I’ve been flooded with messages and queries regarding my recent ColourPop order when I shared a haul on my Instagram. Although I have replied to some of the comments about the customs, I had to explain more in one post. The service that helped me get my ColourPop order shipped to India is a website called My Mall Box. In this post, I will share my experience with My Mall Box.

Check out their website here>>

What is My Mall Box?

My Mall Box is a package/parcel/mail forwarding service. They provide their customers with a US address (a suite in our warehouse), which allows them to shop at online retailers who require a United States shipping address.

How Does My Mall Box work?

How to Get US Products Shipped to India | My Mall Box Review | Cherry On Top

Once you sign up with My Mall Box, they will give you your own Amercian address along with a unique suit number. There are two options to choose from. One that allows you to self-shop the products directly from the merchant website using your My Mall Box address. Another option is to go for ‘Buy for Me’ option. In this option, you fill in a form writing what you want to get, product name, category, URL of the product and My Mall Box buys it for you. It’s super easy to use My Mall Box as it’s absolutely hassle-free.

After your products are shipped and received at the warehouse you are notified at once. You can see your order waiting for you in the dashboard of your account. Now, you have to Consolidate or Repack your package depending on your order. The next point is about Consolidation.

What is Consolidation?

If you have bought several items from different websites, you will need to consolidate your packages in order to reduce shipping cost. Consolidating your packages means they will combine all the products into one package. The benefit of consolidation is there will be no risk of any of the packages getting lost in transit. Secondly, it will reduce shipping cost and lastly, it’s free!

Prohibited Items

If you are a regular online shopper then you must know some items are prohibited for shipping depending on a list of prohibited imported items of a particular country. You must know it before ordering anything.

Shipping Rate

My Mall Box determines shipping charges based on the package dimension and weight. They have an online calculator through which you can calculate how much you need to pay for a certain package. For my order, I paid $31.65 for shipping via DHL.

Other Charges

One thing I loved about My Mall Box is that they do not have any hidden charges.

  • The shipping charges are based on what and how many products you order.
  • You get a free storage for 90 days which is awesome and after the period of 90 days, you will be charged $1 per day. Speaking of the storage period, I would like to mention that after 120 days of your order reaching My Mall Box warehouse, the contents are liquidated. The storage limit applies to consolidated packages as well. The 90-day and 120-day cycles do not reset after repackaging your products.
  • For all return package, they charge $10.
  • $4.50 handling fee and a 3% transaction fee per Buy for Me order.
  • $2.00 per package for Splitting your packages.
  • $1.00 per photo for photo requests.

Things to Keep in Mind

In spite of everything, there are certain things that you need to keep in mind, like-

  • Some websites like Sephora do not ship to package forwarding companies. I don’t know if the ‘Buy for Me’ options works in this case. I had read many reviews and many people have mentioned about this issue with Sephora. I even know of an incident where someone’s order had been cancelled. So, keep it in mind.
  • Some websites like Amazon.com only accept US phone numbers. My Mall Box provides a US number in this case.
  • Consolidating your order means you will not get the original box the products came in. So, if you are wishing to possess the famous Kylie Cosmetics box or the Quirky Colourpop box, consolidation is not for you.

Did I Pay Customs?

Yes, I did. I had to pay Rs 805/- for an order value of $24.99. Total amount that for the entire order was-

ColourPop Order-        $24.99- Rs 1616
My Mall Box Service-  $31.65- Rs 2045
Customs Charges-                     Rs   805
———————————————-
Total-                                           Rs 4,466

Why My Mall Box?

  • My Mall Box generates addresses in Delaware which is a tax-free state. So, you have to pay 0% sales tax for your orders.
  • Their Concierge fee is $3 which is very nominal compared to other such websites.
  • My Mall Box has low shipping charges compared to other equivalent companies. I had to pay $31.65 for my order.
  • Their service is extremely swift and they notify you at every step.
  • I had consolidated my package and they repacked it very well that my highlighter came intact. I though it’ll be damaged in transit but luckily it didn’t.
  • DHL and USPS are their shipping partners. These companies are completely reliable.
  • They give you a $5 sign-up credit.

Overall, I am really satisfied with My Mall Box’s service. The entire staff including the customer care is very friendly and helpful.

The Off-Shouldered Trend is Present Everywhere! When it’s burning hot outside, the ultimate thing you wish to be feeling is safe by your outfits. So just stay cool, we have come with the latest trend that we have been seeing ladies diving in the summer in the flowing and sexy off-shouldered tops and dresses. The off-shouldered tops and dresses permit you to showcase a very small portion of your skin without looking very much overboard. We would say they are the ideal combo of sexy and sweet.

