Brillare Power Repair Duo | Review & Price

I am really choosy when it comes to my hair care products. The sole reason behind this is that my hair troubles me a lot. It’s dry, damaged, frizzy and lifeless. That is why I usually do not experiment much with my hair products. Recently I got to try the Brillare Power Repair Duo which is a combination of shampoo and treatment for damaged and treated hair. I have been using them for quite some time now and I think this is the best thing that could happen to my hair. Read to know why.

Brillare Power Repair Shampoo-

Brillare Power Repair Shampoo comes in a no-fuss clear plastic bottle with a metallic screw cap. I loved the packaging because I love minimal packaging in skincare and haircare products plus, it allows me to check on the quantity of the product left.

The shampoo is very light, something I’ve never tried before. It isn’t much concentrated so it doesn’t lather up much. But, it’s enough to clean your hair. The shampoo has a mild floral scent which is very soothing. After washing my hair with the shampoo, my hair felt really soft, clean and healthy.

This shampoo is meant for those who have damaged their hair from styling and colouring. It is enriched in bond repairing natural extract (chestnut) & cuticle resurfacing extract (black oat). It is also free from Sulphates, Colour, Paraben, Formaldehyde, Mineral Oil, Petroleum Wax and Animal Cruelty.

The packaging of the Intenso Fluid Creme is same as the Power Repair shampoo.

The texture of the Brillare Power Repair Intenso Fluid Creme is lotion-like, very light yet very hydrating. It gives my hair the exact amount of hydration and smoothness that it requires. It makes the hair very smooth, nourished and also gives it somewhat straightened look which you usually get from hair spas.

This product is also Colour, Paraben, Formaldehyde, Mineral Oil, Petroleum Wax, Animal Cruelty-Free.

I have been using this duo for quite some time now and I can vouch for them. I have seen a visible change in my hair quality. It looks much smoother and healthier after every wash. I would recommend this to all those who are suffering from damaged, treated hair.

My Review of the Speaking Tree Essential Oils:

I have been using these two essential oils for over a week now and I think I should share my views with you. There are various ways of using these essential oils but there are two particular ways in which I am using them for me. I take 2 drops of the Lemon Essential Oil on to my palm and press it gently against my skin right after washing and toning the skin. I am doing this step twice a day and I can notice a change in the appearance of my skin. The dullness of my skin is now gone and it appears brighter than before. This oil is a dry oil so it does not make my skin greasy.

I do not like peppermint smell but when I get migraines, the same smell seems very calming and refreshing to me. If you get frequent migraine attacks like me then first see a doctor and start medication and while it starts paining use this peppermint essential oil instead of popping a pill. What I like to do is, I take some oil in the roller applicator and rub it gently on my temples. It gives a great relief from the pain and from the stress too.

You can also burn these oils in a diffuser and it will act as a stress buster. You will calm your nerves and destress you instantly. Or, just add a few drops in a bucket of water or in your bath to relax after a long, hectic day.

Using Oval Brushes for the First Time | Ft. WiseShe Oval Brushes

The use of makeup brushes has been increased a lot in the past few years. We have been witnessing the arrival of the different type of makeup applicators. From regular brushes to beauty blenders, wedges, silicon sponges and now the oval brushes. With the birth of different makeup techniques, different types of applicator have also been noticed. Today, in this post, I will be reviewing the two WiseShe Oval Brushes that I received recently.

What are Oval Brushes?

Oval brushes are a type of makeup applicators that have been designed to do your own makeup, unlike the regular makeup brushes that are meant for doing makeup on others. These brushes look quite similar to toothbrushes, and they have denser bristles. The design of the brushes ensures a precise and comfortable application.

A Little Bit about WiseShe

WiseShe Oval Brush collection is a venture by Anamika Sureka, a veteran beauty blogger in India. She has a very popular beauty blog named WiseShe where she writes amazing articles and reviews on beauty and makeup products.

