beach weddings or occasions, it may even be appropriate for men to wear shorts and a jacket.