There is one thing which we are presently seeing much more in this season – the last shoulders. The trend of off-shouldered dresses has really captured the imagination of each top retailer because they look for motivation from the track.

Top tips on wearing the off-shouldered tops:

  • Summer holidays:

The maxi dresses without or with straps simply hanging off the shoulders are just ideal.

  • Balance:

The off-shouldered tops are amazing for the women with hourglass or pear shaped bodies because it simply balances out the proportions.

  • Strapless bra:

Albeit it possibly sounds odd, you should better off wear a strapless bra instead of no bra. The issue with the silicon transparent straps is that they are basically seen. Thus, you should better opt for a good strapless bra and simply forget thinking about all kind of messes. Opt for a beige one as you can wear it easily under black or white tops also.

Hair and accessories tips for the off-shouldered tops:

  • Big-chest tip:

Simply avoid wearing the long necklace on top of your blouse if you have a big chest. The reason is that your boobs will look very weird. Nevertheless, you always can go with the off-shouldered tops with the straps, particularly when wearing a bra below.

  • Hair:

You can simply go with a complete hippie appearance by wearing down messy hair with the tousled beach waves. At the time of sunny days, you may like to expose your tan shoulders and prefer a shabby ponytail as well.

  • Accessories:

Two options are there for you. You can layer numerous thin necklaces with various sizes or you can also layer a big yet shorter necklace.

The off-shouldered tops to wear in the office:

  • In case you wish to adapt this latest trend to the slightly more corporate type of clothing, try out this kind of top with a pencil skirt or elegant trousers. Always remember to wear the high heel shoes and also get a touch of professional makeup.
  • The structured off-shouldered tops or silky dresses can really go nicely for lunch in your city.

The outfits to be matched with the off-shouldered tops:

  • Keep it simple with a hot off-shouldered black outfit and couple it with sneakers for a model-off-duty appearance. You can add your favourite sunglass and you’re ready!
  • Choose a cold-shoulder peasant top along with a shook denim skirt for that a little boho approach. Maintaining the proper balance between chic and casual, this is the single way of wearing the off-shouldered trend.
  • Try an ordinary floral off-shouldered dress with a statement jewellery for a casual yet polished appearance.

Hello, everyone! Hope you are doing great. Today’s post will be about skincare and I will be reviewing a  product that I have been loving lately. In this post, I will be discussing why I love it and want you to try yourselves. Today’s product in the spotlight is the O3+ Eye Circle Cream. Before I went to the VLCC event I saw a lot of you have queries regarding under eye darkness, dullness, bags and fine lines. Since my VLCC experience post contained only cosmetological treatments, I thought I should share something that is within budget and available everywhere.

O3+ Eye Circle Cream Review | Cherry On Top

Before proceeding with my review, you guys should know the reason behind dark circles. So, you will get to know whether this product will work for you or not.

Reasons for Under-eye Dark Circles

There are various factors that cause dark circles-

  • Dark circles can be genetic,
  • it can occur due to lack of sleep and
  • sometimes the unclear bowel leads to dark under-eyes.

There are some other factors as well that we should take into consideration. Those are-

  • thinning of the under-eye skin,
  • deep-set eye type.
  • sometimes, there are medical issues also that cause dark under-eye.

Now, that you know the reasons, you can definitely determine your reason. If it’s genetic then it’s almost non-curable. If it’s a medical issue then you need to see a dermatologist before buying any cosmetic product. If the problem is your deep-set eyes then again it cannot be cured. For other reasons, O3+ Eye Circle Cream can become your rescuer.

O3+ Eye Circle Cream Review | Cherry On Top

O3+ Eye Circle Cream Review | Cherry On Top

Packaging- O3+ Eye Circle Cream comes in a white plain carton and the product is housed in a plastic tube with a tapered nozzle-type mouth. All you need to do is to squeeze the tube to let out the amount to need. The narrow outlet makes sure you don’t squeeze out too much product. The packaging, in my opinion, is sturdy, easy to carry in your purse and travel-friendly. The sleek and slender white packaging is definitely very impressive.

O3+ Eye Circle Cream Review | Cherry On Top

Texture- The texture of the O3+ Eye Circle Cream is very light-weight gel-like texture. The consistency is perfect, neither too runny nor too thick. Post application, it gives a shiny look. This cream is not sticky, so it does not cling on to your skin or feel heavy. This cream gets absorbed into your skin very quickly.