WiseShe Oval Brushes Packaging:

The brushes I got are directly from the owner as a PR kit. Anamika wanted to have a first-hand experience from blogger so she sent me and some other bloggers PR kits containing the brushes. Now, that PR kit is definitely not the final packaging that is going to hit the market. The PR package is a decorative gift box inside which the brushes came.

The brushes are like regular oval brushes with plastic handles. There were no name or number written on the brushes so you cannot tell which brushes are for what unless you are experienced enough. I believe they will be adding that up when they are ready to hit the market.

Price:

The price of the brushes is yet not disclosed.

My Experience with WiseShe Oval Brushes:

I received two brushes in my box. One of them is a foundation/powder basically a base makeup brush and the other one is a precise thin brush that could be used to smudge your kohl or apply eyeshadow on the lower lashline.

Both of the brushes have very soft bristles. The foundation brush applies cream and liquid foundations/BB/CC creams really evenly and flawlessly. It can be used to powder your face too. I used the smaller, thin brush to smudge kohl on the lash line and to fill in my eyebrows and it does both the jobs very well.

The best thing about these brushes is that they have not shed for a single time not even while getting washed. Great job, Anamika!

Overall, I really enjoyed using oval brushes for the first time. I think it makes it easier to apply makeup on your face, especially foundation. The unique design allows you to comfortably apply makeup and it takes less time than usual to blend everything. I can see myself using WiseShe oval brushes more often.

9 Things You Need to Check before a Winter Road Trip

Winters aren’t the easiest of times. It means you have to be more careful about everything you do for yourself. In India, the weather in winter is the most pleasant of all. It is the only 3 months in the calendar without heat, humidity, or sweat. So, we Indians tend to take advantage of this season as much as possible. Winter is the time when we plan more outings, picnics, and road trips. Here, I am sharing some tips that you must consider to make your vehicle winter road trip-ready.

Take Your Car for a Service: As you need to shop before your trip, your car also needs some upgrades to get ready for the trip. Ask your mechanic to check your car’s engine, radiator, and battery well. In winter, having a fast start is quite hard. Make sure the tyres are in perfect condition. It’s really important to get them checked before they hit the road. For that, you can your ride to bmw service centre for further checking.
Have an Emergency Kit Ready: No matter if you are driving alone or with your family, keeping an emergency kit with you is always a wise idea. Your kit should contain booster cables, an air compressor, extra windscreen washer fluid, flashlights, and a first aid kit.
Headlights: Your headlights need some extra attention, as during the winter you get less time for daylight. Check beforehand if your headlights are properly aimed and all the lights work well.
Oil Tank: Never fill your tank more than halfway. It’s ok to stop a few more times for fuel than to start with a full-tank.
Winter-ready Tyres: Make sure all four of your tyres are winter tyres. The so-called all-season tyres might not work well for a long, long trip. It’s okay to spend some more money than regret later.
Battery: Charge your battery well before starting your trip.
Take your car for an Emission test: Before setting off on a long trip, make sure your vehicle is functioning properly.
Pack Everything well: Before heading out, make sure you have kept all your documents (license, insurance, PUC, etc.). Also, make sure you have your chargers, enough USB cables, food and water, warm clothes, etc.
Final Check: Your final check will be to check if your GPS is working properly. you have taken a look at the weather report, and then you are finally good to start your long-planned trip.

My Views on Ashtapathy Herbals Bathing Bars

My first impression on these soaps is that they smell so good! They smell like raw natural/herbal product that they actually are. All the soaps are gentle on the skin and they do not dry out the skin. I would like to talk especially about the Olive Soap that was so smooth and it made my skin soft, supple and visibly healthy. I applied the Mud soap on the body as well as on my face and the result was amazing. The Multani mitti in the soap actually worked well on my oily t-zone and my face felt less oily for quite sometime after the wash. It did not strip off the skin making it dehydrated. The Deva Thali soap was an okayish soap, great for everyday essential use. It cleanses the skin very well giving it proper hydration. These soaps are not fast melting, they last for more than 15 days if properly used.