My Experience with the O3+ Eye Circle Cream

O3+ Eye Circle Cream Review | Cherry On Top

I have been using the O3+ Eye Circle Cream for almost a month and I am ready to share my own experience with you all. But before proceeding, let me tell you that I don’t have heavy dark circles. The slight darkness that I have is mainly due to lack of sleep and strain on the eyes. I spend more than 12 hours a day on the computer and that has taken a toll on me even though I use AMC glasses to protect my eyes. So, if you want to diminish your dark circles then rest your body properly and sleep for at least 8 hours in a day. Otherwise, nothing is going to work on you. I am slowly working on improving my sleeping habit. But you know, a full-time blogger’s limitations!

Anyway, coming back to my experience, this cream is no miracle product. It does not diminish your dark circles like magic. I am using it, as I said earlier, for the past month and I can see a slight difference under my eyes. It definitely did not remove the dark circles but lessened the appearance of it. Although it hasn’t done anything special for the dark circles using it twice every day has definitely improved the texture of the skin under my eyes.

The best that O3+ Eye Circle Cream does is that it hydrates the under-eye area pretty well. It deeply nourishes the skin without making it look oily. The hydration is long-lasting, which is a great thing. It doesn’t brighten up the skin or diminish the fine lines but definitely smoothes out the skin surface. Taking that into consideration, O3+ Eye Circle Cream can be called the best drugstore eye cream for hydration or the best hydrating eye cream within budget.

Overall, I am quite enjoying using this eye cream these days. I would suggest you buy this if your major concern is hydration under the eyes.

Hello, guys! Hope you are doing great. First and foremost, I want to thank all of all for your response on my 7 Things About Basic Skin Care I Learnt Late post. You seemed to have like it so much. I promise to write such in-depth and useful posts more often. Looking at the success of my previous post, I thought of writing another one which will be useful to you. So today, I am going to talk about my the top 5 nude lipsticks I love using. Hope this will help you choose something for yourself too. All the nude shades that I’ll be talking about are perfect for most of the Indian skin tones.

Nude lips are currently in vogue. It took me a while to give in to the temptation simply because Indian lipstick brands do not have a satisfactory range of nude lipsticks. Nude lipsticks are perfect for everyday use, for office or college. They are also great to pair up with a bold statement eye makeup. Depending on your skin tone, you can choose the perfect nude lipstick for you from the tonnes of shades available in the market. Very soon, I’ll write a post on how to chose the perfect nude for your skin tone.

In today’s post, I’ve shared 5 of my current favourite nude lipsticks. One of them is a creamy lipstick and the rest four are liquid matte lipsticks. This post will be a combination of swatches and mini reviews. So, let’s start-

My 5 Favourite Neutral/Nude Lipsticks for Indian Skin | Cherry On Top
(L-R) 1. Maybelline Colorshow Lipstick Caramel Custard, 2. Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Cher, 3. Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Icon, 4. ColourPop Ultra Satin Calypso, 5. Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer-proof 402

>>Anti-static hair brush Forbabs

Maybelline Colorshow Lipstick- 309 Caramel Custard

When Maybelline launched their Colorshow lipstick range, I fell for it. It has a range of beautiful shades from pinks to reds to oranges and neutrals. At that time, I had slowly started to incline towards neutral shades, leaving my comfort zone (read reds and pinks) behind. So, I ended up picking this Caramel Custard shade from the collection.

Price- Rs- 299

Shade- As the name suggests, Caramel Custard is a caramel brown/cinnamon shade, perfect for everyday wear. I have worn this to my university every single day!

Pros-

  • Creamy and smooth texture.
  • Effortlessly glides on the lips.
  • Feels light on the lips.
  • Sleek, travel-friendly packaging.
  • Doesn’t bleed at all.

Cons-

  • Transfers and that’s so obvious because of the texture.
  • Doesn’t last long. 3 hours max on my lips.
  • Tends to melt in summers.

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra-Matte Liquid Lipstick- Cher

I’ve been loving it ever since I bought it! The colour, the texture I love everything about this liquid lipstick.

Price- $20

Shade- The shade is a mauvy nude shade which compliments most fair to medium Indian skin tones.

Pros-

  • Creamy formula that sets matte.
  • Despite being creamy, the formula is also thin. So, it feels light on the lips.
  • Not at all drying. (If you haven’t used ColourPop Ultra Mattes, you don’t know what ‘drying’ means!)
  • Smooth application. No patchiness.
  • Doesn’t transfer at all!

Cons-

  • A bit expensive for the quantity.
  • Not available in India.*
My 5 Favourite Neutral/Nude Lipsticks for Indian Skin | Cherry On Top
1. Maybelline Colorshow Lipstick Caramel Custard, 2. Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Cher, 3. Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Icon, 4. ColourPop Ultra Satin Calypso, 5. Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer-proof 402

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick- Icon

I am so in love with this beauty. This product is so nice that I thank the Lord for making me able to buy this liquid lipstick. This is the best liquid lipstick formula I’ve ever tried. The texture is not runny nor thick/creamy, just in between.

Price- $20

Shade- Kind of a burnt orange/rusty shade, very neutral and very wearable.

Pros-

  • Thin in texture yet very pigmented
  • Applies completely opaque.
  • Dries completely matte, but stays a bit tacky. It’s not a powdery matte formula. Thus, feels comfortable.
  • Lightweight. Doesn’t feel like I have something on my lips.
  • Doesn’t smudge, smear or transfer.
  • Lasts for 9-10 hours on my lips.

Cons-

  • Not available in India.* (There’s a buzz around that Huda Beauty might launch on Nykaa soon!!)

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lips- Calypso

I’ve been started loving ColourPop liquid lipsticks a lot. Someone was selling these unused ColourPop liquid lipsticks, so I thought to give them a shot as a trial before I buy some new ones from their website. Among the three, one is an Ultra Satin one and this is the one I love the most.

Price- $6

ShadeCalypso is a warm-toned nude shade with a hint of pink.

Pros-

  • Perfect nude for warm Indian skin tones.
  • Dries to a satin matte finish.
  • Feels comfortable on the lips.
  • Creamy yet lightweight formula.
  • Gives an opaque finish in the first application.
  • Very pigmented.
  • Great value for the price.

Cons-

  • Requires a touch-up post meal or drink.
  • Not available in India.*

Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer-proof Liquid Lipstick- 402

This is another of my recent purchases. I love this for its colour payoff and longevity. This is one of the best nude lipsticks in India.

Price- Rs 845

Shade- The shade is a mauvy nude shade almost identical to Cher by Gerard Cosmetics. The only difference is Cher is a bit darker as it has more brown tones that Chambor 402. The latter is a bit light and has more pink undertones.

Pros-

  • Smooth application.
  • Doesn’t feel heavy.
  • Not drying. Feels comfortable on the lips.
  • Doesn’t transfer.
  • Waterproof formula.
  • Long lasting.

Cons-

  • Does budge from the centre after a few hours of wearing, or if you have food.
  • Can accentuate fine lines.

So, these were my 5 favourite nude/neutral lipsticks as of now. What’s yours?

Hi, guys! Today, I am back with another post. Remember, I was really excited to show you the outfits I shot with? Well, you have seen one of the outfits in my previous summer fashion post. For today’s outfit, I chose to flaunt my boho chic side. The outfit I chose is apt for summers. The fabric is breathable, it’s lightweight and it’s indigo!

Embroidery is on trend right now. From sarees to jeans, embroidery works are everywhere. The two trends that are ruling the market currently are, a. Embroidery and b. Patches/Pins. I love both of them! For this post, I have collaborated with Loom Tree. They asked me to go through their collection and choose one for myself. As soon as I landed at their website, I instantly fall for their collection. You’ll know what I mean once you visit their website.

Tales of Bohemia ft. Loom Tree | Cherry On Top

About Loom Tree

Loom Tree is an Indian clothing brand that makes boho/fusion ethnic wear that is loved by people who want to value artisanal fashion through their lifestyle. The materials that Loom Tree uses to make their clothes are of high quality. They use organic cotton, handloom wool, Ashima silk (Peace silk) and upcycled fabrics. They specialise in contemporary, bohemian-luxe womenswear.

“Loom Tree’s main objective is to offer exclusive fashion whilst improving the lives and communities of the artisans, craftsmen, weavers and farmers in developing countries who hold the traditional skills needed to make beautiful, authentic and timeless things.”

“Grounded in traditional Indian textiles, we celebrate in global artisan craft. We believe the contemporary fashion industry has lost its connection to the producers at the bottom of the supply chain so unlike other fashion brands, we don’t hide our suppliers away. We acknowledge them so that each and every product we sell has an instant story to share with the world.”

So, as we are done knowing Loom Tree, we should move forward to the outfit.

Tales of Bohemia ft. Loom Tree | Cherry On Top

Firstly, let me tell you about the piece I got from Loom Tree. I got this very pretty indigo top/shrug/jacket that has beautiful embroidered patchworks on the cuffs, shoulders and chest. The cuffs of the sleeve have also got some boho style metallic coin detailing which I love! This top (as mentioned in the product description) is made of 100% cotton. I love this top because of two reasons. First, the coin detailing and second, the loose-fit and breeziness.

Keeping the boho element in mind, I thought of coming up with a fusion look. So, I wore this top over my plain white tee as a shrug and paired it up with faded blue jeans and ethnic, golden sandals.I didn’t accessorise much as the top itself is a statement piece. I just styled it with a pair of these blue round sunnies from Lenskart. Overall, the outfit reflected a casual, retro, boho style. I am really happy with the outcome.