My Views on Ashtapathy Herbals Hair Cleansers-

To be honest, I enjoyed using the Deva Thali shampoo more than the Mud shampoo. Although I have very oily scalp and the Mud shampoo did work on that but it also did tend to dry out my already dry hair. I have a combination hair type- my scalp is oily and hair is dry. So, if you have my type of hair, I would suggest you go for the Deva Thali shampoo instead of the Mud shampoo. The Deva Thali shampoo worked quite well on my hair. It cleansed the scalp, made the hair soft and shiny. Both of the shampoos did not cause hair fall during the shower. It felt really great to use pure and natural products on my hair after continuously treating it with chemicals.

Hi, guys! Today, I am going to review the new Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons for you. It’s been quite some time since Lakme has launched these affordable lip crayons in the market. I am probably the last one to review these. You must have already read tonnes of reviews on these, so, I am going to keep it short and simple.

Lakme has launched 10 different shades of this really cute lip crayons among which I was sent 5 shades to try out and review. These are priced at Rs 185 which is really affordable. You also get a sharpener with each lip crayon for free. Isn’t it a great deal?

How to Apply-

Step 1: Open the cap and start applying the product from the centre of your upper lip.

Step 2: Worked from the centre towards the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth.

Step 3: Glide the product across the entire bottom lip.

Step 4: This step is optional but you could use a tissue to blot out the extra product.

Shades-

The Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons range has a collection of 10 different shades. There are pinks, peaches, mauve, coral, red and nude. I am totally impressed by their vast shade range despite being so inexpensive. The shades I got are the following-

01 Berry Red

This one is the perfect red lipstick as it has some blue undertones to it. You’ll love it if you are looking for a budget true red matte lipstick. This one applies evenly and is very pigmented. A steal, I would say! It would look good on every Indian skin tone.

02 Red Stop

Another shade that would suit all Indian skin tones, Red Stop is a perfect orange-toned coral red lipstick.

03 Candid Coral

Candid Coral is a bright coral shade. This is such a pretty shade, perfect for summers. You must check this one out if you are looking for a budget-friendly coral lipstick.

07 Shocking Pink

This is a pretty fuschia pink in my opinion. It isn’t shocking as the name suggests. This colour has a slight hint of red in it. This is my favourite shade in this collection. This shade would suit almost all skin tones.

09 Cinnamon Brown

Cinnamon Brown is an everyday neutral/nude brown shade. It would be great for ‘no-makeup makeup‘ looks. For me, it is an MLBB shade. This would suit fair to medium skin tones. It would wash out dusky skin tones.

Texture-

The Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons are said to be matte, but the finish is actually semi-matte. It is a creamy formula that sets into a semi-matte finish. The product is quite sturdy, it doesn’t break while applying.

Staying Power-

These lip crayons stay on my lips for a good 4-5 hours without eating or drinking, which is good for a Rs 185 lipstick. The lip colours fade away from the centre of my lips as I eat or drink.

My Experience with Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons-

Overall, I am quite happy with the lipsticks. First of all, they are super comfortable on the lips. The application isn’t very smooth. Make sure to moisturize your lips well before the application or it can tug and pull your lips while applying. The lip crayons don’t feel dry on the lips nor do they dry out your lips. They are not completely transfer-proof, the deeper tones have more tendency to transfer than the lighter ones.

Finally, we have a range that is conceptualised keeping college-going girls in mind. The price tag is so affordable that anybody can have their own Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons. I would highly recommend you guys to try at least one from the range. It is worth it.

Impressive Benefits of Coconut Oil

Every day, our skin suffers under the influence of many different factors. Age, sun’s rays, smoking, insufficient hydration, lack of sleep, pollution, stress and our diet all play a part in how our skin ages, and how visible the changes are. To minimise these harmful effects, we must take proper care of our skin. A healthy and diverse diet based on fresh, quality ingredients, drinking plenty of fluids, wearing sunscreen and sleeping enough can do wonders for the skin. Another essential factor is our beauty regimen. Using natural, quality products regularly can make a world of difference. However, we don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune on skin care products. What is Coconut Oil?