Hi, guys! If you follow me on my social media then you must know that I attended a #VLCCStyleStatements session a few days ago. VLCC  is India’s leading wellness brand that is the one-stop destination for all your skin and hair concerns. They have various beauty services and personal care services. Also known for their weight loss services, VLCC has several therapies and treatments for beauty and wellness using natural sciences. In this post, I am going to talk about the VLCC skin treatments.

At the event, we had Mr Rohit Murgai, Head- Beauty Sales, VLCC Healthcare who discussed with us various beauty treatments that VLCC has to offer. We got to know about various usual services like Vampire Facelift, Medavita Treatment, Kerafusion Treatment, Microblading and two new treatments that have been introduced in VLCC, Kolkata i.e. Ionic Detox and Cryofreeze Therapy. I’ll elaborately talk about each of them later. Also, read till the end to see if your questions have been answered!

An Evening at VLCC and Things I Learnt There | #VLCCStyleStatements | Cherry On Top

Different VLCC Skin Treatments

Microblading

Most of us must have heard about Microblading, but despite that, we are not much familiar with the term. Mainly because the treatment is not easily accessible and not many places in India have this facility at this moment. We were being informed about this process by Mr Murgai when we got to know the difference between Microblading and Eyebrow Tattoos. Microblading can be called semi-permanent makeup. In this process, pigments are inserted into the epidermis, whereas in tattoos, pigments are inserted deep into the skin. We were lucky enough to have witnessed a Microblading session up close during our event. The expert had a pen-like tool with which she was actually drawing some hair-like strokes on the client’s eyebrows. This process takes almost up to two hours to complete depending on the thickness followed by a touch-up within a couple of weeks. We were told that these pigments last for 15-20 months. VLCC is a trustworthy place to stop by for microblading in India, mainly because they have the best experts.

Ionic Detox

Mr Rohit Murgai told us about the two new treatments that have recently been introduced to VLCC, Kolkata. One of them is Ionic Detox. In this therapy, the client goes through a pedicure which sucks out all the toxins from different organs of the client’s body. The description sounded was quite interesting. We were told that the colour of the water in the pedicure tub changes from transparent to black, green or muddy brown depending on the organs that release toxins.

Cryofreeze Therapy

Another thing that is new to VLCC, Kolkata is this Cryofreeze Therapy. This is mainly an anti-ageing therapy that gives you an instantaneous glow. This is a 20-minute session in which your body temperature is taken down to sub-zero level to constrict your blood vessels. Now, when the temperature is black to normal, the blood gushes back to the entire body giving it an instant tightness, glow and it also instantly reduces the appearance of your fine lines. This therapy is another intriguing one.

An Evening at VLCC and Things I Learnt There | #VLCCStyleStatements | Cherry On Top

Now, we were requested to ask our questions to Mr Murgai and he answered all of them with a smile. I am going to list down Mr Murgai’s answers to the question that you had asked me on Instagram and Facebook. Most of the cures included cosmetological help.

1. Remedy for Hair loss

Firstly, Mr Murgai made it clear that hair loss is curable at any age. There are different therapies that you can try out like Medavita or Mesotherapy in which certain proteins and vitamins are infused into your scalp. Else, you can go for hair transplant, hair patches and toupees or Polydioxanone Threads which is an advanced solution of Androgenetic Alopecia in which hair strands are thread embedded into your scalp.

2. Remedy for Frizz

The more humidity, the more frizz. At VLCC, they have a treatment called Kerafusion that is a keratin therapy for hair. In this process, your hair is given a coating of Kerafusion which makes it more manageable. Another thing is called Velour that is an advanced, in-depth Medavita treatment that is a re-energizing frizz-reduction treatment.

3. Remedy for Open Pores

You need to go through a daily CTM (Cleansing-Toning-Moisturizing) routine. Exfoliate your skin on a regular basis. Use a scrub that has walnut, avoid those that have small beads. There is a tool called derma roller that helps to reduce the appearance of open pores. You can also take help of collagen-based products that helps fill in the pores from within. One of the VLCC skin treatments include Vampire Facelift which is great for treating open pores, as well as dark elbows and knees.

4. Remedy for Dark Circles

Dark Circle happens because of the lesser blood circulation under your eyes. You need to increase the microcirculation there by getting yourself a proper treatment. You can go for a vision energy treatment or you can try eye cell treatment which is best for deeper dark circles. The only thing to consider and remember is that dark circles never go away completely, a treatment can only lessen their appearances.

An Evening at VLCC and Things I Learnt There | #VLCCStyleStatements | Cherry On Top
Dr Das speaking about facial aesthetics and how botox and fillers work on the skin

We were also introduced to botox and fillers by Dr Das who is a very skilled dermatologist. Those are very common ways of improving one’s facial aesthetics and slow down ageing. Also, one very important thing that I have learnt there is that everyone person is born with a different skin type. So, we all need a skincare that is tailor-made keeping that particular skin type and skin conditions in mind. If two people have oily skin that doesn’t mean that the oil-free products that suit one will also suit the other. We need to get our skin tested to find the best products according to what our skin needs.

An Evening at VLCC and Things I Learnt There | #VLCCStyleStatements | Cherry On Top

The event ended with some healthy snacks. The #VLCCStyleStatements session was very informative and enriching. I as well as you got to know about a lot of things. I hope you liked knowing about the VLCC skin treatments as much as I did.

Disclaimer: I was invited by VLCC, KOLKATA to attend the bloggers’ meet.

Hi, everyone! Hope you are doing well. During summers, not very often we get the chance to dress up like we want to. That’s because the heat and the humidity don’t allow us to do so. The fashionista inside us goes through restricted ideas of summer fashion. Dressing up and finding the best outfit can be a little tricky. We need to choose the colour, fabric and fit very wisely. You need something that is made out of breathable fabric like cotton, rayon and linen, something that complements your body type at the same time fitting you loosely so that your body gets the space to breathe, and colours that are soft or bright depending on the time you are wearing it.

Today, I wanted to share my idea of summer fashion with an embroidered kurti and colour block palazzos.

This Imara kurti from Myntra is made of 100% Rayon which is completely breathable and super comfy to wear on a hot and humid summer day. I loved wearing this during the shoot. I could pose for hours and still feel comfortable in it. It felt like I am wearing my home clothes. The short sleeves make it perfect for summers. The hemline is a bit curved and it has got red colour blocks on either side of the hemline which is not visible in the photos. The buttoned down back is the thing I liked the most about this kurti. Back buttons are not usually found in ethnic pieces so I really loved it. I also liked the edgy intricate, geometrical embroidery around the neckline. This kurti has a boat neck.

The solid red palazzos from People are also made of breathable Rayon fabric. The cut and fit of the palazzos are perfect for me. It shaped my body very well. I loved how flowy and breezy these are. The material made it very comfortable to wear them. Palazzos are best to perk up your summer fashion game. Tuck in your top/kurtis to make your legs appear longer while wearing palazzos

I paired up these wedged sandals from Reliance Footprint to style my outfit. There are several reasons for me to love these sandals. Firstly, they are silver and I love everything that is gold and silver. It adds a bling to your ethnic ear. Secondly, the heels are super comfortable to walk on. Thirdly and most importantly, it adds height to my body to make me look taller. Palazzos tend to make short women look shorter, so you need to take care of that. Reliance Footprint has a great range of women shoes at a very reasonable price range. You definitely need to check it out. Currently, they are having a Buy 2 get 50% off sale which you can’t miss. I bought a lot of shoes already! #sorrynotsorry

When we are young, we don’t value things in life as we believe that we can get away with anything. Growing up, we learn so many things that actually benefit us in the long run. For me, it was skincare. Skincare was the thing I paid no heed to. The reason behind it was undoubtedly the lack of knowledge. The moment I started learning about things that do and don’t benefit my skin, I started taking my skincare quite seriously. In fact, I started a proper basic skincare ‘routine’ just a couple of years ago.

It took me years to understand that my skin has some special requirements that need to be taken care of. I was lucky that I had not caused any severe damage to my skin. But, not many are fortunate. That is why I wanted to share the mistakes I made when I was younger so that you who are still teenagers learn from them. So, here we go

1. Washing Your Face At Least Twice a Day

7 Things About Basic Skin Care I Wish I Knew When I Was Younger | Cherry On Top | In this post, I wanted to share the basic skin care mistakes I made when I was younger so that you who are still teenagers learn from them.

Talking about basic skincare, the one common thing I can think of is washing your face. People who don’t follow any skincare routine, at least wash their face religiously. But, do they do that twice a day, are the most likely to forget washing their face at night? In most of the cases, yes. People wash their face in the morning for a dose of freshness but as the day proceeds, they start to become tired and lethargic which leads to skipping the nighttime skincare.

This practice is definitely a no-no if you want to have clearer and healthier skin. During the day, your skin surface gathers dirt, grime, sebum and what not! You must get rid of those impurities before sleep to prevent those things from clogging your pores and producing acne.

Make sure you are using a cleanser that is meant for your skin type. Use a gentle/mild cleanser if you have sensitive skin, an oil-free foaming cleanser if you have oily skin and a hydrating, soap-free cleanser if you have dry skin.