Coconut oil is the oil that we get by extracting fat from coconut meat. Depending on the temperature, the oil can be solid and white, or liquid and clear. How to use Coconut Oil at home?

A jar or a tub of coconut oil is not much of an investment, especially when compared to expensive cosmetic formulas, and it can be used in many different ways – all quite simple to do at home. One of the most effective ways to give your face that natural glow that everyone is talking about, is to make a homemade mask. Depending on your skin type, you can try mixing coconut oil with various other ingredients to create the perfect mask for you. Luckily, all of these ingredients are very simple, and you probably have them in your kitchen at all times. For instance, if you feel like your skin is dull, lifeless and dry, mix coconut oil with a bit of honey and some lemon juice. Leaving this mixture on your face for just 10 minutes will instantly brighten your skin, tightening the pores, hydrating and softening it. Acne prone skin will benefit from a mask made by mixing a tablespoon of coconut oil with half a mashed banana and some turmeric. Coconut and turmeric are both stars when it comes to fighting bacteria, so the two of them together have some serious acne-fighting power. The banana will provide some much-needed moisture for your skin. And if you need to exfoliate, mix your oil with a mashed avocado and some nutmeg. The rough upper layer will be removed together with all of the impurities, while avocado will provide the skin with nutrients. Pure coconut oil can be used as a hair mask. Just slather it on generously and leave for as long as you can – preferably overnight. Afterwards, wash your hair as normal, and admire its newfound shine.

Coconut oil is cheap, especially when you buy it in bulk, easy to find in every supermarket or health food store, it’s simple to use, and has a plethora of uses, whether you choose to eat it or apply it externally. It is a true gift of nature that will transform the way you look and feel, by nourishing you inside and out.

My Experience with Vichy Normaderm Night Detox Anti-Imperfection Clarifying Care

It’s been almost 15 days since I have started using the Vichy Normaderm Night Detox and it took me a couple of days to see the results. You already know how oily my skin is especially around the t-zone. During the winter, my skin was dry but as the weather has started to change, my skin has started to become oily too. That is the moment when I started using this night treatment and it completely changed my night time skincare routine. But before telling you how it changed the game, let me tell you why is this cream important to you. Vichy says-

“At night, oily skin accumulates toxins and produces an excess of sebum which leads to the development of imperfections and bad skin quality. Normal skin produces less toxins and sebum and wakes up to clean skin. Upon awakening, oily skin shows a dull complexion and dirty look.”

This cream is meant to target the excess sebum that your skin produces overnight and it also supposedly detoxifies it. It also clears out your pores and makes them less visible. I don’t have acne issues but the occasional ones that I get haven’t made any appearance during these 15 days. I am blessed with a clear skin so I cannot really tell you if it really works on blemishes and imperfections or not but I can definitely tell you that it controls sebum. Yes, it does. I used to wake up with an extremely oily t-zone which has completely gone when I have this overnight cream on. My face looks fresher and brighter. Also, after I wash my face with a facial cleanser, my skin doesn’t feel dehydrated. The Vichy Normaderm Night Detox gives you a long-lasting moisturization. It also blurs the pores to some extent. It gives a bit cooling sensation which I think I am going to love during the summers.

I am in love with this product. This product is a must-have for those who have oily, acne-prone skin. This cream is also non-comedogenic which means that it does not clog your pores and it is also non-allergenic and suitable for sensitive skin. This cream is an amalgamation of two important technologies- Detox Technology and Purifying Technology. The combination of Eperuline, LHA and Salicylic Acid. Eperuline works as an anti-aging agent. Then there is a concoction of Perlite and absorbing powders which work in purifying your skin. I love this product and I can swear by it. I am looking forward to seeing how well it work during the hot and humid summer.