 2. Scrubbing is Essential

7 Things About Basic Skin Care I Wish I Knew When I Was Younger | Cherry On Top | In this post, I wanted to share the basic skin care mistakes I made when I was younger so that you who are still teenagers learn from them.

Speaking of clogged pores and acne, how can I miss the part that is often overlooked but really important in basic skincare. Exfoliation is a must for your skin, no matter how much you neglect it. Scrubbing your face at least twice a week makes sure your skin gets rid of all the impurities and dead cells which will result in an even skin surface. When your dead cells are removed and new cells are uncovered, you know that all the toner, serum or moisturiser that you use actually goes into the skin instead of stopping there on the outer surface. Exfoliation also helps unclog your pores, helping it breathe properly.

If you have oily skin then you must not skip this part. People with oily skin have more open pores because of which they secrete more sebum. If you don’t exfoliate your oily skin religiously then the impurities will clog them which will result in breakouts.

Remember to exfoliate and not over-exfoliate your skin.

3. Moisturise Your Face No Matter How Oily It is

7 Things About Basic Skin Care I Wish I Knew When I Was Younger | Cherry On Top | In this post, I wanted to share the basic skin care mistakes I made when I was younger so that you who are still teenagers learn from them.

One thing that I have been doing wrong all my life is not moisturising my face during summer. It’s not too long ago when I actually changed this practice. Every single skin-type needs proper hydration. If you don’t moisturize your face, it will reflect more signs of dullness, ageing and fatigue. The drier your skin, the more chances of appearance of fine lines. Now, people with dry and normal skin cannot think of moisturizing their skin. It’s the people with combination to oily skin type who often skin the moisturization part thinking that oily skin does not need hydration, especially in summers.

Just because your skin looks greasy doesn’t mean it’s properly hydrated. People with combination to oily skin use products that help control the secretion of sebum and make your pores shrink so that it secretes less oil. In this process, we actually make it dehydrated. You definitely need a dose of hydration to make it healthy. You should use an oil-free moisturizer for your skin.

4. Don’t Rub Under Your Eyes

7 Things About Basic Skin Care I Wish I Knew When I Was Younger | Cherry On Top | In this post, I wanted to share the basic skin care mistakes I made when I was younger so that you who are still teenagers learn from them.

This is another thing that I have learnt so late. Now, I want to warn you while you are young so that you don’t make the same mistake. The skin under our eyes is extremely delicate and thin. It gets thinner as you age. Rubbing them can cause irritation, it can also accelerate the appearance of fine lines under your eyes. This is something we don’t need at all. I have spent the majority of my life rubbing under my eyes for removing that stubborn kajal and it has caused me a couple of baby-fine lines there.

You should always use a good eye makeup remover to remove your makeup so that you don’t end up rubbing it. Take some makeup remover onto two cotton rounds and press them against your eyes for 10 seconds and gently wipe the makeup off of your eyes. You will see how easily it removes your eye makeup, even the intense ones.

Applying eye cream is a must for as you start ageing the skin under your eyes tends to sag and also becomes thinner. You need some firming eye cream to help tighten the skin. Take the eye cream onto the tip of your ring finger and gently dab it on the under-eye area. The ring finger is advisable because it produces the least pressure. If you are not concerned about ageing skin or fine lines, you can always use a brightening eye cream for obvious reasons. Our under-eye area tends to get dehydrated, so we need to give it a boost of moisture. Try and make it a part of your basic skincare.

5. Don’t Go to Bed with Makeup

7 Things About Basic Skin Care I Wish I Knew When I Was Younger | Cherry On Top | In this post, I wanted to share the basic skin care mistakes I made when I was younger so that you who are still teenagers learn from them.

Never ever do this! The primer or base makeup that you apply fill in all your pores, suffocate the skin and results in a massive breakout (or a few pimples). The mascara that you have on your lashes makes them weak and then they tend to fall. Make sure to break down all your makeup using a good makeup remover and then follow it by a good wash using a deep cleaning face wash. One product I can swear by is the Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean. I have already finished three bottles of it!

I like to scrub my face after washing my face to make sure that my pores are open and can breathe. This is one of the most important points to remember in your basic skincare.

6. Invest in Good Products

In skincare, what you give is what you get in return. Consider this as an investment that going to benefit you in the long run. Use good products, quality products. Don’t hesitate in spending your money (Obviously, don’t make a hole in your pocket!) on quality products. Use paraben-free products, collagen-based products for your basic skincare.

7. Always Read the Ingredients List

If you are even a little bit aware of harsh chemicals and how they affect your skin, you must read the list of ingredients written on the product that you are buying. Don’t go for products that don’t have a proper ingredients list unless you have read several reviews on those products. Avoid anything that has SLS/SLES, Paraben, Silicone, Propylene Glycol etc.

Which mistakes are you still doing?

Hi, guys! Hope you are doing well. In this modern world, with developing style statements and increasing interests for global beauty and styling, people have started to embrace different ways of styling and modes of beautification from all over the world. The idea is to look good, to look unique and to stand out in the crowd. To satiate this crave for looking something ‘different’, brands are coming up with various ways to give you what you need when it’s not possible naturally. One of the million things is wigs that look natural. There is a brand called Black Hairspray that makes the best lace front wigs and this is the topic for today’s post.

Before starting, we should always be clear about some things. Firstly, what we think is needless might not be the same with others. Secondly, it is a matter of choice whether or not someone would like to use wigs.

Why would one need the Best Lace Front Wigs

There are many reasons why a person needs wigs. There are many available online and in stores, with different price tag and quality. In modern day, beauty enthusiasts are keen on using wigs because of two main reasons- A. it gives an instant makeover, goes with many looks that you create and they are hassle-free to use and B. they come in various styles so it becomes quick and easy for one to use without wasting much time on it.

The Black Hairspray lace frontal wigs come in so many different styles and colours. Be it curly, straight or wavy, you name it and you have it. Perfect for several occasions, these wigs are perfect to make you look perfect and give you that effortlessly polished look. These lace front wigs are absolutely no hassle to use and maintain. They have an array of human hair wigs as well as synthetic lace wig. They have the best lace front wigs because they give the most natural look, they have different styles and a multitude of colour options from blacks to off-blacks, ombre and sombre etc and most importantly they are affordable.

Here are a few of my favourites-

I have seen my grandmother using hair extensions to make her coiffure bigger and more voluminous. That seemed to be very unnatural and did not blend with her natural hair. Plus, those extensions came only in an unnatural jet black colour that was nowhere close to the colour of human hair.  These lace front wigs are surely not anything like that. They are very natural, some have human hair blend giving them the most natural look possible. I think these wigs are a must-try for those who like to experiment with their looks, especially professional makeup artists and makeup gurus who keep creating new looks. Also, they ship internationally which is a great thing.

A blogger’s job isn’t as easy as it seems, especially that of a fashion and beauty blogger. It’s not as perfect as it seems on social media. Behind every Instagram post, there is a lot of hard work, stress, and anxiety. If you are a fashion blogger, you cannot limit your creativity just by posing in pretty clothes. There is a lot more effort that goes in. One such obstacle is finding the perfect location. Finding a good location for the photoshoot is not necessary to become a successful fashion blogger, but it is important if you want your readers to get a visual reminder of your work. It also gives a nice element to your photos, makes them unique and ensures people never get bored of them.

Every serious fashion blogger is always looking for different locations for different posts and believe me, it’s a struggle. I have recently started to take my work more seriously and decided to shoot on a different location, ditching my terrace. On the very first day of the quest, I could completely realize the struggle.

Amit (in case you didn’t know – he’s my boyfriend) and I recently decided to try out some different locations for my photos. It was an extremely hot day and we were out on a journey that had no destination. We were almost midway when I felt a little lightheaded because of the heat. Thank god, Amit had brought along a few bottles of the new 7UP Revive with him. A few sips of that helped me freshen myself up and I felt better.

After two long hours of hunting, we found a few good locations. That two hours in the scorching heat took out every last ounce of my energy. I felt like sitting there on the ground no matter if I looked like a madcap or not. That’s the time when 7UP Revive came to my rescue again. Gosh, what would I have done without it!

Next up was an ATM stop, as we needed cash since our favourite café doesn’t accept cards. I do wish they become a little up-to-date! That day, the ATM was overcrowded and we had to wait outside for about 15-20 minutes. We stood in the sun while the heat baked us again. We looked for trees to take refuge under but failed. People, do not cut trees down! PLEASE. Amit was all sweaty and hot (and not in a flattering way!) when Captain 7UP Revive was back on duty! This drink is a saviour!

We have been loving 7UP Revive ever since we tried it during one of our movie dates. The cafeteria at the theater stocked them. Since then, we have never bought any other beverage at the movies. I personally hate carbonated drinks, so it took me no time at all to fall in love with 7UP Revive. It tastes delicious and contains Vitamins B3, B6, and B12 that play an important role in energy metabolism. It also helps replenish essential electrolytes that our body loses when perspiring too much.

Overall, I think it is a great drink for summers. If you are carrying a bottle of 7UP Revive, you are sorted for the day. I would highly recommend everyone to try this drink at least it once!
